You can enjoy hiking, wildlife, interacting with farm animals at the Fabulous Bok Vegas Interactive Petting Zoo, tours, educational presentations, archery and more. 

The farm is close to fishing at Lake Palestine, First Monday in Canton and shopping in historical Palestine and Athens town squares.

We are a family owned and operated 25-acre farm.  We log and mill our own wood for construction projects, so expect to see stacks of limbs here and there as we continue to expand, especially during a burn ban.

Mallard Haven Retreat is located off US 287, halfway between Palestine on the north and Crockett on the south.   
The retreat and associated activities are part of our overall program,which is to provide a refuge away from the frantic pace of daily life.  We are somewhat sequestered from the outside world  so as to provide immersion in the sights and sounds of nature.  The setting is designed to be a place for relaxation and restoration of the soul and body through reading, journaling, quiet reflection, or simple camp activities such as hiking.  
Campers and visitors are expected to respect the land and natural features of the property as a gift from our Creator  to be used and  appreciated.  We treat the property carefully and honorably,  in acknowledgment we are the 'stewards' of the land.

3 L Farm

Within 10 minutes of Cedar Creek Lake! Back in the depression days, back before WWII, they cut off part of the river to increase food supply. Great for canoeing and fishing. We have 40 acres for you to camp on and have access to anything nearby. In the summertime, you can pick all the grapes you can possibly carry out of there. 1 hour from First Monday Trade Days, which is the largest flea market in the US! Learn more about this land:50 acres of land, located 10 min. from Cedar Creek Lake. There are also several other waterways for fishing and canoeing within 10 min. of this property. It is also 45 min. from the famous First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas. The property is a combination of rolling pasture and dense woods. Water and electricity are available at the entrance of property.

B2 Ranch Lake Cabin

B2 Ranch is a 1600 + acre working cattle ranch in Freestone County TX that consists of pastures, rangeland, woods and wetlands. Our goal is to sustainably run our beef cattle business in a way that is always seeking to enhance and improve the land as a whole. We sell pastured, grassfed veal and beef. It is located about 1.5 hours south of Dallas and 2 hours north of Houston. As a guest at B2 ranch you will have the opportunity to explore, hike, bike, kayak, canoe, fish, observe wildlife, or just relax. Also, the lake cabin is the only guest accommodation on the ranch, making it a true get away.The lake cabin at B2 Ranch is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin overlooking a 3 acre spring fed lake. The newly furnished cabin includes a king size bed, a pullout sofa, refrigerator with small freezer, microwave, tv with dvd player (no cable or satellite), and coffee maker with coffee. Linens, towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner are also included. A fire pit with cooking grill is located just outside the cabin as well as a charcoal grill. It does not include a stove or oven.As part of your stay at B2 Ranch, you have access to 2 kayaks, a canoe and flat bottom boat along with paddles and life jackets. The lakes on the ranch are stocked with bass and open for fishing.When staying at B2 Ranch you are free to explore and roam the ranch. There are miles of roads and trails where you can see an abundance of wildlife. Guests have access to the 1600+ acre ranch for most of the year. From October through December guests' access may be limited to 200 acres that is immediately around the lake and cabin. Please message us for more information.

Tara Vineyard & Winery estate

Peaceful, quiet, luxurious, historic, wine country experience. Tara Winery offers a unique vineyard and winery resort style experience.

TARA was named after the sailboat TARA, pierce family started the vineyard in 2006 and opened the winery in 2007. The historic Murchison mansion is an iconic structure in the midst of the vines. Onsite tasting room and restaurant with share plates and full meals. In 2023, we have added a beautiful 50 ft pool with lovely water features, there is an activity fee to use the pool.  Please plan to arrive before dark, so you can get settled in the daylight.  We do not have 24 hour staff.

Camping throughout the Tara Vineyard property.  We have primitive sites available in the wooded trail. If you would like a beautiful view of the winery property, ground camping throughout the vineyard is available and most popular ! There is quick access to our winery and food service if you prefer to relax under our covered patio, or pick up a rib eye or filet  from the chef and cook it yourself on your propane grill our our community grill. Enjoy your hand crafted estate wine from TARA winery while camping under the stars. You can be among others or select a remote location.  Fires permitted only in designed fire pits. No exceptions.
