Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. These camps are on a 24 farm with about 3,500' of frontage on the Entiat River. The land's history has included use as pasture, orchards, and flower farm. It's currently identified as a USDA type silvopasture farm. The priority crop is growing native fir trees that will be harvested in 60+ years as telephone poles. During this time, the land will be grazed by a variety of livestock balanced to keep fields and animals healthy and productive. The current owners purchased the farm fall of 2023 from a family estate that owned it since the 1970s. It is considered a legacy project as work progresses to Firewise the land in support of old growth native trees and maximum summer shade for salmon. During the 2025 grazing season, the NE pasture of 5 acres along the river fed 8 Katahdin Sheep. In Spring 2026, bison, cattle, and goats will be moving into the SE pasture of 7 acres that climbs the mountain along the west border. The site can accommodate up to two RVs or 3-4 tents depending on the distance apart. We allow up to 6 people per booking. The firepit and the Snoqualmie River are about 150' away from your tent or RV. We have a porta-potti at the camp site and also two picnic tables. Pets are welcome at our HipCamp, but we do require that you clean up after them. Near North Bend there are several hiking/biking trails including the trail up Mt. We have alternate arrival instructions for you after you book. These instructions add about 7 minutes (totaling 8 minutes) from SR 18 to the campground. Our location is convenient. We are just minutes from Auburn city limits. Road noise, planes, Pacific Raceways, and freight trains are audible here even if muffled by the trees. Our distant neighbors occasionally indulge in target shooting. We have a brand new neighborhood in construction on one of our property lines. In order to provide safety and peace, hosts live just outside the campground and closely manage happenings. All our sites have 2-4 persons occupancy in hopes of deterring parties. Our quiet hours are 8pm-8am so we can rest up for the next day’s adventures. Propane stoves are welcome during fire bans. We do not have a check in cut-off time. Reservations do need to be made before midnight. We have zero tolerance for hateful, abusive, or discriminatory behavior toward people, belongings, and wildlife. The 40+ year old trees and distance between the campsites provides space for you to bring and create your own vibes. Hosts should only approach you with safety or quiet hour concerns. The levees on the east and west sides of town are perfect for hikes along the rivers. The 20 mile Foothills Trail meanders right through the middle of town and then takes you along the Carbon River levee. Bike, walk, take the stroller and the family pet. Such a magical little spot with the best hosts! Nothing like a crackling fire right next to a picturesque river. The sauna absolutely made the trip with a warm spot to relax in the cold of winter. You can see the river from inside too. All the amenities you need for some excellent glamping! We went up to Scenic Hot Springs and then stayed here. The perfect little getaway with my spouse.

Weekend Trip to Ascent Basecamp

We camped at Ascent Basecamp in mid October and enjoyed our stay that we booked again this last weekend in mid November despite the pouring rain each time because of the beautiful riverside setting and shared covered kitchen with the essential wood stove made it that cozy! The drive to experience the fall leaves and a visit to Leavenworth were calling! I actually loved the trains across the highway and the river sounds which drown out any traffic noise from the highway. The camp caretakers were all helpful and the sauna experience was great the second time after the wood was sorted.

We stayed for 2 nights to explore the surrounding area in Carnation, Fall City, and Snoqualmie and this site was perfect. Only 1 RV spot so you don't have any other campers around. Adorable goats, sheep, and pig next to the RV site so we were able to watch them while eating breakfast. Amazing sunrises and beautiful view of the mountains and morning fog. Quiet and serene. Host was incredibly gracious and offered us a farm tour. It was a bit of a tight squeeze to get on the driveway from off the road, but other than that, it was great.

Weekend Trip to Ascent Basecamp

Instructions for arrival were great. We got to campsite after sunset, in the middle of rain, after hiking Colchuck Lake. Finding site was easy, and description is accurate. Was a little concerned about possibility of traffic noise, but Mark was spot on, you won’t hear a thing! Waking up the next morning to the sound of the river was awesome. Facilities were clean, and sauna looked very inviting. We will definitely be back, this site is surrounded by places we want to explore.

Loved the site, will say be on the lookout though on wild animals as we had an overnight visit from some coyotes so keep that in mind for small animals if off leash. Only con is mainly a 1 way road once in property so when we arrived there was another vehicle trying to leave so caused some issues. Overall beautiful and clean worth the trip over!

beautiful cute and quaint campsite. lovely couple that gave so many great recs and info on the site. celebrated my friends bday and first time camping for him and he said it was a lovely experience. very well kept area and grass was still soft in late sept. 10/10 would recommend especially if you dont want to camp with other campers around and prefer more secluded area without it being too far from the city (30 mins away from downtown seattle) and owners are nearby but never saw them throughout the trip just to say hello and goodbye:) thank you for the beautiful stay. also depending when you go they have lots of fruit - apple on trees and grapes on the vine in late September!

This spot was nice, flat ground for leveling trailer. Very well kept and clean. You can tell the place is loved. Super spacious and clean bathrooms and showers. Do have to pay for shower, so bring quarters! The squirrel tree restaurant was nice with a coffee shop as well. Bar was off the hook with live music on Saturday night (stopped music by 930 to not annoy campers.)

Absolutely wonderful experience. Beautiful camp ground, and the property managers are exceptionally kind and helpful. Trails through the woods, little nooks and crannies to explore with treasures left like hammocks and tables overlooking the valley. Very clean, very safe, very secret, and very affordable. On a scale of 1-10, easy 10. I highly recommend.
