Fremont culture and Anasazi people were the first known inhabitants of the area. Petroglyphs, pithouses, arrowheads, pottery, and manos dating from A.D. 750 to 1250 found in the area are evidence that it was on a major thoroughfare of early indigenous peoples. At nearby Parowan Gap ancient people inscribed petroglyphs on smooth-surfaced boulders that feature snakes, lizards, mouse-men, bear claws, and mountain sheep. Located near the Parowan Gap there are dinosaur tracks. East of the Gap and petroglyphs hikers can discover Hadrosaurs tracks that were originally formed in non-resistant mudstone. Later, the Old Spanish Trail passed through the area. The nearby town of Parowan was founded in 1851, twelve months after Parley P. Pratt and members of his exploring party discovered the Little Salt Lake (dry lake bed) which is straight out from the property. The area was traveled by early settlers that used the nearby Red Hills to pass through the area to hide from aggressive Indians that hid in the nearby mountains that watch for them traveling on the Spanish Trail. Many arrow heads and artifacts have been found on and near the property. Later (early 1900's) sheep herders camped in the same place as the location of the property. More about this land: Wide open land up against The Red Hills (BLM land) near the small town of Parowan Ut. Beautiful vistas. Outdoor Model Train layout, Hiking and biking trails. Lake typically has water up to 3’ deep but is known to dry up in late summer. Petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks nearby. Water on property No public bathrooms.

Such a nice place! The woman who greeted me when I checked in was very friendly and helpful. The camp site was nice and comfortable. All tent sites have fire pits incase you're wondering since HipCamp claimed they don't. The bathrooms and showers were nice and clean and spacious. There is a laundry room with tables and a couch. There's a nice convenience store, a cafe, a pool, a playground, horses you can pet. I would absolutely recommend this place and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Beautiful scenery as well. There is a mountain in the distance with some nice hoodoos which is cool to see from your campground.

The campsites were very well cared for all of the facilities were immaculate, and our campground hosts came and introduced themselves personally and were very welcoming and available. Definitely one of our favorite campsites in the USA!

The campground is situated almost perfectly in between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. The grounds themselves are mostly shaded with a variety of site sizes for everything from a tent to a motorhome. The bathrooms are noteworthy for being up-to-date with granite countertops and tiled showers and toilet stalls...and super clean!!!! The grocery store on premises is ok with a good variety of basics.

1 night at Burger Barn Camp Out

We had such a great stay at Burger Barn! The site was really nice—clean, peaceful, and had full hookups, which made everything convenient. The location is perfect—a short drive to Bryce Canyon National Park and really close to the lake, so there’s plenty to do nearby. Ashlee and her husband Ahmad were incredibly kind and welcoming. They run the restaurant, but she was there to help us check-in and made sure we could find her if we needed anything. The food at Burger Barn was amazing and we ate there quite a few times during our stay. They sometimes have live music on the weekends, which we really enjoyed. In front is a really cute gift shop/boutique that has a variety if products -- freshly baked bread, apparel, candles, stickers, etc. We loved finding a few things to take home here. (There's also a general store that's right next door.) Would definitely come back again—thanks so much for the hospitality!

Sold everything we owned bought a Class A 38’ RV. Drove it once and we were hooked. Been at Burger Barn spot one 9 days ( GREAT) staff, food, peoples, and black dog. Time to move ion soon can’t live here 4ever HaHa. Highly recommended Burger Barn, but time to leave the nest to our second spot ever; I bet within a 9 mile radius of here only (baby steps). Weekend Trip to Cozy Cabins In The Heart Of Zion

I'm so glad I happened upon Rebecca's cabins! For a total steal you get to stay around an hour away from the main entrance to Zion. I loved staying in a local community, I felt totally safe (especially as a solo female). I loved coming home to a quiet local town. The land the cabins are on is spectacular, and the cozy cabin felt luxurious to come home to after hiking and exploring all day. :)
