We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. The main cabin, Belle's Cabin, is made from hand hewed logs and is the only cabin furnished with a king size bed. There are two stocked ponds connected by a cascading stream, multiple fire pits with seating, furnished gazebo with wood stove, picnic tables, and multiple park benches located throughout the property. The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. Amazing home nestled in a quiet wooded area! Great for weekend getaway or longish cozy stay. The home is equipped with all kitchen and bath needs - very impressively stocked given the size (stove top, fridge, microwave..). Stayed during a snowy/icy weekend over new years and the cabin stayed so warm and felt very luxurious in the snow; cozy bed you'll want to stay in all day! Fire pit was great - bring additional fire cookware or grill if you want that but the house has all the basics!!

Weekend Trip to Solace Cabinette/Paix Cabinette

I rented the tiny cabin for 2 nights, and while it’s a lovely off-grid setup exactly as described, the temperatures dropped extremely low during my stay. Because the cabin has no heat, electricity, or running water, it wasn’t feasible to stay there in that kind of cold. The host was gracious and immediately helped us pivot to a room at her bed-and-breakfast on the same property so we could remain safe and comfortable. Although we didn’t get to stay in the cabin itself, the property is stunning — wide open views, peaceful surroundings, and a true escape from the city. I’m very grateful for the host’s quick help and hospitality. I’d absolutely return in better weather to enjoy the cabin properly.

Lovely place for a peaceful retreat for a chilly November weekend, even with a 5 year old. Sandy and John were such kind and welcoming hosts. The red cabin is an updated church camp cabin, with electric radiators and a modern wood stove for heat, a pretty cool composting toilet (indoor), sink+shower, simple kitchen with induction stove, and 2 bedrooms with linens and towels. Our 5-year old loved the tree house, fairy house, labyrinth, meditation stations, boat and Pooh's house and library. And we got really good at shuffleboard! Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

Weekend Trip to Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

Our girls camping trip to Camp Dietrich this weekend was amazing. Scott met us upon arrival and gave us a full rundown of the campground! The checkpoint shed had everything we needed, wood was ready to buy, and the Coleman stove made cooking every meal so easy. The creek beside our campsite was absolutely magical, and yes, I even took a cold plunge. The tent was super spacious, comfy bunk beds, and the heater kept us warm all night. We hiked to the waterfalls on-site, which were unreal. Already counting down to bringing the kids this summer. Highly recommend, 10/10.

The property is BEAUTIFUL and the camp site is very well equipped! And Scott is an incredible host. My kids loved camping there, hiking the trails, using the zip line, and seeing the waterfalls.

2 nights at Fairview Farms Airfield

Our time in the treehouse was magical. It was my 13 year old son and I. He is 6’1” and he was able to comfortably sleep in the loft. Bill and everyone at Fairview Farms was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The stargazing was phenomenal; I highly recommend a dip in the hot tub under the stars. I would recommend bringing a heated blanket in the colder months. I brought ours and it was the perfect mix of cold and snuggly warm. There is a heater that works like a charm, with the blanket we only used it during the day.

2 nights at Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed for two nights at “a creek runs through it” and had a wonderful time. Scott was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you forgot to pack something, there’s a good chance you can borrow it from the check point shed. The site itself was gorgeous and very private. You really can “be one with nature” here. I look forward to visiting again once it warms up, to fully take advantage of the creek and some swimming. Highly recommend this place. Thank you to the Dietrich’s for a wonderful experience!
