Learn more about this land: This 10 acre parcel is on a south facing slope with a forest of growing trees that are all 12 feet apart. Wildlife like deer, turkeys, and an occasional moose are common. One can walk through the woods or just sit and listen to nature all around. It's a great place for hammock camping! Two miles to the East is Lake Coeur d'Alene with great boating, kayaking, and fishing. Loffs Bay has a public boat ramp and lake access. This is not a good site for RV's! It is great for a jeep/subaru/small SUV. The trees are 12 feet apart and turning around would be difficult with an RV or trailer! Heavenly woods
I stayed the night on Sam’s land in a little clearing up a small hill. The trees are spaced far enough apart for hammocks. Sam came out and we chatted for a good while. It was a very quiet restful night.

Great spot to crash passing through
Very welcoming hosts. They met us there and made sure we had what we needed and gave us some great local breakfast recommendations. Lots of trees on this property. You will need a vehicle that is not super tall or wide. We had a pop up camper and found a relatively level spot which worked great for us spending one night as we passed through town. This site would be perfect for hammock camping.

Perfect for hammocks!
The place was great! We stayed for five nights, using it as a base camp for us to do some hiking and events in the area. Sam and his wife came out and met us and we had a very nice visit. The composting toilet had plenty of supplies. We used both a tent and hammocks for our large family + a dog. The host couple were very accommodating and flexible. One bummer, but not a huge deal and not the host’s fault at all but one of the neighbor’s dogs barked constantly until pretty late one night, so guests should remember that ten acres doesn’t put neighbors far away. We heard music and voices (and the dog obviously) but for the most part it was quite peaceful.

We had a great time! The woods are beautiful and secluded, and Sam is very hospitable. He lent us a table and had some great recommendations for places nearby to check out. Will definitely be back next time we're passing through!

Sam has a beautiful tree farm that is private and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay greatly. Sam was helpful and welcoming.

Peaceful, but not for tent camping
I was a little confused when I arrived, the sign and road leading to this place was not very well marked and was quite overgrown with tall grass. I drove up and down the gravel road looking for the turnoff and didn’t find it until I got out and walked around. The host indicated that I should park by the “green shed” and then pitch my tent wherever I wanted on the 10 acres of land. Unfortunately it was so overgrown I could barely get my Subaru up the hill, and I couldn’t find any flat spots to lay out my tent. The bathroom was probably a quarter mile from the road up a steep hill, heavily wooded and with tall grass everywhere. I slept on that hill, after mowing down some of the grass myself. And I had to carry all my stuff from my car up the hill as well—not an easy feat! I was a little frustrated with the lack of description to this place, and the lack of signs. Would have been nice if someone had mowed a trail to the bathroom for me before I got there at least! Overall, I probably wouldn’t tent camp here again unless there were some sort of path or trail leading to the camp spots that I never found. Would have really loved to find a flat spot to lay my tent out! It was mostly quiet at least, and very peaceful so I’m grateful for the safety this place provided. It just doesn’t seem like this is a suitable space for camping.
