This magical chalet is nestled along a fishing stream. Take some time to unplug and relax. Great hiking and biking! No cleaning fee! There is no electric,  solar lights provide adequate lighting at night. There is no Wi-Fi, no running water and no shower.  There is a porta potty located under deck. In summer we host a community garden and summer camp for kids. Children, pets, campers (no hookups) tents and campfires are welcome. 
Keypad lock allows for access anytime after reservation begins.

Kitchen, living room and bedroom combined. Propane heat keeps place warm in cooler weather. Solar lights provide adequate lighting in evening. Sorry no Wi-Fi or running water. Please bring your own drinking water and firewood. 

Lots of gardens and some chickens running around. 

First floor of chalet is available for guest use.

Peace & Quiet by the River!

My farm is just beautiful.  I have owned it for 46 years and am proud as can be of its beauty and serenity. Welcome to our perfect outdoor haven, a beautiful 150 acre farm, providing an extraordinary escape from the hustle and bustle of our modern world.  Two of our exclusive campsites are located on the banks of the Little Schuylkill River, with the world-renowned Hawk Mountain Sanctuary boarding on the other side of the river.  The third site, has an open view of Hawk Mountain and the farm, to say nothing of the full sky view.. Our private, exclusive campsites, easily encompassing about 5 acres at each site and surrounded by the 150 acre farm, are designed to take advantage of the natural surroundings. Here you will find yourself off grid and alone with nature.  Imagine yourself pitching your tent along the river or on the hill top, viewing countless birds of prey and all types of wildlife with no other folks around, except for your people.

The location could not be better or more private. Our family for years have camped and played at these site, enjoying the river and night sounds. We are a working Christmas Tree farm as well. Truly private camping, not a commercial camp ground. Very few camping sites exist where you can just have your own space, but you may have it here. My family are stewards to this wonderful farm, and are thrilled to share it with you.  We want you to chill and to find tranquility, to respect our sites and make memories that are treasured.

Because we are a tree farm, we cannot allow you to bring wood from other locations on to the farm.  Wood is for sale here and we request a pre order so we can have it ready at your site.  You may purchase through Hipcamp or directly from us.  

All sites have a picnic table, a Hawk Shadow Out House, water to wash things, a preparation table and a good bundle of kindling to start off your camping experience.  There Is a shovel, cooking grates, log benches and a neat campfire ring. Potable water is available at the farm and you may refill when needed. 

Campsite #1 (Lean To Site)

This site is along the river. It is private and lovely. 

You may park your car above the site and walk down to the river and camping area. Short, 50 yards, but a steepish walk.  Pack in and out accordingly.

Very private, lots of space. It is perfect. 

Campsite #2 (Dog Gone Site)

This site is also along the river. 

It is private and has the same set up as site one. 

Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly.

Campsite #3 (High Site)

Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm. 

It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing.............

Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site. 

Car accessible, no walking to campsite required.  

At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and  hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies.

We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod.  Big bass in there!!

Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees.

You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City.  One hour from Harrisburg.

Hiking!  Hawk Mountain Sanctuary entrance is only 3 miles away.

Both entrances to the Appalachian Trail, Eckville and Port Clinton, are a 10 minuet drive.

A visit to Yuengling Brewery, in Pottsville, Americas older brewery, is a 20 minute drive.

Jim Thorpe is a fourty five minute drive. 

Kutztown University is 35 minutes away. 

The heart of Amish Country is an hour drive. 

Biking, both country road and mountain.  You need your own maps! 

Fishing in our beautiful river or on our pond!

Cabela's in Hamburg is just 15 minutes down the road. But most of all to do here is to relax, fish, play in the river, walk and visit with your family and friends.

Hawk Shadow is located between New Ringgold and Port Clinton on the east side of the Appalachian Mountain.  Very Rural. 

There is plenty of local produce, we can give you directions to our local farm stands. Fresh butchers are not far away. 

Swap meets and antique auction houses are scattered around the area. 

Yes, you can drive to the area of the campsite, but no, you cannot drive down actual site at campsite #1 and #2.  Parking at site 3, no walk required..

The Little Schuylkill River runs right behind camping sites 1 and 2.

Plenty of wonderful hammocking trees surround the camping site.

