Little Bone Cave campground is in the mountains of Tennessee with hiking trails and a beautiful view located on 16 acres. This campground adjoins Bone Cave State Natural Area located in Van Buren County. Big Bone Cave is a 400 acre natural area with trails and a cave that contained bones of a giant ground sloth discovered in 1811 and is maintained by Rock Island State Park. The cave is not currently open to the public. Rock Island State Park (swimming, fishing and hiking) is only 6 miles from the campground and Fall Creek Falls State Park (swimming, fishing, hiking and home of the Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival) is a beautiful 25 mile drive through the winding roads and mountains of Van Buren county. A public boat ramp maintained by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is two miles away to access the Caney Fork River. Come enjoy with friends and family. Campsite #1, "Valley View" is a Rv with 30 amp electric with sewer and water or it can be a primitive campsite that is a wide open space and is approximately 1-2 acres with a beautiful view overlooking the valley below. We do have electric, sewer and water 340 gl tank with a hose, a picnic table and a fire ring at this site. if you'd prefer, you can locate a spot of your choosing off the beaten path anywhere within our 16 acres (ask the hostess for details). We now have rv hook up with a 30 amp electric service, sewer and water available. We have wildlife such as bobcats, coyotes, deer, owls, snakes, turkeys and rumor has it, maybe even a bigfoot. I hope you come enjoy friends, family and nature to make this an incredible experience.

On single family property, in farming community with cows nearby. Privately enjoy all 2.6 acres, with view of the surrounding mountains. Sequatchie Valley is between two long ridges of mountains. There are views everywhere you drive. When arriving, look for the white mailbox labeled 456 and turn in between that and the 456 sign on the ground (solar lighted). It is a long gravel driveway. The turn will be a tight fit for 35 ft rigs, but it is doable.

It over 900 acres of private forested land on Whitwell Mountain, which is part of the Cumberland Plateau in Southeast Tennessee. Take a hike on miles of trails comprised of forest paths, old wagon roads, or coal mining roads. If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir. If you are a history buff, you may be interested in discovering previous caretakers from the late 1800's and early 1900's in nearby cemeteries. The camp ground is on top of a mountain, and you will have to go through a locked gate and drive over a mile and half on a bumpy gravel/dirt road. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain. Day trips less than an hour away include the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Nickajack Lake and Bat Cave among many others. Come to hike, relax, bike, explore, and recharge.

Only short term stays please, no more than 60 consecutive days. Our single site offers water and electric hookups (50, 30, and 20 amp). We have a dump station on the property located just 200' from the site and we can provide a towable dump tank at no additional charge. Additionally, the site includes high-speed WiFi and Ethernet Internet access for your convenience. You'll have the entire front yard's approximately three, non-wooded, acres to walk dogs or simply enjoy a stroll. At night, the low light pollution offers amazing views of the sky while deer can often be seen crossing the property. Door Dash and other food delivery apps service this area. Plus, we're just 15 minutes away from several points of interest in the area, including the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex, MTSU, Stones River National Battlefield, and the equestrian center. Security cameras are in use on this property with one that can see the RV site from about 100 yards away. Other cameras can see the front yard. None of them are focused on the RV site nor is it our intention to monitor the RV site.

Howland's Hideout
