We love love loved to spot. We spent Christmas here and got several inches of snow - with the wood-burning stove we were so cozy. And the views are to die for. 10/10 would recommend 👌🏼

INCREDIBLE
The cabin is gorgeous, overlooks hills and forests, the wood stove kept us warm all weekend and the overall energy of the cabin is just really welcoming and lovely. Exactly what we needed. John was super accommodating, the lighting worked well, and we bought some maple syrup. Thanks John hope to stay up there again !!

We had a great time camping here! We participated in two glass blowing classes while we were there and Robert & Kathy were such warm and hospitable hosts! We enjoyed some great meals at their fabulous recommended restaurants and even had a magical evening star gazing at their grand opening of their Taft Hill Farm Observatory!

Robert was an amazing host and the campsite was serene. Right next to the river, a built in fireplace, private but accessible - I couldn't have asked for more. Robert was so accommodating and gave me a tour of his studio and let me watch some of the glassblowing in action. It's worth going out of your way.

Great spot, especially for fall camping. The fireplace throws off a lot of heat on the cold nights. The camp site was clean and had a solid picnic table. Make sure to look up Robert DuGrenier Glass Art Gallery for your directions, the entrance is between two guard rails right across the street. There's a steep downhill to get into the field. The GPS can send you to a road across the river if you aren't looking for the studio itself. We will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Julie and Jim's land with our pups! The property was beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly private. There was so much to do, from exploring the trails through the woods to relaxing by the water. We especially loved taking out the little pedal boat for a spin. Julie and Jim truly thought of everything to make the stay comfortable, and the bathroom was the best one we have seen on hipcamp yet. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, and we will definitley be back!

This Hipcamp sight was by far the best sight we have ever stayed on. They go above and beyond and absolutely are inspirational with what they have done . It was completely peaceful easy to get to with well marked directions. The grounds were manicured and they had everything we needed to be comfortable. They were very friendly and walked out to meet us after we arrived as if we were old friends. On a scale of 1-5 I give it a six. Perhaps the first sight we have stayed on we could not find anything to improve upon.

2 nights at Green Mountain Getaway
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and loved our time at John's place. We usually camp but didn't want to deal with all the gear this year. It is private, cozy, the wood stove is amazing! It was the first super cold night of the year, first frost, and we loved being cozy inside with the fire. The outdoor fire pit is great too with incredible mountain views. We had everything we needed, the cabin was perfect, even books/coloring pencils/games. John is responsive and an excellent host. We'd love to return and for a couple more nights next time!

This is a great camping site! Very quiet, private, and scenic. There was nice fall color during our visit. Lots of open space too! We were just here for a short weekend and I felt very safe as a solo female camper with my dog. The owner was available if I had questions and saved me a long trip to Walmart by recommending a local store I could go to when I needed to replace some gear that broke. She also had wifi information available so I could check in with people and get directions periodically during my stay. I would usually do that when I walked back towards the house for the bathroom or shower. It’s a couple minute walk from the back of the property where the campsite is. The shower was really lovely in the afternoons since it did get hot during the day during my visit. Because it was so private and the weather was nice we ended up leaving the rain guard off the tent and sleeping in the moonlight which was beautiful. We did swing by Stowe during our visit to walk the recreation path which wasn’t too far (although it felt so loud and bustling after being at the quiet campsite!) and we also went the other direction to Hardwick, Danville, and Dog Mountain in St Johnsbury. We also heard some barred owls while we were there (and lots and lots of geese!)

I almost want to keep the gem of a cabin a secret because it’s so wonderful! We had the most perfect stay. The cabin was peaceful, secluded, cozy and has an amazing view. We can’t wait to come back.

I loved the mountain cabin! My friend Brian and my canine friend Snoop Dawg had a relaxing time sitting by the fire and star gazing, the wood stove was toasty on those chilly nights, and the cabin was equipped with all that you need to cook over the fire or inside. I made an apple crisp over the fire pit our last night there after climbing Mt Ascutney. I would highly recommend this site and the host John was kind and accommodating!

Julie and Jim have done an outstanding job with Bumpa’s! Love all of the thought and details. The site is very private. the view of the pond is wonderful. Screened in pavilion is nice and has drinking water. Outhouse is clean with running water. The view of the pond is so fun and relaxing. We wondered through all of the trails. We did not want to leave and will return for sure! We road our bikes on the rails to trails. It is easy to break it into bits over days. And, we hit lots of breweries. All were very good.

Stunning views, fields, sunsets and stargazing while cooking and strumming guitar around a peaceful campfire with an orchestra of crickets. Then retreating to a cozy cabin with propane cooktop, solar lights, and bunk beds to clean up and curl up. So peaceful. My husband and I and our doggo had an amazing time. John was a gem. Great communication, great people. So many thoughtful details. Our only regret is that it was too warm to light the indoor wood stove.