The picnic table provided the perfect place to eat our meals and play some card games.

There is a lot of space to have a group camping trip at site 3.

Site 3 overlooks the beautiful rolling hills full of Christmas trees.

The beautiful tall poplar trees provide a peaceful and serene space to relax by the fire while watching the wildlife all around you.

Dj Duncan's Piece of Heaven

We are an active dairy farm in the rolling hills of Berks County, Pennsylvania. We take awesome sunrises and great star gazing for granted around here! Campsites are a 10-minute walk from the farm where all are welcome to interact with the animals or take a try at milking a cow. After all, you need milk and cream for breakfast!Its a ten minute drive to Blue Marsh Lake for Fishing, Biking, Hiking and Swimming. Its a 5 minute walk up to our Dairy Farm where you can visit with the cows and baby calves. There is a very nice view of Weiser's mountain. This site doesn't have any extra shelter and is only for tent camping.  There is a total of 4 listings in the one acre courtyard. The water source is shared by other people and also the port potty is shared with courtyard #3.

Camp Blackbird

*Dear Campers, due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be hosting during the 2024 season. Sharing our land with you and providing a space to create memories that will hopefully last a lifetime has been a great joy to us.

Camp Blackbird is a 28 acre property that runs along Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, PA.  So besides the camp, there is an additional 3,002-acres of state park to explore. There are a total of 2 sites. 

The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people.

 So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites. 

A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world.

We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here.  

We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake.

 There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite.

 Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling.  The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp.

In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.

The property is not suitable for parties or events.

The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding.

The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.

VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.

We welcome pets.

We, the hosts, live on the property about 700 ft from the campsite. We try to have minimal interactions with the guests to ensure privacy and personal space but we're always reachable.

Campsite2 has its own campfire area, picnic table with unlimited water provided.

Unlimited water and everything you need to have campfires is included. 

Unlimited firewood with everything you need to have campfires is included in your firewood shed. 

You can pull your car right up to here if you want. 

There are two rather flat spots good for pitching your tent. This is the second spot. 

Water is provided. Welcome packet with additional information is also left for you on picnic table.  

RoundStone

We are a family owned campground nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, on the outskirts of the famous Poconos. We offer rustic tent sites and log cabins on nearly 400 acres. The property has been in our family since the late 1800's, initially operating as an ochre mill.

 We are near the historic town of Jim Thorpe, Whitewater Rafting Adventures, Hickory Run State Park, Lehigh Gorge State Park, Tuscarora State Park, and more.

PLEASE NOTE:

- Our tent sites are rustic with NO electric or running water.  Porta-Johns are available throughout the grounds. (Some sites are closer to port-a-johns than others.) We do not provide potable water or showers but we allow responsible use of the stream for cleaning. 

- FIREWOOD: Due to the threat of invasive pests, we do not allow firewood to be transported onto the grounds. We have firewood for sale for $7 per crate. You can pick and crate your wood at the wood pile on the grounds at your convenience. Please bring cash if possible or get in touch at the end of your stay to pay via Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.

-We have a variety of wildlife in the area, including BLACK BEARS. Please follow 'Leave No Trace' protocols and be mindful of trash and food throughout your stay. Keep your coolers in your vehicles and take garbage to the dumpster frequently.  We have a dumpster available to you on the grounds. 

-Check in is contactless. Upon booking, you will receive directions to your site. 

-Three night minimum: Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July Weekend, Labor Day Weekend.

-Only some of our sites are available here on Hipcamp. Please get in touch with us for more options if you have a larger group or if you are interested in a cabin.

This is the "center" apple tree. It is one of the most peaceful sites on the farm. Away from everything. 

Secluded horse farm!

Learn more about this land:On the horse farm there are numerous camp sites to choose from. There are secluded sites on the far side of property, there are sites near apple orchard, or in the woods. There is an open area of 10 acres filled with wild grasses, monarch butterflies, and rolling hills. With almost 50 acres of land to choose from your camping experience will be truly unique very single time you choose to stay at the Apollo Farms. The choices are endless. Their are portable rest rooms near camp sites. Property is private and gated. A truly peaceful escape from everyday life. 

Among the many trails, their is a picnic table, tree benches, and large tree swing all located on over 50 acres of a private horse farm.
