The world class Wisp resort and Deep Creek Lake are only minutes away. “Yough” is short for Youghiogheny River a state designated wild and scenic river which runs through the heart of the property. Wild Yough Glamping huts are part of more than 350 acres of private land, most of which is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or in the case of the Yough, North toward Ohio Pyle and Pittsburgh. This section of the river is designated as a protected scenic corridor and you will feel the quiet isolation when sitting on the Crooked Butt Bench overlooking the big horseshoe bend in the river at the far back corner of our property. And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional. There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge. Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to. We loved staying at Myra's cabin. Comfy beds, clean, good shower, and responsive host. There is a spiral staircase that took us a bit to get used to, but we all did, kids included. Great location between Cleveland & DC.

Weekend Trip to Laurel Rock LLC # 2
What a sweet couple and adorable area they are creating! There is a hotdog stand, with an outdoor patio, where you pick up your key. Then, you climb a gravel hill to your place. We had Cabin #1 which was decorated with cactuses. It was warm and cozy with lots of space inside. We got settled in nicely and ventured off to Tygart Lake State Park. Thank You for a nice welcome and a cute place to stay for the night.

Although during our stay we were doing what some would classify as "glamping"; the amount of amenities and relaxing feeling they create makes it feel more like a country resort.
We will definitely be back!

This has been one of my favorite hip camp experiences! Donnie is a wonderful host and has a lovely property with a bunch to do. Loved falling asleep in a cozy den and waking up to the animals. All areas were clean and comfortable- 11/10!

Donnie was amazing, so accommodating, kind soul. The amenities were way better than I expected them to be. What an incredible value for the price. Wonderful privacy. Beautiful views. The hot tub was phenomenal. The bathrooms and showers are awesome. There's a refrigerator and microwave in the common space. Took my mom here for a getaway and we will definitely be coming back.

Rented both cabins with another family and had a wonderful time. The hosts were incredibly communicative and helpful, cabins were just as advertised and the location was private. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a private getaway with more amenities than a tent but still at a reasonable price

Loved the cabin! It was private and spacious both inside and outside. It had a fridge, microwave, A/C, and table with chairs inside, as well as a bar table on the porch and another table by the firepit. Bathhouse with a shower down the hill, compost toilet right by the cabin. The hill to reach the cabin is extremely steep, but I was able to make it up in a Jeep without using 4wd. Host were friendly and welcoming.

We were looking for a dog-friendly cabin to meet family halfway between Cleveland and DC. Myra made everything easy. The cabin is easy to access, and the property is beautiful. There's a large hiking area behind the cabin. We enjoyed the very nice grill on the deck. Our 2-year-old loved his first campfire and s'more!

Set deep in the woods with no Wi-Fi, basic electricity, and no distractions, this place offers a truly authentic outdoor experience. The cabin is simple but solid — built with charm and practicality. The compost toilet setup was clean and well-maintained. If you're looking to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with nature, this primitive cabin stay is the perfect getaway.
One of our favorite features was our firepit and the privacy of where the cabin is located. We spent our mornings sipping coffee while listening to nature come to life. Total serenity.
The location was perfect — close enough to hiking trails, a lake, and a small town for groceries or dining, but far enough to feel completely private and peaceful.
The hosts were also incredible: responsive, welcoming.
We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next trip back. If you’re looking for a quiet, retreat Laurel Rock is the place to stay.
