Since our grand opening in July 2022, we've been welcoming guests year-round to explore and enjoy our 35 acres of unspoiled wilderness forest, complete with winding trails and a captivating 2100 feet of riverfront. Our diverse accommodations cater to all outdoor enthusiasts. Choose from 15 camping sites, each equipped with fire pits and slabwood benches amidst ample parking. For those seeking a rustic retreat, our 5 primitive shelter cabin sites feature cozy 10x12 lofted barn cabins, securely lockable with your padlock. RV adventurers are welcome too, with 10 picturesque near riverside spots (best suited for towed RVs up to 32 feet or drivable up to 35 feet). Four of these provide full electric and water hook-ups, while the other six offer a serene boon-docking experience. We have also recently added 2 deluxe furnished cabins, 3 large group riverfront campsites, and a bohemian bus shelter site that sleeps 8. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nearly 4 miles of wilderness riverfront, situated on a breathtaking road leading to the charming town of Parsons, WV - the heart of Tucker County and gateway to Thomas, Davis, and Canaan Valley. Your adventure starts here: kayak down the merging Dry Fork and Black Fork Rivers, stroll over to the nearby Hendricks via a charming cable suspension bridge, or explore the Fernow Experimental Forest, just a mile downstream. The surrounding Monongahela National Forest awaits with its vast, unlogged forests. Thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike will find no shortage of activities. From waterfall explorations, creek adventures, and fishing to kayaking, tubing, and hiking, there's something for everyone. Don't forget to bring your bikes, kayaks, tubes, roller blades, snorkels, goggles, and river shoes for an unforgettable outdoor experience! Our camp provides spring water spigots for general use, an office cabin with electric charging access, and clean porta-potties. Wi-Fi is available near the office cabin (password: campground19). The lovely town of Parsons, with all its conveniences, is just a 4-mile drive away. For a seamless experience, we offer online booking and self-check-in, with check-in starting at noon and designated parking spots for each campsite. This beautiful 20 foot tent sits on a 24x20 platform giving you a 4foot porch to sit and listen to the sounds of nature. This tent is fully off the grid with a generator on site for back up power if you need it. We have power banks available to charge electronics. Queens size air mattress with two additional sleeping bags. T-Mobile has the best service. AT&T and US Cellular 50-80% coverage. You must bring charging cords. We offer 5 gallon solar heated shower bags for the outdoor shower. Firewood bundles are stacked under the deck with roasting sticks. All lights are solar with a few battery operated ones. Extra batteries are on site. There is a grill and propane tank on site with grilling utensils, cutting board, and spices. Plates and silverware provided. We offer a cooler just bring your own ice! If you forget your shower accessories, don’t worry we have you covered. You will also find a 4 cup French press and water kettle. Bug spray and hand sanitizer on site! A propane heater is available upon request. Find us on social media @ OldeTymeCabins There is plenty of space to lay down some sleeping bags for the kids! We are less than a 1/4 mile from Maniac Mountain Haunted House, so you will hear the chainsaws, gun shots, and screams during the Sept-Nov time. We have 160 acres of wilderness you can explore. Be cautious of wildlife and look for WARNING signs. We have a private shooting range in the bottom fields of the property so you may hear gun shots April- September. The range is for our junior marksmanship program to practice for Nationals and local matches. For winter months Oct-April water supply will be limited. A propane buddy heater can be requested as well.

MountainTop got its namesake over 30 years ago for the small mountain plateau that resides at the top of the property, just a short hike from the cabins and campsites. One can easily find the soothing voice of water nearby at the seasonal waterfall or alongside the flowing river. Rejuvenate with friends, families, nature lovers, and contemplatives. Mountaintop offers superb stargazing, swimming, fishing, hiking, strenuous mountain biking, camping, serenity, peace, and connective nature immersion. There are currently three sites: the MountainTop Cabin (sleeps up to 4); the Retreat Cabin (sleeps up to 4): and the Fern Grove campsite (sleeps up to 4). You can book a cabin or the campsite for your family, or the whole place for a small group by booking each site--that will ensure privacy. Last year we hosted wellness retreats for small groups at this little oasis tucked in the mountains of gorgeous West Virginia. You'll be surrounded by one hundred acres of mountainous terrain full of trails, creeks, apple orchards, and thousands more acres of National Forest. We are outside of the town of Beverly up a winding, country road. The town of Elkins with more restaurants is about 15 minutes away. Snowshoe Mountain and Timberline Mountain are both one hour away by car. Popular destinations nearby include The Forks Restaurant, Mi Fiesta restaurant, Seneca Rocks, the town of Bemis, Mule’s Hole, Dolly Sods, Spruce Knob and Blackwater Falls for outdoor adventures. Nearby ski resorts are Snowshoe Mountain and Timberline Mountain. The historical towns of Davis and Thomas are within an hour. Note: For the safety of our other guests, you will be required to present a valid government-issued photo identification. We hope you appreciate this extra layer of security for a peaceful stay.

