Welcome to Yosemite Colfax Spring! Home to a basecamp for river rafting trips during the summertime, we are located 15 minutes driving distance to the entrance to Yosemite National Park. If you are staying with us between May - September and want to come rafting, ask us about our river trips! Our camp sits on a ridge with views down into the Tuolumne River Canyon. The Tuolumne River begins at 13,000 feet of elevation in the High Country of Tuolumne Meadows and provides drinking water for over 2.7 million people in San Francisco. With cedar and pine trees, manzanita bushes, and wildflowers in the spring, enjoy the Sierras' flora and fauna. Our family has been operating our river rafting company for over 50 years, the last 11 of those years being here at Colfax Spring. Conveniently located off Highway 120, we are in close proximity to swimming holes, hikes, and more. Enjoy the privacy of our campsite and getting world-class views to yourself, with all of the amenities (flushing toilets, wi-fi, showers.) Make sure to check the Yosemite National Park website for information about reservations to visit the park!

(4) Main Tuolumne Camp
Super pretty area with nice views. The website and description of campsites are a bit confusing, so I ended up booking #4, which did not work out. There is a wooden platform which does not work for tents that have stakes. The hosts are very accommodating and let us move to campsite 7. The bathrooms are amazing with nice toilets and hot water showers. There is a sink for doing dishes right outside of them, as well as a filtered water station. The dumpters are not bear-proof which led to a bear going through them the first night of the stay. Behind the dumpsters, there is a lot of weird junk which you pass every time you have to get to your campsite. The campsite is right next to the main road but it isn't that loud. Overall, a good place but has some quirks.

(1) Clavey Camper Site
Everything a van camper needs
We were in Clavey #1 right by the office and bath house. Easy access to the road. Perfect spot for a couple of older van campers who like our comforts-plenty of shade, picnic tables, access to electricity to run our coolers, close to showers and toilets. Speaking of bathroom facilities, wow? Spacious clean modern showers, (towels and soap provided) same for the toilet / sink area. Almost like home.

(8) Upper Tuolumne Camp
Close to Yosemite with clean shower
The place is conveniently located for visiting Yosemite. It’s about 1 hour drive to valley and 15 min to park entrance. There is a small grocery store and gas station 5 minutes from camp. Quiet with great views from camp site. Site was not level for my Campervan but it didn’t take much to get it level. It does have nice level pads for tents. Very clean place with the nicest clean showers I ever seen at a Campground. Definitely would stay there again.

(4) Main Tuolumne Camp
Pros: an hour from Yosemite Village; fairly clean bathrooms with limited use (guests only) and good ventilation (open the door for a short while); thoughtful provision of potable water and a campsite trash can by the hosts. Cons: random debris and trash strewn around the entrance drive up to the campsites; trash bins provided at each campsite might attract bears if food scraps are deposited in them; no bear boxes at each campsite despite a known bear frequenting the dumpster (but guests may store food and other bear-attracting items in the custodial closet, upon request); unwelcoming signs at the entrance intended to keep trespassers out but still off-putting to guests.
