Cabin in the woods

1 site · Lodging7 acres · Northport, WA
There was originally a camper parked here with a roof over it while the main house was built back in th 1970s. When the home was finished the camper was moved out and it was turned into the cabin. It originally had a wood stove but it was always to hot so we replaced it with an electric heater and at the same time remodeled the interior. It is very comfortable for two to three people as it only has the bunk beds. Additional bedding can be furnished when needed. Included in cabin is a frig, microwave, small closet and dining table with 4 chairs. And a cabinet with pots, pans and silverware for your convenience.Learn more about this land:Country cabin on the treeline at the base of O'tool mt. Across the street from Lk. Roosevelt. Includes bunk beds, frig, microwave, hot plate, coffee pot, toaster, dining table, small closet, firepit with firewood and horseshoe pits with shoes. One mile to boat launch. Ten miles to nearest loaf of bread. Close to logging roads. you will have aprox. one acre to yourself. Quiet and secluded, but we are close by if ever there is anything you need.

Highland Glenn Ranch

2 sites · RVs, Tents45 acres · Republic, WA
Welcome! Leave the noise and bustle of urban life behind, and settle into the peace and beauty of our off-grid ranch in Washington’s enchanting Kettle Range. Dark skies make for unparalleled stargazing! Highland Glenn Ranch is located 15 miles north of Republic, WA in Ferry County. We love hosting our campers! A resource book is available to borrow with listings of local attractions, outdoor activities, shops and restaurants to help you plan activities during your stay. We are happy to help make your stay on our Ranch special! ~ If visiting Canada is of interest, a scenic 30-minute drive further north along the Kettle River takes you to the border crossing at Grand Forks, BC. If you have questions about the campsites, please let us know. If sites are booked, contact us - we may be able to create a spot just for you! We have room to grow but are doing it slowly. The day of your booking we will reach out on your ETA. First-time campers, we always meet and greet you at the gate and escort you to your spot, so please arrive as close to Check-In time as possible (3 pm). ~ Some folks may need to check in later, and that’s okay! Just please let us know. If you tell us you’ll be here at 5:30, we’re sitting and waiting for you. If you’ll be late, please be courteous of our time and let us know. Communication goes a long way! ~ NOTE: we don’t have cell reception and we’re only online once each day. After booking, we will send you our home number to call for communication. Although the campsites are secluded, the sound from neighbors in the valley below travel during the day. Also, this is a working Ranch, so please be aware that there are sounds associated with our activities- the sheep and goats get excited at feeding time; the dogs bark while doing their jobs, sometimes during the night; the rooster announces the break of dawn. However, none of that detracts too much from the soothing music of the forest! Another Note: it is 3 miles along a dirt road to reach the Ranch; at various times of the year it is quite bumpy. And dusty! Acres of forest allow for outdoor games, fort building, and woodland exploration! ~ Take in the native flora and fauna on our self-guided "Woodland Walk". ~ The Ranch is perfect for bird watching and stargazing! ~ The Ranch borders State Land and is within 1 mile of the Colville National Forest which means endless miles of picturesque hiking and wildlife viewing! ~ The nearby Ferry County Rail Trail is a must-do. ~ Swimming, fishing, boating, and water skiing are only 15 minutes away at Curlew Lake State Park and the Kettle River. ~ One bundle of firewood, 15 gallons of potable water, and a compost toilet are included with your stay. BYOTP though. :) ~ Ranch-grown eggs and organic produce for your meals are seasonally available for purchase. WILDLIFE: There is a wide range of wildlife around the Ranch- snowshoe hare, grouse, turkey, bobcat, Canada lynx, coyote, cougar, wolf, and black bear. Please use common sense while camping! Always be aware of your surroundings. Keep garbage secure in a vehicle. - There are also ticks in the area!

Trumpkinland from Narnia

6 sites · RVs, Tents95 acres · Washington 99114, WA
Trumpkinland Farm is part of what used to be an old dairy owned by one of the original settlers in this area. It is set in a rolling valley, surrounded by hills, mountains, and heavy forest. It is once again a dairy, with a name hearkening to Narnia, the books by C. S. Lewis. It is also, however, now a smallish family sized farm with many other species added to the mix. I raise a rare breed of dairy cow and several breeds of fiber sheep along with heritage pigs. Geese wander freely, along with a few turkeys. If you enjoy animals, there are many kinds of them here and most are friendly! Learn more about this land: First, about my farm name:  My daughter had been reading The Chronicles of Narnia when we befriended and helped an orphaned little fawn, and she immediately named it Trumpkin, after one of the characters in Narnia. This is where her Trumpkin lived and grew up, and so this became Trumpkin's land AKA Trumpkinland Farm.  Over the years a number of deer have come to trust us enough to get relatively close and eat with our animals. Come camp with your tent or self contained RV in our private woods or meadows and enjoy our wild and domestic friends, too, in the beautiful, magical inland northwest!  You can have total privacy, and yet be a short walk from the main farm and a short drive to local natural attractions. There are trails to explore in almost all directions. Some camping sites can be driven to, primarily in the upper meadow, depending on your vehicle. If choosing to be deeper in the woods,  tent camping will work best in most spots, with a carry it in and park either in the meadow or down by the farm proper. If you are tent camping, don't forget a good pad under your sleeping bag! The ground is hard, uneven, and in some places rocky! As this property is also a farm, if you run short of food supplies, or want to buy some of what is produced right here on the farm, there are many options for that! From the gardens to wild fruit foraging, farms are all about food. Farms, camping, and the woods are also about relaxing. In this cannabis friendly state, if you choose to really RELAX, please relax respectfully. With fiber animals in residence, handcrafted socks, sheepskins and an assortment of hand spun gift items are available for purchase. Periodically classes are offered on old time crafts; let us know your interests when you book your time with us.

Riverfront Forested Campground

1 site · Tent720 acres · Ione, WA
After Matt’s career in lumber wholesaling and Susan’s in environmental activism, getting back to the land has meant planting thousands of trees, thinning and pruning to optimize stand health, and looking through life’s long lens with an awareness that we only care for a parcel a brief while then pass it on. In sharing our love of this place, in welcoming others to walk, play or to sit quietly in the forest, or at river shore, like a rising tide, we’re all lifted. Learn more about this land: A 30 acre riverfront forest with campsite, a fire pit and our welcome to wander alongside Pend Oreille River frontage. All enjoyed in solitude.  The 719 acre farm is operated by a community of elders who revere the out-of-doors, believing immersion in nature naturally, quietly teaches. It makes for better humans-being. Hipcamp dollars support natural means of improving soil health on the farm. Camper's choice of homemade cinnamon rolls or scones on the first morning, a 16x16' tent platform, Separette toilet, potable water, dock for fishing or foot dangling, warm-weather heated water for rinse-off (sort-of showering) and a canoe to enjoy. Controlled, A friendly four-legged companion that can be trusted to not chase wildlife would also be welcome.  *Please let host know in-advance of intention to bring a pet. We ask that no fireworks or firearms be brought or used onsite. Because wildfire risk is almost always a concern. the fire pit, equipped with kindling and dry tinder (plus water to dowse) may not always be available. We suggest campers come equipped with binoculars, mosquito repellent and this year particularly, please be tick-aware. An acceptance of risk/hold-harmless waiver of liability will be provided all guests upon booking, returned at time of visitation (or prior).
