Lighting Bug Acres

From a distance you may think that our place is like ever other place, but it's not. We pride ourselves on turning this once domesticated property back into it's natural state. With regeneration practices we have added native flowers, medicinal herbs and pollinators where acres of wheat once stood. We have activities for an additional fee such as taking a stroll with our certified master herbalist, pick some edible flowers in our "I Pick You" U-Pic garden, milk a goat, or  learn about how we implement regeneration practices just to name a few. There’s no pressure to add these activities so just relax and enjoy nature the way it should be, natural. 

Foraging is an added activity here at our camp. For an additional fee, our Certified Master Herbalist can take you for a walk and teach you how to make some teas or other things from the foraged plants.

4R Ranch Winery Campsite

Where the short-grass prairie drops into the Red River Valley, the 4R Ranch—with its magnificent vistas and rocky terrain—is perfectly suited for growing grapes. Patriarch W.C. Roper encouraged his family of sixth-generation Texans to share the beauty of this extraordinary place with others; and so it was love of this man and love of the land that inspired 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery. Chinquapin oaks, white-tailed deer, the endangered black-capped vireo, and the occasional Rio Grande turkey inhabit this incredible property. Powered by sun, earth and wind, 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery calls us all to slow our pace, enjoy the view, and sip a glass of wine in the magnificent Red River Valley.

Campsites at 4R are drivable so it's easy to drive in and leave your car and supplies at hand if you need to

Pull-Through Full Hook Up

All of our sites are full hook-up with sewer, water & electricity, 15/30/50 amp. We have plenty of shaded sites. We offer free basic wifi, a store with a variety of grocery items, RV parts, ice cream & bagged ice. We also have storage units onsite, a relaxing pool, propane filling station, laundromat, restrooms & showers, playground, & dog walk.

All of our RV spots come with water hookups, sewage hookups, and beautiful North Texas Hill Country views. The property offers unrivaled proximity to historic St. Jo and wine tasting treats. Escape the city to one of our country retreats and enjoy quiet days and star filled night skies. Relax in the country the duration of your stay or head into town and enjoy the best burger in North Texas at the Windmill Grill or some delicious BBQ and live music at Red River Station. Take a scenic drive to the vineyards in Saint Jo and enjoy the beautiful hillside views with a glass of wine. Be sure to make reservations for dinner at Prime Cut in Montague and find a treasure to take home at one of our area shops and boutiques.

4G Ranch at Tipps Lake

Relax on 26 acres of rolling pasture with native trees and a private 7-acre lake.

Enjoy huge Texas sunsets overlooking grazing cattle. Bring your kayaks or paddle boards to cruise on the private lake. Relax and read a book in the tree shade or hike around the lake. Check out our lake wildlife including plenty of waterfowl that regularly visit. Bring your fishing poles - the peninsula is a perfect fishing location on our stocked lake! Courteous canine friends are welcome. 

Our camping area is a graded grass and dirt area off of a gravel driveway with shade trees and a lake view.  Enjoy a peaceful camping setting. There is a shared water hydrant for the campsites. 

For bigger water and easy access to Lake Ray Roberts State Park, head over to the Johnson Branch of Lake Ray Roberts which is less than 15 minutes away. 

We are located next door to 555 Vineyard and Tasting room. Also, check out downtown Valley View with local restaurants including Blue Bonnet Cafe, York N Ale, Hess Meat Market, and Firelight Vineyard just 7 minutes away. Edge of the Lake Vineyard is also 7 minutes away.

Drinking water is available at the campsites from a water hydrant. No electricity is available at campsites. There are no bathroom amenities here. Guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them and leave no trace.

Adventure Creek Ranch

We have luxury treehouses nestled along a crystal-clear creek with 100 acres of hills and woods. Pecan and Oak trees fill the landscape as you meander through 2 miles of cleared forest pathways. We offer UTV rentals with hidden scavenger hunts.  Message us for the details.    This property sits on our working family ranch of 300 acres where we raise sheep, cattle, and chickens. Family memories are made here!