Camping at Lazy River Farm

Learn more about this land: Lazy River Farm has so much to offer. Tents sites are in a wooded setting, on a beautiful hill, spread out for privacy. Camp sites also have fire rings with wood available for you to use. Campers are welcome to use any wood that's on the ground near or around your site. Camp sites can be accessed with a 4 wheel drive vehicle or walk up the hill to your site. With easy access down to the river, you can cool off in the beautiful Cow Pasture River. Glamping in the Vardo Wagon is another option, with its close proximity to the river and cozy interior. The Gypsy Rose sleeps 2, but can sleep 2 additional guests with a tent. Rent kayaks or paddle boards if you want to go on beautiful floats that wont disappoint you, paddle boards and kayaks are available for free if you paddle near the farm. (Life jackets not provided but are required) drop in a line to fish, or simply sit by the river and listen to the soft rapids. Lazy River Farm is a working farm, with lovely Scottish Highland Cattle, pigs, chickens, horses and livestock guardian dogs.. Your welcome to come and pet the animals. Do not feed animals. Do not go into fields or stalls with any of them. Nearby there are vineyards and breweries, the beautiful historic Masonic Theater, C&O heritage center, miles of back roads to explore, as well as local restaurants. Ravens Roost at Union Springs

Welcome to Ravens Roost at Union Springs. This started as a conversation and ended up as a reality dream. Ravens Roost is a 22 foot Nomadic tipi that was hand crafted and painted on the outside with rising mountains at the bottom, flying ravens in the middle and a full moon at the top . The tipi has 1 queen size bed and a single wood platform with a mattress (comfortable stay for three), two nightstands, a small dinning table with chairs, a propane fire place for the winter that has a fan that can be operated by a generator that is provided for your convenience for power and a fan for the summer. Room for a couple tents in the gravel area or behind the tipi in the woods (WE DO NOT RENT TENTS) but for an extra cost for spots and can be added under extras and can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children under 12 per tent. Tents put up without permission or paid for will result in termination of your stay and money. On the outside you have a fire pit with 4 custom made chairs so you can sit around the fire and enjoy the stars and the sound of the outdoors. There is also a Blackstone grill to cook your breakfast, lunch and dinner unless you want to cook over the fire. You also have access to a custom made cooler to keep your stuff cool. This is a dry tipi with NO running water (So you will need to bring drinking water) we will provide some water for cleaning, washing off and drinking and a outside porta potty is available with toilet paper and lighting. You can warm water up by the fire and use the water basin to wash off, clean dishes and utensils after you cook your food. Ravens Roost is surrounded by Natural Forest right up the road so you can hike, ride bikes or ride through the trails and enjoy nature at its best. It is also not far from wineries, breweries, JMU, Bridgewater College, Harrisonburg, Bridgewater and Natural Chimneys. Bluestone Vineyard - 8 miles, Crosskeys, Marceline and White Oak Lavender Vineyards - 20 miles Three Notch'd, Restless Moons, Brothers Craft, Pale fire Brewing - 13 miles, The Alpine Goat Brewery - 19 miles Harrisonburg and JMU - 12 miles Bridgewater and Bridgewater College - 10 miles Walmart - 11 miles Ottobine Country Store - 3 miles Natural Chimneys - 11 miles What will be provided: Sheets, blankets, pillows, batteries, plates, forks, spoons and knives (could be plastic), dish detergent, dish cloth and dish rags, two rolls of paper towels small water kettle (to heat water, pot and pan, fire pit forks for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs and spatula for the Blackstone, 5 gallons of water for cleaning, wiping off, brushing teeth and drinking, lighting for inside the tipi, gas for the generator (generator will be full and additional 4.5 gallons in gas container), propane for Blackstone and propane fireplace (winter months) plus firewood for the fire pit and also a couple folding chairs in the shed You will need: Ice, additional water for drinking, any additional blankets, extra flashlights (some are provided), bath wipes for cleaning yourself and whatever else you need to have fun and enjoy yourself. We are pet friendly but only allow small to medium dogs only (2 MAX.), a pet fee will be charged and you will have to add the fee under extras. Please specify breed, weight and size. They will have to be on a leash and not left alone on the property and please pick up after your animal. Please do not bring pets that are not listed when renting this property. This is truly a unique stay that you will enjoy but it is the outdoors and in the mountains and not a luxury cabin but we have had a lot of fun and enjoy staying in the tipi and we hope you do as well.

This allows each camper their own privacy but also gives families and friends a location to enjoy within walking distance of each other. (Sites cannot be seen from one another).
