Sandy Ridge Camping

We're happy that we can open up our land for campers. Before booking please read the following information and site descriptions. We operate a pecan tree nursery and Pecan Orchard. On the south side of the farmhouse is a 80-year-old huge pecan tree. You can enjoy wooded walking paths in the 90-acre forest and pastures, ponds and wildlife, including deer, wild hogs, hawks, owls, roadrunners, doves, cardinals, jays, woodpeckers, mockingbirds, and many other species of birds. Small mammals such as armadillos, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen, and the property is also awesome for stargazing. Please watch out for snakes, scorpions, pesky mosquitoes and ticks. This land has been a huge blessing to us and we hope you will enjoy your stay here. Arrival time should be no later than 9pm. Please inquire before booking if your arrival time might be later. Site #1: This is a big area and has room for several tents and vehicles. The ground can be a bit rough from chopped up bark and uneven ground. 

Outhouse is located near the farmhouse and in walking distance of camp sites; there is also a utility sink with non-potable water.

A Little Piece of Paradise

A little piece of paradise, a rustic country place near the sky to breathe fresh air, hear the birds sing, fish if you like fishing, enough space to walk among the trees and enjoy nature, if you are lucky you will see the deer or wild pigs . 

The property has a house, a cabin and in the middle of the two there is a pool next to a small lake (if Reserve it 3 nights the pool be came exclusive), a barbecue gas grill and tables for a small pool party

The property is outside of the city limits but is close to the city, 15 minutes from walmart. If you have specific questions fill free to text. Wifi upon request.

We have deer during the season, wild hogs, a temporary river, creek, several ponds to fish, area to to ride ATVs, many trees, plus we are working in developing for more activities in the future

Bruce’s Land

Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe.

There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver. 

Some of the wildlife we see regularly: fireflies, turtles, cardinals, bluejays, hummingbirds, kite birds, frogs, opossums, armadillos, beaver, river otter, road runners and rabbits. These plants live here too: Beautyberry, Dewberry, Pokeberry, Sparkleberry, Dogfennel, Dogwood, Yaupon Holly, Holly, Wax Myrtle, Sassafras , Lyreleaf Sage, Carolina Crane’s bill, Coral Honeysuckle, Western White Honeysuckle, Smooth Cat’s Ear, Daisy Fleabane, Prairie Onion, Mullein, Summer Grape, Water Lily. The entire water lily plant is edible, did you know?

Swim, hang out, cool down on the small swimming dock. Canoe and kayak included! Based on shared availability, we have 1 two person canoe, and 3 kayaks for use on our lake free of charge. There are smaller size adult life jackets and oars/paddles. Bring your own life jackets for kids.

Contrary to local rumor lol, we are not a “nudist resort”. But it is true that one of our campsites is very private, so one could dress any way they wanted while at that campsite. 

About the Bees

Please do not bring or use any insect killer or insect repellent other than what you apply to your own body. We have several honey bee colonies living here and our neighbor keeps bees as well. For the safety and health of our bees, the use of man made insect killers or repellents on the ground, in the air or on the foliage is absolutely not allowed. One natural remedy is diatomaceous earth. Sprinkled on the ground, it does a good job at keeping ants and crawling creatures away. 

Brookshire's in Hawkins less than 4 miles away if you need supplies.

Verizon, ATT users have cell coverage here, no signal for T-Mobile users.

Savannah’s Events @ Flyin H

The Flying H Ranch is owned and operated by Harlan and Sharon Ray. They have owned the ranch since 1995 when “H” retired from the Air Force. The Rays operate the ranch not only to run cattle, hay and horses but it is also an event venue and vacation cabin rental. The Rays, along with their children and grandchildren are seventh generation farmers and ranchers and would LOVE to share their ranch with you.Learn more about this land:Open area on working ranch. Hip campers will have to drive around the barn to get to our little camp site (please don’t let our ranch life equipment scare you off)

This our ranch entry. When you come go straight through the gate and take the first left. You will see the barn and the drive way beside it (take that and it will lead you to our campsite :)

Sleep Under the Pecan Trees

Explore the 100 acre property that has 15 designated camp sights.... The closest two are about 100 yards apart.  All the sights are near trees. Some Giant evergreens but most are near one of the 200 year old Pecan trees.  Creeks meander through the woods and all meet on the South side of the property. 9 Horses, 20 donkeys and the friendliest mule ever! They Dot the property. Also deer, recoon, squirrel  and an occasional armadillo may visit.  A Great stocked pond and 3 other ponds make for beautiful fishing and photos etc.

See if you can locate the natural spring. Many secluded wooded sites as well as open spaces to choose from. Watch the cattle graze the hillside and watch the beautiful sunset from many beautiful seclude settings. You might see deer in season, or see a new born calf. Cute historic town 5 minutes away.

Nicmic Landing

Peaceful country setting with gorgeous sunsets twenty miles north of Paris, Tx.  We have 2 small man-made ponds full of live bait (frogs)Dewberry (wild blackberry) vines along the fence line.  Several lakes nearby for fishing and boating activities.  Wild geese fly overhead from nearby preserve, as well as owls,  hawks,  and many others for the bird watching enthusiast.  Occasional deer graze on the property,  and the neighbors moo. Farm fresh eggs and home baked goods available for purchase on site.

The dock is super cute - fishing poles, a canoe/oar, and relaxing lounge spots! 

Land Of OZ

Land Of OZ is a place of peace and beauty. If you love the sun shine through the trees and beautiful pond surrounded by nature this is the place for you to come. Active chicken coop and garden. This is where we are now but I would love to have your input while here on how to make it a great place for all to enjoy.

Land of Oz! Sidewalk around one pond with bate fishing and a nice dock to sit and enjoy the surrounding beauty of towering trees. A bit of heaven.  There are several camp sites and room for 5 RV parking  hook up water and electric only. Peace and quite with the beautiful trees and ponds

This was our favorite swing. It had bells that sound like a windchime, and it's next to a garden bed that will probably be really pretty during growing season!

Fruit trees line the sidewalk straight to the spot where we pitched our tent.

You can pitch your tent anywhere you like, but this was our favorite spot. By the pond, surrounded by a creek, tucked into the trees. Felt very secluded, but was still pretty close to the amenities. 

My son enjoyed hunting for dandelions that had gone to seed.

We are a 175 acre family-owned Organic farm in North Texas. We focus on sustainability in our agricultural practices as well as in our daily lives. We live off the food and sales of the food the land provides. We have the highest respect for Mother Nature and expect ALL who stay out here to treat Nature with respect. Camp sites are all different and spaced from 300 to 1500 feet from each other. Trees include willow, bald cypress, oak, etc. This is a working farm with live stock so please no dogs, We currently have a composting toilet located near the campground. Fishing is allowed.  For a small fee  we will cut up some wood for your fire. Peaceful, cleaner air and if the are no clouds you can see lots of stars. Come out and enjoy our farm.

If you're lucky, Baxter the guard dog will be making his rounds.
