Overview

About

You can't go wrong with a place that has "panther" in its name. Roam around this 16,550-acre site, filled with endangered species and beautiful flowers. Trot a marathon along 26 miles of equestrian trails. Hike on 3 miles of walking trails, or mountain bike for 24 miles.

Put in a kayak or canoe at one of three small lakes or several fishing ponds. Cast your line in streams filled with bass, bluegill, and green sunfish. Lakes are known for trout and bass. Thick forests surround some of these secluded fishing holes.

Carry your binoculars with you to spy Indiana bats, red-shouldered hawks, and northern harriers. These animals are all endangered and make their homes here. Springtime brings out the Dutchman's breeches, a beautiful white flower that looks like someone's pants.

Prairie Lake Campground has 84 sites, all of which have electricity and 19 have full hook-ups. Nine cabins sit along the shore. A 51-site equestrian camp provides spots for you and your trusty steed.
