Wild Meadows atop Rutherford County

5 sites · RVs, Tents16 acres · Lascassas, TN
25 years ago, we camped this spot and dreamed of building a house here. The view was so captivating. Needless to say, we’ve been here 20+yrs and still camping our land. Now we are sharing the beautiful landscape and remote feel that's so close to so much to see and do. We love where we are and we think you will too. Oh and I should also mention, you must love dogs. We have 3 plus 2 cats and chickens. Isolated or wide open. 1 tent or group camping. No electricity or water hookups. Free Access to water hose. We do not allow recreational motorized vehicles, firearms or bows. This is a peaceful serene getaway. We also have Airbnb rentals that consist of our home, that's also listed as "Wild Meadows atop Rutherford County", a travel trailer referred to as "Wildwood 17' Western RV and an RV listed as "Boutique RV at Wild Meadows". See trees, birds, lightning bugs and gorgeous views of Rutherford county. 5 min. from water. Swim, bike, fish, walk or run. Boating 15 min. from Percy priest lake. 10 min. from Cedars of Lebanon state park. 5 min. from Murfreesboro. 15 min. from downtown Murfreesboro. On the city square, there's live music first Friday every month. Fantastic farmers market sat mornings in the summer, starting in May. Checkout “Quarter Spring Farm” goat soap booth. Tell Heather hello for us. Her lemongrass and clove soap are my favorites. 30 min. from Nashville. 5 min. from Greenway walking trails. 20 min. from shopping. Hundreds of restaurants within a 20 min. radius. Championship soccer park 10 min. Sports com 15 min./workout or Olympic size pool w/slides and fantastic playground with Amazing handicap baseball field. Historic: Stones River Battlefield 20 min. Oakland’s Mansion 20 min. Brand'n Iron Hills

4 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents40 acres · Dover, TN
40 acres Located in beautiful Dover TN 5 miles from Lake Barkley & the Cumberland River. Conveniently located a few miles from town, far enough that it is quiet, but close enough that it is not a long trip to town. The property features a variety of thriving wildlife due to our fresh water stream that gently flows through the property year round. The stream is roughly ankle to hip deep depending on the area. The water is crystal clear and safe to play in if you have little ones. Walk along the stream and discover all kinds of fish, turtles, beautiful river stones and possibly see a beaver or 2. If you have Archery equipment, you can use our Archery Range. The property is split by a 2 lane road. 7 acres to the North and 33 acres to the South. The smaller side is flat with many trails, fresh water stream and a gravel road. It features relatively junior trees and is home to a family of Whitetail Deer. The Southern side of the property features a mature hardwood forest full of giant white oak trees. Be sure to put on your hiking boots though, because there's a few Hills to climb. Three hills that form a beautiful valley in the center, with another fresh waterstream. The valley was once home to a 1700s settlement, so you may find some artifacts. (We just ask that you leave them where you find them.) Main trails are marked clearly with large reflectors for safety. With the near-by wildlife refuge you are sure to see and hear a variety of wildlife. We have large steel firepits in every campsite. So feel free to bring your own firewood! Enjoy a good book or nap while relaxing in a hammock. Swing with a loved one while over looking the fresh water stream. Walk down along the stream and collect rocks, feed the fish, or go for a dip! Currently our property is very Primative, whichever there is no electricity or plumbing. We do offer clean composting toilets & a locking gate at night for your security. **Cellular service is limited in some areas. Signal can be found by the road, or cross the road and take the trail up the 1st hill**

Calico Junction Ranch

20 sites · RVs, Tents101 acres · Hohenwald, TN
Located in the hills and high forests of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Calico Junction Ranch is a large, multi-faceted operation with over forty head of horses, breeding kennels for Long-Coat German Shepherds, and a modest Heritage Breed Hog farming operation. Occupied by Native Americans as early as 10,000 BC, the Chickasaw Indians hunted our hills in the 1500's, and the ranch property is located along the Cherokee "Trail of Tears." The ranch was later home to a miner named "Grizzly Jack"... You can visit his cabin during your stay. More recently, Calico Junction hosted benefits for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and we regularly host dinner trail rides on weekends. Calico Junction New Beginnings Ranch is our non-profit 501(c)3 providing Equine Assisted Therapy and a horse rescue. Because Calico Junction has so much to offer, we have joined Hipcamp in order to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful and relaxing ranch home. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent in a beautiful meadow not far from a pasture with horses. Choose a site close to the main ranch or as remote as you prefer. We are a family-oriented operation where children are welcome. Explore the ranch on foot or arrange for a horseback ride or two. Bring your binoculars and get up early to catch the Great Blue Herons feeding near the bridge. You'll probably disturb them, but if you're quick, you may capture a picture of the Heron's graceful flight. Go wading, collect rocks or hunt for arrowheads in Rockhouse Creek--you are almost certain to find them, the best free souvenirs! Take nature walks to see our abundant wildlife: deer, wild turkeys, foxes, rabbits and squirrels, because they play here too! Tour the kennels and walk or brush the dogs upon request. Tell stories or play your guitar as you enjoy a relaxing evening campfire. Then listen to the Whippoorwills as they serenade you to sleep. You must arrive 1 hour prior to sunset.

