We loved our brief stay. It was well maintained and clean, and with the doors and windows opened it stayed cool with a great breeze. Yellow jackets were out but the breeze helped with them too.

Weekend Trip to KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN
This place was lovely! We went so wee could go to the goldendale observatory to catch the meteor showers, and the stars out there are incredible. We also got some pastries at the Greek Orthodox Bakery which were delicious, and checked out the Stonehenge and the Maryhill art museum along with exploring more spots along the Columbia. There’s so much to see here!
I love how they have set it up. When we stayed it was a hot weekend (105 degrees!) and so I’m so glad we stayed here instead of in a tent, the bed and the couch were comfortable, there was everything we needed inside and it cooled down enough at night with the windows open (yay for screens on the windows for bugs!) that we could all sleep! I’ve already recommended this beautiful spot to some family and friends.

This was a beautiful and peaceful site! The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed and the host was very kind and thorough with all the information we needed. Bring sheets and bug spray and you'll have a wonderful time.

The place is amazing. Where you trade traffic noise for wind blowing through branches. Trade fir for oaks… so many oaks. Buildings for clouds. What a view from the bedroom! Kitchen equipped. Just super fun and relaxing. Dog was wired when she arrived. 10/10 getaway.

We only stayed for one night at the cabin and wish we could’ve done two. This is a rustic cabin and we were prepared for that. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the gorgeous wildflowers and views, and the simple but comfortable accommodation. We had minor issues lighting the stove but followed instructions and the last reviewers notes and got it started. We didn’t shower, so can’t comment on that. The porta potty was very clean. We brought our camp lantern and mostly used that while we played games. Spring is a great time to visit and we’d definitely return.

2 nights at KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN
First time using Hipcamp and had a great time visiting this charming cabin. I loved all the artwork hung up and the old radio made the rustic atmosphere complete. Weather was perfect throughout our stay, with clear skies we took a trip to the Goldendale Observatory for their night tour which was amazing!
This place has a few toilet options to pick from; a port-a-potty, a compost toilet in the front by the shower, and a toilet in the shed. Plenty of utensils for cooking and a refrigerator/freezer. Bring your own sheets, we brought our own pillows and blanket, but there was a comforter and pillows there in case you forgot. The bed upstairs is a king-sized bed with a cot. The only minor complaint is that because this is a pet friendly place, naturally there was dog hair everywhere on the floor and furniture when we arrived which made it a little tough tidying up. Not too bothered by it since we were looking for a getaway and a little dog hair is nothing. Unless you have pet hair allergies, I highly recommend this place.

Gorgeous, Stunning view of Mt. Adam’s.
Peaceful. Cozy, charming cabin.
Very comfortable bed. Rustic Charm.
Obvious owners use and love the place themselves.
Fantastic location to explore area.
Stunning star-gazing and astronomy opportunity.
Cons/should know:
12 V cabin electrical. If you need to run devices on AC (laptop) you may need an inverter. Or bring extra power banks for your devices.
Overall, we had a great time and hope to return. ♥️

2 nights at KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN
Cute cabin in the middle of nowhere. Great place to really reset your mind. If you are someone who is used to primitive camping, then this is a place for you! If you are picky and expect higher end touches, this is not the place for you.
Pros: Quiet and very comfortable bed.
Cons: Not enough water on premises to take a shower (definitely bring your own). The shower is a portable propane heated kit that you need to set up manually.
If you urinate often in the middle of the night, going up and down the narrow spiral staircase will be an issue for you; the portable potty is outside.
There are no curtains upstairs, be prepared to wake as soon as that sun meets your eyes.
Don’t forget to bring your own towels, hand towels, and bed linen. Trust me, you will want them.
The propane “wood stove” took a bit of figuring out. The directions on top of the stove actually work better than what is in the owner’s welcome book. You will need to remove the front panel (door) completely by lifting up and out and manually light the pilot. Once it is lit, turn the nob below to on and switch to on (located on top of the device) at the same time. This will probably be difficult to do if you are visiting this place alone. Oh! And make sure the propane tank outside is on and that the orange nob behind the stove is turned to on, first, before attempting to light.
There are two doors: only one door opens. This cabin will be hot in the summer.

We loved staying in this cabin! Such a cool off-the-grid property with great star viewing and rustic charm. Ticks are out this time of year so plan accordingly, but it’s nothing to prevent you from enjoying this place. We had our two young kids who loved mucking around the property and exploring.

1 night at KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN
I had a great time visiting this cabin for one night, but I wish I'd planned to stay longer and may come back an do so. Great spot to get away from the city. The site is private and the landscape is really cool. Nice mountain views and lots of open sky to look at the stars at night. The cabin is very cozy with lots of big windows to enjoy the view. The king bed is really comfortable and there's lots of good seating. I appreciated that there were lots of surfaces since I had a little writing work I wanted to do while I was here. Would be great for board games and food prep too.

Weekend Trip to KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN
Honestly, needed this so badly. Kind of a last second trip after a different reservation fell through and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. Had the vibe of the kind of place you wish your family had so you could just pack up for the weekend and get away when you need to. Beautiful, unique property with incredible stargazing. As an aspiring carpenter, really appreciated pondering the craftsmanship that went into this place. Host is communicative and friendly. I left and immediately wished I could go back.

So…the place is awesome. No doubt. But we unfortunately booked during a big snow storm and couldn’t get our AWD vehicle up the hill to the cabin. We ended up hiking in, but had to bail because the snow kept coming. So, check the weather conditions in the winter before you book.

1 night at KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN
The location is beautiful, secluded and quiet. Cold out and big windstorm when checked in. Got the fireplace going and warmed the cabin quickly. @ 11 pm turned it off and cabin stayed warm all night.
Next day incredible sunrise...
Cabin is rustic and was expecting that and instruction book at cabin was helpful.
Owner was also helpful with updated instructions and day before communications.
We spent 3 nights.. great sunise, star gazing and sunsets.
Dog loved the freedom.

3 outlet/wall lights didnt work.
[Glad we brought our own battery laterns as it gets dark quickly.. the cabin does have a few]
Cabin was pretty dusty and might need a deeper clean.
We moved a blanket and it was full of dead yellow jackets.
The pink flags for the trail might need to be replaced. We accidentally found ourselves next to a trailer with dogs and realized we took a wrong turn. Having a actual Trail with not so much rocks would be perfect. Meandering around the property line woods and fields was beautiful just a quite a bit of trip hazards present.
Overall, it's a beautiful place restful, quiet, rustic & off-grid which we were expecting and wanted.
And close to state park. Hiked all day there and the cabin was great to come back to.
