Glamping with a pack of dogs at your door step. Enjoy a beautiful spacious yurt bordering the Tahoe National Forest in a great location with access to nearby lakes (summer) and ski hills (winter).
*Winter* snowshoe out the back door, cozy up by the warm wood stove, or use the yurt as a home base while you ski one of the nearby ski hills (20 minutes from Sugar Bowl).
*Summer* enjoy our local hiking trails or one of the many swimming holes just a short drive away.
We are home to a pack of 12 working sled dogs, so enjoy morning and evening howl sessions from your large deck while drinking your coffee or sipping your wine. Our 'off-grid' 24 foot yurt is equipped with a sleeping loft, living room futon, full kitchen to cook in (propane range and fridge), wood fire stove, solar power and a composting toilet. As a 'dry' cabin, we haul all water in for your use. It is located in a private setting within a three minute walk from your parking spot, with a large deck that overlooks our seasonal creek. You can enjoy walking out into the back woods bordering the Tahoe National Forest, or take a drive down the road and hike into a waterfall and swimming hole.
We are situated in a beautiful forest and are home to a pack of 12 sled dogs. Enjoy getting serenaded by morning and evening howling sessions. The dogs run and play in a 2-acre fenced yard separate from the yurt, so you can either join us for a play session, or watch from a distance. Unfortunately we do not allow visitors to bring their own dogs at this time.
We are conveniently located a few minutes off the I-80, and only 25 minutes west of Truckee. Cook your meals in the yurt's kitchen, or walk up the road to the Rustic Table Restaurant for a meal at the lodge.