NOTICE: we are in transition. It's been a long time in the works but our Wellness Treehouse in nearing completion. The treehouse is not open yet but we are getting close! Camping is still available, if you do not mind us driving past the camping area to get to the treehouse. There is some construction and power tool noise at times. We are building the hot tub and cold plunge area, tree-nets and other cool features. We will gladly give you a tour of all the happenings. This is likely to be the state of our camping area April - May 2024. We normally like to provide total privacy to guest however the current state of development prevents that. If you are good with that, we would be glad to host you. If that doesn't sound interesting to you, give us a couple more months to get our treehouse fully operational and come see us then. Join Fern Gully camping club and come have some fun with us. Just 20 minutes south of I-40, tucked away in the hills and hollers of Hickman County TN, you will find a rural and peaceful little camping spot we call Fern Gully. The camping area is approximately 5 acres bordered on the south side by Fern Mountain and the north side by Morgan Branch Creek. Large grassy area with access to the creek. Price is for 6 per campsite. If you have additional kids, just let us know and you can bring 2 for the price of 1. Pitch your tent along the banks of pristine Morgan Branch Creek under mature Beech, Poplar and Sugar Maples, string up a hammock or come in your camper van. Deer frequent the area in early morning and late evening. Barred Owls and Red-Tail Hawks can been seen gliding silently through the valley anytime. Butterflies and dragon flies dance over the sparkling springs. Pets are welcome but for their safety and the safety of local farm animals we ask that you keep them leashed or under voice control at all times. Tank the little red very friendly Aussie may pop in for a curious visit as well. Morgan Branch creek is perfect for the little ones to stay occupied all day splashing and exploring. Nearby Cane Creek offers larger swimming holes. Bring a kayak, canoe or SUP or rent one for floating Piney River or Buffalo River. Great fishing can be found at the Buffalo or Duck Rivers, both about a 20 minute drive from camp. Explore the local farming communities. You will also discover an abundance of local Amish farms selling fresh garden veggies & home goods (every day except Sunday’s) during the summer months. 4-Wheelers, ATV’s and UTV’s are a great way to tour the backroads of the Cane Creek Amish community. Please ride respectfully around horse and buggy travelers or near homes. Enjoy quiet walks or bike rides on our chert (red gravel) roads. Cycling and motorcycle enthusiasts frequent the area spring and fall. If you need a change from your camp cooking, make sure to stop into Cane Creek Market for the best ever deli sandwiches. Like Mexican, try Mi Pueblito and be sure to try out The Commodore Hotel for weekend live music and delish dinning. Lobelville is 20 minutes from camp and offers Bold Wind Coffee Bar and Hott’s BBQ. Remember to visit Grinders Switch Winery while you are in the area too. Our own Donnie the Grill guy offers catering to your campsite. He's pretty famous around here for his grilled and smoked wings, mouthwatering meatloaf and baby back ribs piled high with two sides fresh from the garden. Fern Brook Nashville

3 sites · RVs, Tents37 acres · Goodlettsville, TN
This 37-acre timber farm was once part of a huge plantation owned by one of the first settlers in Tennessee. It is now registered and part of a Timber Forestry program with many old-growth trees (Tulip Poplars are Tennessee's state tree and there are some big ones here). There are steep hills and creeks weaving throughout this property. I love coming out here and escaping the city as you feel like you are deep in the woods yet still close to Nashville, Hendersonville, Old Hickory Lake and I-65. This property is surrounded by hundreds of acres of timberland which accounts for all the wildlife in the area. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent, hang your hammock, or camp in your vehicle and listen to the year-round spring-fed streams. Feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but know that you are still an Uber/Lyft ride away from downtown Nashville. You are also close to everything in Hendersonville, White House, Goodlettsville, and Old Hickory Lake. 1.5 miles from one of my favorite coffee shops, Authentic Coffee Co., and a handful of local restaurants (White House Pizza is a great one too and not far away). This campsite is on a 37-acre tract in the Timber Forestry program so it is all mature trees, hills, and creeks.  More info on the property: There are nice year-round creeks so you'll always have water. Plenty of firewood laying around from fallen branches and limbs. Please don't cut into any live trees though. Each site is clearly marked and has a designated area. Please try to stay around your campsite out of respect for other campers. Each site has plenty of space. Don't be surprised to see animals, beautiful birds, and all kinds of wildlife. You'll also hear the woods come alive at night, especially the frogs during the spring and summer. The Owls are my favorite though. Details on the sites: There are 2 campsites close enough should you want to book multiple sites with a group, but far enough away where you will not be disturbed. Campsite #1 is the first campsite which is tucked in between two large hills right alongside a creek. Campsite #2 is a little further back in the property alongside the creek. This is slightly more open and right on the creek as well. Both sites have plenty of good spots for a tent or hammock. You can drive and park at both sites as long as you have decent ground clearance (Examples of vehicles that have stayed: Toyota Highlander, Honda CRV, Subaru Outback, Jeeps). Many cars including a Toyota Prius have also made it back though. I am constantly improving these campsites so expect tables, shovels, and all kinds of things to make your camping more enjoyable. There will also be new campsites coming soon, including an off-grid tiny cabin, and primitive sites that would require a hike to access. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. Thanks, Matthew
