We own a small cottage on an acre of land located in Orange City FL close to everything like restaurants, shopping, various state parks and so on. We look a bit rural but are in the middle between Orlando with all the theme parks like sea World, Disney and Universal Studios within an hour and Daytona Beach, About 40 minutes away. The award winning downtown of the college Town DeLand is only 10 minutes up the road. The historic City of Sanford is just 15 minutes away.We are 10 minutes from Blue Springs State park where you can swim in crystal clear spring water or float in a tube down river. In Winter you can watch the endangered manatees in their natural environment. You can also drive 15 minutes to De Leon Springs State Park and experience what was named the fountain of youth by enthusiastic settlers. While rejuvenating effects of the fresh spring water are possible, they are not guaranteed.  We are in a location with historic cottages. Our little house is 100 years old and so is the cute downtown with its many city parks. You can stroll around Mills Lake Park or visit any of the many restaurants near by. The casual Nice and Easy Oyster Bar is in walking distance, if you want to leave the car behind. We are very close to mayor bass fishing spots like Lake Monroe and St Johns River. Even if you don't have a boat you can take a free ferry ride to nearby Hontoon Island State Park where you can hike on the trails of the native people that inhabited the island approximately 3000 years ago. For Theme Park fans you are at Disney World in about an hour. Universal and Sea World is a bit closer. Plenty of huge outlet malls and such as well. The famous Daytona Beach race track and a number of beaches on the Atlantic coast are in 30 to 40 minutes accessible. DeLand has one of the busiest small airport for parachuting if you fancy free fall. I personally prefer a leisurely stroll through delands award winning downtown with its small boutiques and antique shops and sheer endless number of pubs, bars and restaurants. Every Friday evening there is an artsy farmers market that features a number of great food trucks and venues.  Our house is far away enough from larger roadways so that it's reasonably quiet but still very close to all the infrastructure anyone might want or need. We have mild winters with a few nights a year going into the 30s. But days in winter are mostly in the 70s or warmer. Sommers get hot and humid so outdoorsy activities are best planned in the mornings.

This is a great camp inside a quiet neighborhood. The host was very gracious and even had an outdoor shower for us. We were going on a boat ride at nearby Blue Springs State Park and he allowed us to park our rv at the camp while we took the 2 hr boat ride. Great place to stay. Very convenient to shopping.

Nice spot to visit area!
Convenient spot to camp and visit my son and grandchildren who live nearby. You will probably need 50 feet of hose, 40 feet of power cord and a 30 to 50 amp adapter if your RV uses 30 amps. Our host hooked us up with his cord and adapter until we purchased our own. We needed them anyway incase of similar situations. The site is level and clean.

It was a wonderful stay. Full hook-ups was a dream! Malte and his wife were very kind and friendly. Malte helped us find things to do in the area. It's so close to everything you need. It's close to state parks for hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and swiming. It's only 40 minutes to Orlando and less than 40 to Daytona and beaches. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.
