Gypsy Moon Hideaway

Located at the end of the road. There is over 20 acres. Some cleared and some still in original woods. Trees, grass and deer everywhere. There is over a quarter mile of Brazos riverfront property although you cannot get to the river on all of it due to it being in its natural state. There is a beach at the main camp that provides easy in and out of the water. the water depth varies with the rainfall but is usually between 2-4 feet deep.

In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners!

Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs.

 We farm organic vegetables,  and have planted some fruit trees.

We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state.

 Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins.

 Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony.

 When the sun comes up, you'll have many choices to make--cycling, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddling, hiking, running, strolling, visiting with the goats, cats and chickens, helping with farm chores, or just sitting to enjoy the peace and serenity of the farm.

 There are many great shopping and eating choices withing 15 miles.

Breakfast will be brought to your campsite for an additional fee, booked in advance.

 Horse pasture rentals is available, also booked in advance.

 (We do not offer horseback riding,)  Eggs, local honey, seasonal veggies, baked goods artisan food products, goat milk products and firewood are available for sale.

 

No dirt bikes, ATVs or RTVs; no motorcycles except as transportation.  No discharge of firearms allowed.  No hunting, no bows and arrows, no fireworks.  Every camper group or RV group must have at least one person over 21 in the group.

We do not have any horses to rent or ride.

Trickle Creek Ranch

Trickle Creek Ranch was once a dairy, we purchased it 15 years ago and it has become a hobby ranch. We are also collector's of vintage RV's and currently have a 1952 Spartanette and 1968 Chinook on the property. There are miniature horses and longhorn cattle that roam the 12 acres. We have added RV spaces to share the ranch experience with others.

Rosie's Camping in the Suburbs

5 acres of woods and it is very private and secluded but in the suburbs. You definitely feel like you are much further awayLearn more about this land:Total privacy surrounding by pine trees. You can walk or bike through 7 acres of  forest trails. You can use ATV to ride through the woods. Have a party and enjoy the fresh air and not to far from Dallas TX. You will feel like you are 1000 miles way. Relax enjoy and experience country settings. Per person cost is $100 1 guest allowed. If your party is more than 20 please let me know for discounts. Very pleasant atmosphere!!!

Texas Lazy J Ranch

Our property is in the path of the vast area of the Chisholm Trail and in the Oliver Creek area where many  fossils have been found! We have found some rare fossils in size right here on our property and continue to look for more. Jesse James and his brother have a historical marker not far from our place where they had a campground. The bank where Bonnie and Clyde attempted to rob is located here in Ponder.Learn more about this land:We have a private cabin on the back of a 10 acre ranch with Fainting goats, chickens and horses to enjoy with great views across the prairie. 5 acres of mostly wooded area, rural farming area with cows, horses, sheep and goats in viewing area. Rodeo’s  5 times a year. March 19 2022 first rodeo of the year in the neighborhood within walking distance around the corner. Extra fee required for Rodeo.
