In 2002, Earth Mountain was vacant land that offered itself to us in a way of a calling. It is an unforgettable experience whether camping here or participating in a program. Earth Mtn. is a 40 acre basecamp with 480 surrounding acres of forest. It is a high vibration place with lots to offer. The stars are completely amazing, we are so far off the beaten path that there is no light pollution! We welcome you to share in this wonderful sacred space. Learn more about this land: Earth Mtn. is a working permaculture, off-grid farm at 8000' in the backcountry of the beautiful Sangre De Cristo Mtns. We are located 1 hr. from Trinidad, CO.  We have a private wooded campground area close to a small pond. Camping here will give you a wonderful sacred space to rest, learn and enjoy.  Organic food is available to pick and pay during farming season. Earth Mountain Education Farm
I took this trip a while ago but had a great time. Our tent spot was remote enough we had privacy but not so far off we couldn't walk down to the showers easily. There were loads of places to hike where we ran into no one and the host was helpful and nice. Overall was a great experience!

Camping.. But on a Farm!
We had a great time at Earth Mountain! We decided to camp in the middle of the week, which resulted in no one else being at the campground. The walk from where you park your car to the camp isn't too far, but I'd recommend a wagon or something similar to carry gear up to your spot (on a forested hillside). We spent three days here. It was immensely interesting to learn and see how permaculture farming works. They're also a fairly low-waste farm; nearly anything that can be repurposed or reused was. There is a nice outdoor area with tables, kitchen ware you can borrow and a wood burning stove (we had fun cooking meals on this a couple of times). A tiny greenhouse sits on the side of this area and opens out to a kid's play area that has swings, hammock swings, stuff to climb on, etc. While there, we visited with most of the animals. Met Tiny Tim (a goat), several cats, several dogs, chickens, a turkey and some ponies. My son named one of the black chickens Crimson. We went on some hikes, picked some vegetables and our son was able to join a group from the local area learning about the farm, animals and the like, which he seemed to enjoy. So, if you have the time and want to do something kind of unique, I'd highly recommend Earth Mountain. You can camp, learn and explore. The hosts and residents are all very nice people and will answer any question you can think of that relates to the farm or surrounding area.

Amazing property, needs more info
We had a blast at Earth Mountain Campground over Memorial weekend! The location is stunning. Be prepared to be a minimalist! most camping sites are a hike in, we got lucky and our site was close to the road so we could unload our gear and coolers. The listing needs to be updated to reflect the amenities and the outdoor shower and bathroom. But over all it was peaceful and er met the most adorable guard dogs 🥹
