It is breathtaking at night.  At the bottom of the mountain there is a Gunclub with a shooting range and you will hear shooting from the property. Please note it is far away and there is no danger Our property is mostly the mountain side. But with an area that is flat for tent camping. The property is close to Route 309 but there is a camping area away from the road. Our land is next to the road and you will hear some road noise. We are next to National Parks land which also consists of the Appalachian Trail and also against the Pennsylvania Game Lands. You can walk up the street or trail to Thunderhead Lodge Restaurant. Leaser lake is a short drive if you like fishing or kayaking. The Wanamakers Store is a unique place to visit with amazing sandwiches. The Wanamakers and Kemton railroad is close by for a weekend train ride. Bear Rock Junction is close by for mini golf and ice cream. Eight Oaks Distillery is only a few minutes away. Several wineries and antique shops as well. You may also see Appalachian Trail Thru Hikers come thru our property to stay at the hostel. My farm is just beautiful. I have owned it for 46 years and am proud as can be of its beauty and serenity. Welcome to our perfect outdoor haven, a beautiful 150 acre farm, providing an extraordinary escape from the hustle and bustle of our modern world. Two of our exclusive campsites are located on the banks of the Little Schuylkill River, with the world-renowned Hawk Mountain Sanctuary boarding on the other side of the river. The third site, has an open view of Hawk Mountain and the farm, to say nothing of the full sky view.. Our private, exclusive campsites, easily encompassing about 5 acres at each site and surrounded by the 150 acre farm, are designed to take advantage of the natural surroundings. Here you will find yourself off grid and alone with nature. Imagine yourself pitching your tent along the river or on the hill top, viewing countless birds of prey and all types of wildlife with no other folks around, except for your people. The location could not be better or more private. Our family for years have camped and played at these site, enjoying the river and night sounds. We are a working Christmas Tree farm as well. Truly private camping, not a commercial camp ground. Very few camping sites exist where you can just have your own space, but you may have it here. My family are stewards to this wonderful farm, and are thrilled to share it with you. We want you to chill and to find tranquility, to respect our sites and make memories that are treasured. Because we are a tree farm, we cannot allow you to bring wood from other locations on to the farm. Wood is for sale here and we request a pre order so we can have it ready at your site. You may purchase through Hipcamp or directly from us. All sites have a picnic table, a Hawk Shadow Out House, water to wash things, a preparation table and a good bundle of kindling to start off your camping experience. There Is a shovel, cooking grates, log benches and a neat campfire ring. Potable water is available at the farm and you may refill when needed. Campsite #1 (Lean To Site) This site is along the river. It is private and lovely. You may park your car above the site and walk down to the river and camping area. Short, 50 yards, but a steepish walk. Pack in and out accordingly. Very private, lots of space. It is perfect. Campsite #2 (Dog Gone Site) This site is also along the river. It is private and has the same set up as site one. Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly. Campsite #3 (High Site) Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm. It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing............. Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site. Car accessible, no walking to campsite required. At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies. We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod. Big bass in there!! Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees. You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City. One hour from Harrisburg. What to do here? Plenty! Hiking! The heart of Amish Country is an hour drive. Biking, both country road and mountain. You need your own maps! Fishing in our beautiful river or on our pond! Cabela's in Hamburg is just 15 minutes down the road. But most of all to do here is to relax, fish, play in the river, walk and visit with your family and friends. There is plenty of local produce, we can give you directions to our local farm stands. Fresh butchers are not far away. Swap meets and antique auction houses are scattered around the area. Yes, you can drive to the area of the campsite, but no, you cannot drive down actual site at campsite #1 and #2. Parking at site 3, no walk required.. It's close to many towns and restaurants and the turnpike, but surrounded by trees and a creek, it feels far away from anything demanding your attention. It's a place to relax and enjoy nature. We offer a beautiful and sacred place in the woods of Bucks County, PA. The rustic cabin includes as much privacy as you desire, with a full kitchen, small bathroom, two bedrooms, and a meditation loft. We will be decorated for Halloween. We are currently working a scary trail. Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. Nestled on the ridgeline of the 3rd Watchung Mountain, the property sits above The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. You'll be in a neighborhood, for sure, but a quiet one with lots of room for people and pets to stretch. The property has a 3000 square foot Summer wildflower field with a cozy tent spot in the center. There is also a grand flat grass area for setting up multiple tents. A 100-foot dog trolley run spans the land so your fluffy can run and stay close, too. Numerous outdoor chairs and tables are set up in various spots to best enjoy the land. There is a fire pit and free firewood available. Use of up to two 8-foot single kayaks or a single 17-foot canoe is available. The Passaic River has a number of drop-in spots nearby and Round Valley and Spruce Run reservoirs are a short drive. Hiking trails go throughout the Great Swamp. I enjoyed my stay at the Organic Farm in the Pocono Mountains. Eric greeted me on my arrival and the space I stayed was serene. They were hospitable and available for questions and hiking suggestions. I also felt safe being a solo camper. The Delaware Water Gap was less than 20 min away from the campsite!

