Step back in time and enjoy our rustic cabin couples retreat. No insulation or drywall, restored just as it was in 1865. The setting is rural and tranquil with lots of nature and farm animals, a beautiful place to relax and unplug. Conveniently located close to the Intersection of I-74 and I-55. Close to Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan Universities. As our guest you will have access to our farm surroundings. The bedroom loft provides a beautiful country view of the eastern pasture. Our cabin includes a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. The cabin is stocked with plates, glasses, coffee cups and silverware. Need some fresh air? The front porch is a wonderful place to sit and read a book, play a guitar or just listen to the sounds of nearby nature. Their is a small fire pit as well as a park like charcoal grill just outside the cabin entrance. Just a few steps away you will have access to the bathhouse, lined with aromatic cedar with private entrance. If you're looking for adventure instead of a boring hotel room, this is the place for you! Please be advised this is a working farm. It is 100 + years old and we cannot promise you may not see a bug or two. We have a few farm animals that need daily attention so you may see someone wondering around at some point. Just wave if you need anything, we’re happy to help out. Sorry, “NO pets are allowed. Note: 3 night maximum stay.Step back in time and enjoy our rustic cabin couples retreat. The Farmers Cabin
We loved the farm, the animals, the view, and the rustic cabin in a quiet, relaxing location. Eventhough the temps were in the upper 80's, the cabin had a portable A/C unit upstairs and fans keeping the cabin comfortable. The cabin was very clean, bed was comfy, bathhouse was private, clean and modern. Every room had the perfect thoughtful touches of rustic and antique decor! We loved it! Our host, Dave, is very friendly and we enjoyed our chats with him and learning about the farm. I am looking forward to a return trip.

Firefly display!
We came here a second year in a row....to coincide with Bloomington Gold corvette show. This time we were looking more forward to the cabin stay than the cars!! We were treated to an amazing moonrise as well as a spectacular firefly show!!

Cozy 🍁
Comfy comfy bed. Blissful surroundings and an authentic cabin. Big windows that face east. Hosts are welcoming and inspiring. Expect some moths and maybe a stink bug or two. It’s a farm! Otherwise totally clean and free of any nefarious critters.

Another perfect stay at Honeydew…
Another fantastic stay. It is so peaceful here. We sat by the fire for 4 hours on Saturday night and woke up Sunday morning and sat by it again for another 4 hours! The property is so laid back. This time our 17 year old daughter came and actually wants to come back!! The cabin we stayed in was quaint, homey and enough room for the 3 of us. Close to the city but far enough away to feel like you are in the country!! We will be back.
