Greene Kitchen Farm

Greene Kitchen Farm has been farmed by the Greene family since 2013.  If you step back in time a few owners, the Kitchen family with 8 boys and a girl farmed the land that surrounds the little tributary to Montour Run.  The Greenes have been pasturing the majority of the land in nature's image with an eye toward biomimicry and an agro-forestal, savannah landscape.  The herbivores pulse through the landscape with flocks of birds following them.  
Since the livestock have been fenced out of the creek, a little jewel of a wildlife refuge traverses the farm from northwest to southeast.  This riparian zones shades the creek, protects the water quality, and provides great habitat for coyotes, minks, eagles, white-tailed deer, groundhogs, hawks, squirrels, woodcock, and a variety of songbirds.  Greene Kitchen Farm camp sites are situated on this varied section of brook.      Learn more about this land:Bring your tent or park your pop-up along the spring at Greene Kitchen Farm. Livestock will be fenced in just in view, and the birds will serve as your alarm clock. Your site will be the last stop on a mowed path through the hollow nestled between the spring and the woods.

The Evergreen Lodge

Family owned land for over 100 years and at that time it was planted in corn. On the property is a foundation that was said to be where one of the Youngers that rode with Jessie James lived in a shanty. Known as the “Younger Shanty”.  Nearby attractions:  wineries, state parks, Penns Cave, Penn State University, and great restaurants.

Go for a wooded hike or  explore. There is a creek nearby that you can fish in or a smaller creek to sit by and relax. Bike on country blacktop roads.

Spyglass Ridge Winery

The property is on 50 acres and has a winery, brewery and restaurant available. We have events all year long and host concerts that bring over 4,000 people per event. Catch and release fishing in the pond and plenty of open space to stroll around.  Learn more about this land:Brewery (open Thursday through Sunday) and Winery (open Tuesday through Sunday) on site. Close to Knoebel's Amusement Resort and Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area. Pond for catch and release fishing.  Pet friendly and relaxing property
