Pleasant Places

3 sites · RVs, Tents14 acres · Onalaska, WA
Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, family reunions, workshops, or what have you. A rustic kitchen, two 6' folding tables (bring tablecloths), and a fire pit with accessories make setting up camp a cinch. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest here for everyone. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle vacation. Locally, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Even closer, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing opportunities, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids and is just five minutes down the road. Enjoy communing with our goat, chicken and duck friends. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum. Bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a play field (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, badminton set and lawn games. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. If you do book, we are certain you’ll enjoy making Pleasant Places your outdoor home-away-from-home.

Erosia Land Sanctuary

7 sites · Tents13 acres · Shelton, WA
Erosia is 13 acres of wooded lands and boasts a couple of truly unique features. We honor our trees, especially the one with the woman's figure in her trunk, her arms held up to the sky. We call our big leaf maple Blessing Tree "Ambrosia of Erosia". We also have a 45 ft memorial labyrinth we're still working on, but is walkable (3 times in and out is nearly a mile). We are 1 hour away from the ocean at Ocean Shores (near Aberdeen) where you can drive to and hang out on the beach, fly kites, book a fishing trip, etc. We are also about an hour away the other direction to Lake Cushman where one can swim or hike up to the Staircase area where you will enjoy old growth forests. It's only half an hour to drive to Olympia to enjoy all the foods, the state capital buildings with museums, an award winning Farmer's Market, etc. An hour gets you to Tacoma, and with good traffic Seattle is an easy day trip with southern locations accessible in an hour and half. It's 2 hours to Portland, if you go south. It's easy to say we're CENTRALLY LOCATED and most all of western Washington is accessible with a day trip. We are still developing our lands. Currently we DO NOT have potable water onsite. Please pack in all the water you need and use the swimming hole and/or our local YMCA for bathing needs. We do have an ADA portapot onsite for a toilet. We are working on putting both picnic tables on each campsite. If you need table(s) or chairs please ask as we are happy to lend if we do not have a big event happening where we need them. Each site offered here has a fire pit with a metal fire ring to sit around and roast marshmallows. We can provide fire wood or provide your own. Karl and Sarah run a business making spiritual tools and gifts from wood from their shop(s) on the Land so they are around most of the time to answer questions and get you settled in. (www.rareearthdesigns.net) Right now they are working out of temporary shops as they work on building the permanent shop building. (There is no loud building noises currently, though. It's quite peaceful upon the land of Erosia.) More on our structure: The service-side of our Land Sanctuary is organized as a non-profit and donations to the creation and/or caretaking of the labyrinth over $50 we gift a memorial brick one can set in the labyrinth. Our for-profit business, Rare Earth Designs, donates the engravings. We will eventually have a retaining wall that can be used for seating and the labyrinth will be available to rent for weddings, memorial services and other ceremonies as well as regular walking meditations. This HipCamp site, though, is Sarah's personal business as she currently owns the biggest part of the Land and is basically the orchestra director of the Land as the "Lady of the Land". We're still growing and developing the Land, our Services and our shop and would love to show you what we are working to create.

Blue Sheep Farm

4 sites · RVs, Tents19 acres · Mossyrock, WA
Nestled in beautiful Mossyrock, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains just off White Pass Scenic Byway in western Washington state, Blue Sheep Farm is less than a mile away from one of the best fishing holes in the state (Swofford Pond), and from Riffe Lake’s heavily-booked Mossyrock Campground. Our 20-acre property features densely-forested mountainside trails, a seasonal creek and pond, with a variety of hardwood and evergreen trees. Surrounded on three sides by Christmas tree farms, our farm is the last bit of wilderness left in the area. Only an hour from Mt. Ranier’s legendary winter sports, with hiking, fishing and festivals all both here and nearby, our farm provides a perfect Base Camp for your any-season getaway! Your campsite has 15a power and water, and gravel parking, and is located by the beautiful Western style brown barn at the end of Naylor Road (at the "End of County Road" sign). Note that the site has been leveled but is NOT perfectly level; it is however within the typical leveling ability of RVs at the size limits stated. The farm is located on a steep hillside (12% grade); there is only so much we can do. But the stunning views more than make up for any inconvenience, in our experience. Ovis Aries is the scientific name for “domestic sheep”, and indeed, we raise Romney sheep of all colors on our farm! You may also meet our sweet and friendly Morgan Horse mare, Naya, who likes to follow visitors around like a very large dog. We also have a small orchard with apples, persimmons, cherries, blueberries, and a pear, peach and almond tree beside the barn. We farm using organic, no-till, permaculture, silvopasture and forest grazing practices, and the sheep are entirely grass-fed, producing meat of the healthiest-possible quality. If fiber arts is your jam, we have a beautiful wool workshop, with a 40" 4-shaft, 6-harness Louet Hollandia floor loom, a 32" Harp rigid heddle loom, 5 spinning wheels, a drum carder, and numerous other fiber tools for scouring, prepping, spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting and knitting wool. One on one and small group classes are available with reservations. We also have a business center, including fast StarLink Wi-Fi. Farm Tours are given on request.
