We are pet friendly, and the property is completely fenced. Enjoy free unlicensed fishing on property in our small pond, stocked with catfish and bluegills, or let the pups swim away the summer heat. Enjoy a walk on the nearby Tobacco Trail, fish at one of the many nearby rivers and lakes. Roast marshmallows over a fire and stargaze or catch fireflies all night. All sites have access to a portable compost toilet, and we can provide water for the sun showers. We have tent sites, and an RV site, 420friendly but we do not partake. PLEASE NOTE: No Check In After 9PM! The camp sites are only available with direction of host ( new closer parking area and camp area access gate for 2025!!) Kerwin and his family saved my son's 16th birthday celebration. We made a reservation for tent style accommodations for the evening but when we arrived, it was FAR from what was advertised. We had to scramble to find somewhere else and Kerwin responded immediately to my almost 8pm request to book and answered his phone when I panic called. (This was literally 10 minutes after I requested to book, and he said he was right in the middle.of texting me back. The RELIEF I felt in that moment is indescribable) Kerwin and family are the sweetest and I cannot explain how grateful I am for their hospitality. The home was immaculate when we arrived and waking up to a field of cows and 2 of the cutest donkeys ive ever seen was amazing. The property, the people, the vibe, the atmosphere- its all perfect! Unfortunately we had to leave before we could meet Kerwin or his other farm animal family members in person,but we will absolutely be back! Maybe even to get married at their stunning wedding venue!!!! 100% perfect. Book it, youll regret it if you dont!

Charming farm filled with variety of animals. Owners are nice people with great hospitality. Definitely recommend the carrot cake and the french toast breakfast. Nice wooded area for camping site.The sunrise complete with foggy pastures. Would recommend and will return.

The Lodge was fantastic. Rustic but comfortable. It was nestled in the woods and close to everything. The property is beautiful. There are plenty of views and things to do. The hosts have thought if everything. Battery packs provide power for phones, fans, etc. A filled ice chest was provided for us upon arrival. Complimentary water, coffee, and tea. A large area for parties, a charcoal grill (In a steer sculpture, lol), small gas grill, and a pizza oven! Outdoor games, basketball, horseshoe pits, cornhole... They even have bamboo fishing poles for the pond!

Amazing! My daughter and I had SUCH a fun, relaxing experience! The property has lots to do, is beautiful, cabins are awesome and clean, and we felt safe! We particularly enjoyed the pickleball court:) Decorations/decor are so well done- lots of thought and care have gone into this place. Lacie and Doug were the kindest people I have come across in a long time. They cared about my comfort level and were extremely accommodating. They have such a beautiful relationship with their animals. There are a lot of camp sites to choose from and their house has an authentic farm feel. The French toast was delicious. They made it easy to check in and out. I would HIGHLY recommend this experience. I can’t say enough positive things about this family. They have a wonderful son who was very helpful. I loved “The Retreat” on Jim & Becky’s land. This site is like a “camping venue” I can envision a small wedding or a couples trip here. They have a gas grill if you don’t know how to charcoal grill and the shower gets really hot. I like how they also inform us if there are others staying anywhere else in any of the other cabins so it helped give others privacy and not explore “too far”.

I had a fantastic time at Reckless Raven! I really enjoyed meeting the sheep, goats, and horses. Doug and Lacie were very generous hosts and I felt right at home there. The campsite itself was beautiful, next to fields and trees with just enough space from the other campsites. I'd absolutely stay here again next time I'm passing through Virginia.

I stayed one night at Lacie and Doug’s farm while on a long bike ride, and it was perfect. The tent was roomy, comfortable, and had everything I needed after a full day on the road. The farm itself is quiet and peaceful, a great place to rest and recharge. Lacie and Doug were wonderful hosts—friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to. I really appreciated their hospitality and would definitely recommend their place to other travelers passing through.

The road to the first pond is drivable, but it is a dirt road. The place is peaceful and quiet. We are four miles from a major Interstate, I 85. The exit is 24 Meredithville. We are twenty minutes from a nice town called South Hill in Virginia. Richmond is an hour away. Our ideal residents will have a nice tent, or a camper, and could bring in a car too. One could bring in ATV’s too You will need your own generator. You will need your own water. Sewage from the camper will have to be taken to a standard dumping facility. The farm has enough trails to enjoy horse back riding, if you have a horse. ATV’s are welcome. We are asking 2,000 Dollars per month as ground rent, and to have exclusive rights to fishing and hunting on the farm . The rent can increase with the number of people. The spot is for short term spring and summer stay and not a permanent abode. If interested, you could check it out.