Weekend Trip to Dj Duncan's Piece of Heaven

Absolutely beautiful dairy farm and we had the opportunity to take an impromptu hay ride with corn maze employees to check out the Christmas Village which amazing. “A little slice of Americana”. DJ and Loretta were super nice and let us explore the whole farm, talk to the all the cows. Even made a new friend Benny the cat who hung out with us at our campfire. 10/10 We will definitely be back!!!

3 nights at FernRock Retreat

Lovely place for a peaceful retreat for a chilly November weekend, even with a 5 year old. Sandy and John were such kind and welcoming hosts. The red cabin is an updated church camp cabin, with electric radiators and a modern wood stove for heat, a pretty cool composting toilet (indoor), sink+shower, simple kitchen with induction stove, and 2 bedrooms with linens and towels. Our 5-year old loved the tree house, fairy house, labyrinth, meditation stations, boat and Pooh's house and library. And we got really good at shuffleboard! Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

Fantastic stay! The farm is amazing and site #3 was beautiful. We had the perfect weekend. Host was very friendly and the communication was great! We felt very welcome. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is just a few minutes away and the site itself is nicely set up, very quiet and private with a picturesque view of the mountain. Highly recommend! We are already looking forward to returning.

Weekend Trip to Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

Our girls camping trip to Camp Dietrich this weekend was amazing. Scott met us upon arrival and gave us a full rundown of the campground! The checkpoint shed had everything we needed, wood was ready to buy, and the Coleman stove made cooking every meal so easy. The creek beside our campsite was absolutely magical, and yes, I even took a cold plunge. The tent was super spacious, comfy bunk beds, and the heater kept us warm all night. We hiked to the waterfalls on-site, which were unreal. Already counting down to bringing the kids this summer. Highly recommend, 10/10.

The Cabin with No Name exceeded every expectation we had. The awesome book selection, incredibly comfortable bed, the amazing shower, the vast land of trails behind it all paired with quirky/cozy decor are only a few of the warm takeways from this experience. Kat swiftly responded to us and answered all our questions promptly. We enjoyed it here so much we decided to extend our trip in the middle of it. It's obvious the care, attention and love that was put into this place. It truly felt like our home away from home. Would absolutely return here.

The campsites at the organic farm are great, spacious and secluded. A lot of birds and several deer were attracted by the pond. The farm is very close to the city and the trails, at very convenient spot for everything one needs. Communication with Eric was excellent! I would come again anytime.

2 nights at Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed for two nights at “a creek runs through it” and had a wonderful time. Scott was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you forgot to pack something, there’s a good chance you can borrow it from the check point shed. The site itself was gorgeous and very private. You really can “be one with nature” here. I look forward to visiting again once it warms up, to fully take advantage of the creek and some swimming. Highly recommend this place. Thank you to the Dietrich’s for a wonderful experience!

Weekend Trip to Peace & Quiet by the River!

This is our second year staying at Susan's Christmas Tree Farm campsite! and we'll be back again! I think going late October almost insures you'll have the whole place to yourself which makes for a really peaceful and relaxing stay... probably a little too cold for some but I love the cold! Campsite is always prepared and clean, stocked with your (pre-purchased) firewood, water and a sink to clean dishes and a cool little port-a-potty! The view of Hawk Mountain is incredible especially with a lit night sky and the moon! last year we hiked Hawk Mountain and this year we hiked a bit of the Appalachian Trail only couple miles form the campsite. My favorite local place for beers and a burger is McKeansburg Hotel and Tavern great bartender, service and friendly local hangout! I highly recommend this place!

Sandy and John were excellent hosts and wonderful stewards of their land. They went above and beyond to make my partner and I feel welcome. It was an extremely comfortable and peaceful weekend at Fern Rock, and we would absolutely love to return.
