The Meadow
Perfect spot with great views
The Meadow was a perfect pit stop on my way up north. Jeff greeted me and got me all set up with a level spot. The sunset was gorgeous and the area felt really safe. It was also very dark and quiet with lots and lots of stars. I'd stay here again anytime!

The Meadow
Great base camp, great host
This is a great base camp with tons of forest and BLM land in the area. The site has lovely views in all directions. The host was very helpful and hospitable. We had a great time.
The site is a small area fenced off from a working cattle farm so it is pretty basic but that is part of what I enjoyed. It’s a pull through site with a gravel pad with electric and water (bring 2 hoses, we borrowed one from the host) accessible which isn’t common for rural Hipcamp sites. The site isn’t completely level but we were able to level easily and the host has plans to further develop in the future. Electric is a straight blade three prong plug so bring an adapter.
The site is right off a relatively low traffic road which was great for access. We appreciated being far enough off 395 that we didn’t get the road noise but close enough that we could access neighboring towns and the forests. There isn’t anything in Doyle so come fully stocked....unless you need eggs. The host has cattle, raises chickens for eggs (which he gave us, yum!!) and has some goats.
The site is close to train tracks so you will hear the train come through 2-3 times/day but it didn’t take away from our enjoyment. Just don’t be surprised.
All-in-all a great site. I thoroughly enjoyed staying on someone’s working farm. Much preferred to a busy campsite.
