Rivers and active volcanoes are only some of the sights to see while camping near Selah.
Selah’s plentiful apple trees, beautiful nature, and camping experiences make it a worthwhile northwestern stop. Head north to Teanaway Community Forest to go biking along the Yakima Basin watershed. Don’t skip the hiking trails past Teanaway River and Cheese Rock while there. Find a tent site or RV site just outside the forest with a dump station, full hookups, and a fire ring. More forested accommodations are in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, an expansive park that includes Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, and Cowlitz Valley. Tent camping here offers modern restrooms, drinking water, and firepits. Glamping isn’t out of the question—look out for Hipcamp cabins with bedding, a hot tub with a gazebo, and kitchen equipment. Just north sits Mount Rainier National Park, known for its active volcano that’s created five major rivers. Nearby, a campsite with access to hot showers, picnic tables, and flushing toilets is ready and waiting. Winter campers can also stay in a private cabin for year-round comfort with warm bedding and free wifi.
