BUT, there is an indoor heated pool and changing room/restroom/shower. In Pigeon Forge but ABOVE the city hustle and bustle, adjoins Dollywood so you will hear the train whistle and roller coaster excitement (Dollywood hours are not too early or too late); less than 5 minutes to Old Mill, Dollywood, le Conte Center, grocery stores, shopping and many attractions, short drive to Gatlinburg, white water rafting, zip lines, hiking, horseback riding, Smoky Mtn Natl Park Off-the-Grid, - NO water, sewer or electric BUT 5 minute walk to indoor, heated pool and access to propane grill and picnic table 3 minute walk up the road at barrier gate. Only 1 site on private gravel road on mountainside acreage with no thru traffic; you will unlock/lock gate for entry/exit to your private mountain-side wooded retreat with view of valley through the trees and mountains in the distance. This RV site is on the mountain side not in the valley or mountain top. Access road is blacktop to the barrier gate and then 2 minute drive on a 1 lane gravel road to the campsite (see pictures). There is a 50 foot circular area to turn around so if you are too big to turn around in 50 foot area--you are too big for this site. There is wildlife in the area so be sure food and trash are inside your RV or vehicle. Do not leave food or trash out as that will attract wildlife. Trash should be deposited in the garbage cans in the metal cage by the barrier gate. SO OBVIOUSLY - AS ALWAYS/EVERYWHERE -- DO NOT FEED WILDLIFE; AS THAT CAN ENDANGER YOU AND FUTURE CAMPERS. These are wild animals even if they are within the city limits of Pigeon Forge.

This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy! Learn more about this land: You can park an RV or trailer on these private sites within a 10min drive or short walk to Laurel Lake! Gravel roads to a field capable of holding up to two trailers with more planned in time! Primitive sites, Quiet n private. These sites are also within 10 mi of both London and Corbin Ky, with services available at both. Scenic Cumberland Falls is a short 25 min drive, and this place is adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest with plenty of hiking nearby.

3 nights at Your Private Mountainside Retreat

I enjoyed my 3 night stay at this primitive campsite. I arrived late in the evening and GPS took me almost to the right road to turn on. Unfortunately for me, there is another road 75 ft before the actual road where one is to turn. I mistakenly took that road and ended up having to do a near impossible turn around given my truck length and short 12 foot trailer) near some dumpsters and the exit from another campground/trailer park. The host's directions are very good, it was just darkness and unfamiliar area that led to my challenge. The entrance gate was at the end of a condo complex and kind of looks like a dead end. I was relieved the gate code worked and I was quickly through. I proceeded down the single lane gravel path til it opened in to a small clearing sufficient to turn around and park in. I actually parked on the road as Brian said I would be the only traffic. The site was peaceful, quite and felt surrounded by woods. There's a little bit of mountain view in one direction. Signage both by the condo garbage dumpster you pass on the way and at the actual campsite remind you you are in bear country and need to take appropriate precautions. I didn't see any bears, but did see plenty of deer scat and one pile my imagination said could be from a bear. I was happy to have my more secure camper to stay in. If tent camping, I would recommend familiarizing oneself with how to do that safely. It was a great home base for me during my short visit. I definitely will go back.

This property is a great option. It’s easy to get to and it’s just minutes from downtown Pigeon Forge. If you can do dry camping, it’s a great spot. We got a great day of rest one entire day. Very secluded but minutes away from civilization too. Brian, the host is very responsive to messages.

Such an amazing spot! The hosts were so welcoming. We enjoyed a tubing trip through them and thoroughly enjoyed it. The camp site was nice and private with the peaceful sound of the river. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been camping on the Powell River regularly for 5 years and at this property for the last few months. This is one of my absolute favorite areas in Cumberland Gap. The water is so clean and breathtakingly beautiful. My son loves playing down by the river for hours—he and all his friends always leave completely content. Every time I wake up here, I feel like I’ve had some of the deepest, most nourishing sleep of my life. There’s something truly special and peaceful about this stretch of the river. Cumberland Gap Adventure Company is run by some of the best humans and I’m so grateful for all the experiences I’ve had here since they began stewarding this land. I can’t recommend this place and this company (and all they offer) enough! Be sure to check out their storefront too—they have excellent, high-quality gear.

After having some difficulties with other campsites on Hipcamp, Gavin’s campsite was a lovely little haven. The campsite was private and perfect. Gavin is one of the most considerate and generous hosts I’ve experienced.. Not even 10 minutes had passed and Gavin was already driving down to us to introduce himself and provide us wood for the evening. Great location near Cumberland Falls! Highly recommend.

Gavins farm provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The location was so close to the lake, making it easy to enjoy the water, if you dont mind a devent hike. Beautiful and peaceful! Even though our trip got cut short due to the weather, we absolutely loved staying here! Couldn't have asked for a better spot; on the river and secluded. We enjoyed floating the river and seeing different wildlife and just sitting by the campfire listening to the water. Hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back one day!

We absolutely loved camping here right next to the river! We didn’t have our own tent and the host provided one for us and set everything up before we got there. They also included a few cast iron pans for cooking, a hammock and plenty of firewood. The tent was set up right next to the river with our own private fire pit.

Gavin is an excellent host! Can’t express how highly I recommend staying at any of these sites. All three are great. I was able to take a peek at all 3 since no one but me was there. Unfortunately I didn’t get in until late due to traffic, but still enjoyed the set up a lot. Very peaceful and private and the firewood provided was perfect even with it being wet out. The hill coming back out was a little steep so if you plan on bringing a rig, make sure you have 4WD. Ground was solid though even with all the rain. 10/10 Will definitely stay again!
