Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. This is a gated property, protected with a code, which you will be sent 24 hours before your arrival. The campsites are at the bottom of a long logging road so an SUV or AWD vehicle are preferable , especially during the wetter seasons. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy pool along the beach. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. Pets are welcome, there are private outhouses at each campsite. These outhouses are protected with a code, which is sent to you 24 hours before your arrival. You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful! Please note: It is very important that the number of people on site is accurate. My 30 acre farm has two campsites, (they are not close to each other) both allow pets and campfires (outside of burn bans). One campsite is a beach on the North Fork Stilly, it is shaded most of the time, the sun lovers can paddle with their kayak or wade across to sunbath on an island across the river. tent campers can locate their car or truck on dike and move their supplies on to camping area.. trucks with campers can set up right on dike over looking the stilly. Rigs can set up in the field by the dike!! the outhouse is back for the season!!! The second campsite is on 4 acres you will have to yourself by a creek; Rhodes River Ranch Restaurant is walking distance away to go enjoy dinner; the Whitehorse trail for biking or walking is only a mile away; Enjoy the view of Whitehorse and three fingers mountain. Lake Cavanaugh is nearby, and regional activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking, , paddling, wind sports, and off-roading. Our guests love staying with us: "Our stay at River Side was wonderful! The campsite is very large, with a picnic table and great little beach area. If you're looking for a nice and easy get-away from the city, especially for larger groups, this is the perfect place! Rhonda is very communicative and a great host. End of the road. Start of an epic camping weekend. River to the side, Cascade foothill surround. Each site has river access except for lookers left which is not accessible due to the steep grade. Close to the north cascades. Minutes from live music, bars and quality mexican restaurant. Rails to trail for bikes and walking. Tward the end of july the river starts to recede opening up more possibilities of having interaction with the river. That being said its crucial you keep an eye out on your kids. We are 5 minutes from Bailey's Corner Store, Whidbey's best burger joint, which has great music various nights of the week, and Ogres Brewery which also has great entertainment and beer. Langley and Freeland are each 20 minutes away. Note that all sites are TENT-ONLY sites. There is no car, roof-top tent or RV camping availability.

The site was great, exactly what we needed visiting family in the area. It was overcast and drizzeling when we pulled in but the next morning the skies parted and what an amazing view of Mt. Baker and Hood Canal. We are at the longest recommended length for the site - a 30 ft, 5th wheel. Getting in was no problem. Getting out took some basic experience maneuvering the turn. All in all, it's a great site. Absolutely recommend.

Jeff was a great host with communication and hospitality. His location was nice with the view of the water, cascades, and Mt Baker! 30amp power and water hookup worked as expected and the firepit was a nice touch.

Beautiful piece of property, very well maintained. I loved having the farm animals around but still feeling secluded. We were the only people who stayed overnight. The goats were so sweet and loved to be pet! Both owners were wonderful to work with!

Weekend Trip to Private Beach, 15 Acres, Vashon
This was one of the best places we have stayed (25 ft Motor-home) with a gorgeous view, super quiet and a fairly empty beach to walk down to where the dog could run free. Will be back since this is a great place to play and Vashon is fun to walk around and get some goodies. On the way , Point Defiance is a great park to check out too.

We loved camping here! The site was clean and spacious. Loved how easily accessible everything was. It was beautiful and it was awesome to be so close to the river. The host was so cool as well! We will definitely be back!!!
