Site 2-Lake Side West
This is the 3rd year we've camped at this location. Unfortunately they have expanded to several more spots taking the seclusion and charm away a tad. Its a great spot don't get me wrong, but for the camper that wants a great spot without a lot of traffic unfortunately this is slowly outgrowing that magic. Perhaps it was the time of year because of the trail of trees and the color changing. We laughed, but a random dog and owner came through the camp and the dog bit my boyfriend. I don't blame the dog though, he was just surprised to see our pups. We did leave a wooden christmas box we found on the side of the road to house wood to keep dry. And hopefully new campers get a kick out of it.... enjoy the use or burn it in a wood emergency lmao. The place will always be special to us, but the traffic is picking up there. Just be aware. Also no one ever serviced the portapotty our entire visit and the other campers kept using all my tp. Just a tad frustrating. I'm glad we went nevertheless.... things just change.

Site 1- Lake side -Interior
The site was beautiful, and Million$ Sunset is absolutely correct. We took the short boardwalk over a small lagoon to watch the sunset, and stayed out to later stargaze and find comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas. Highly recommend the site; the grounds and adjoining public access area were clean and well maintained. The only drawback was other campers themselves. The Little Traverse Bay Band has modest rules and expectations of campers---please follow them, for the comfort and well-being of everyone that shares the space!!!! When we arrived at site 1, prior campers had burned trash, bottles and cans in and around the fire ring, which we cleaned up and removed. At one of the other nearby sites campers played a radio from the time we arrived in the afternoon through midnight, maybe all night, as it was going at 7 am all morning until we left. Highly recommend the site. Thank you Little Traverse Bay Band, for sharing your space with us. Other campers, clean up your act, and follow the rules, as you would wish others to do for your comfort and enjoyment at a site you paid to peacefully experience.

Site 3- Lake Side East
The sites here are private and secluded with a great view of the lake. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves is so relaxing!

Stunning Views
Really loved staying at this site again. It's beautiful. I stayed mid September and the weather was perfect. I can't wait to stay again next summer and fall. Legs Inn and the Brewery are a treat as well. The gas station is truly a general store with beer, wine, liquor, hot food and scoop able ice cream. Lots of firewood as well.

Love the beach + trees!
Pros- This was a great place to pitch a tent for a long weekend! We loved being able to be surrounded by trees and the sounds of birds while also being so close to the lake! The trees were great for a quick clothes line, hammock, and shade. We were pleasantly surprised too by the lack of bugs! We never needed bug spray! The site was well maintained and we appreciated having a picnic table! We are hoping to come again next fall!
Tips-
-consider arriving in daylight if possible. It was tricky to find the site in the dark and there were very few signs to support finding our way.
-We brought a small wagon to bring firewood and water back to our site more easily during our stay. We were really grateful for the firewood!
-We had raccoons visit while sitting by the fire our first night, but the site is so close to your car that we easily put our food items back in the car for overnight storage in a more secure way than our container and cooler. Something to think about!
Cons-
-sound carries on water. Between fishing boats launching early in the morning, a very large utility truck making hourly trips to the launch to dump something or get water (it was bizarre), and folks renting nearby cabins with 6+ very loud, screaming, flighting kids from 6am-10pm, it was less peaceful than we imagined. Not a deal breaker though! Just something to think about if you’re looking for peace and quiet, remote experiences.
