Rugged C's Ranch

3 sites · RVs, Tents35 acres · Fort Pierce, FL
We purchased our property in 2017 and longed for the dream to build a home. Well, we built that home. We are now ready to share our place where we find so much tranquility with others. You can see how the old orange groves worked as we haven't filled in all the furrows yet. The old orange Grove is now home to cattle, horses, goats, ducks, and our little family. Learn more about this land: Bring your RV away from the hustle and bustle of the city to the wide open spaces of the country. The only sounds you'll hear are cows mooing, goats baaing, and horses neighing. Sunsets and the stars are a site to see out here. THE PROPERTY: The owners live on the property with their 2 children and are willing to be helpful in anyway. Children are more than welcome to tag along. Being kid friendly is a plus for us as our kids might be running around enjoying their property. Can't forget dog friendly either. Our dogs love to greet our guests. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: If beaches are on your agenda, South Causeway and Fort Pierce Inlet State Park are only 25 minutes from the beach! Our favorite place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner is Carter's Grocery, which is only 4 minutes from our property. ACTIVITIES: We have chickens that lay eggs and are great for eating so if you'd like some fresh eggs, feel free to go over to their house and grab some. We have a Pavillion with a fire pit that is welcomed to be used. Our dock provides a look out on our pond. Please feed the fish some food if you'd like. Also, take time to fish in our pond and catch some tilapia or blue gill. The kids have a blast fishing as the fish are easy to catch. THE SPACE: The site you'll be staying at is close to the owners house. There are 2 parking spots on asphalt that are available for the campers vehicles or park directly at your site. The ground will be grass that the camper will park on. Please note: we have 2 gates with gate codes that shut automatically. Please be sure each gate closes behind you! We have free roaming cattle and other farm animals outside the camping area. We are always open to recommendations on how we can make your stay even better! We cant wait to share our property with you and hopefully you'll find our place as somewhere you'd love to return!

The best camping near Indian River Lagoon Preserve State Park guide

Overview

About

Camping near Indian River Lagoon Preserve State Park offers travellers a chance to be close to one of Florida's most ecologically significant areas. Located on a barrier island just south of Melbourne, this preserve stands as a guardian for the watershed of the Indian River Lagoon, which holds the title of the most biologically diverse estuary in North America. Such recognition isn't just a claim; the lagoon has been honored as both an Outstanding Florida Water and an Estuary of National Significance. The natural features of the site, including its mangrove wetlands and salt marshes, play a crucial role in the local ecosystem. They act as nature's filtration system, cleaning runoff, stabilizing sediments, and ensuring water quality. Moreover, they serve as a natural barrier, protecting shorelines from the relentless forces of erosion. While the site is open to visitors, it's essential to note that its facilities are limited. This is because the park is in the midst of a rigorous restoration program. Efforts are underway to eradicate invasive plant species that threaten the native flora and, in turn, reintroduce indigenous species to restore the area's natural balance. In essence, a visit to the vicinity of Indian River Lagoon Preserve State Park is more than just a camping trip; it's an opportunity to witness nature's resilience and the efforts of conservationists to maintain the delicate balance of this unique ecosystem. Whether you're an avid nature lover or just looking for a serene escape, the park promises a rewarding experience.
