Just renovated for winter camping! Completely sealed up and draft free. Still a very primitive site, but the interior now keeps in the warmth from the fireplace. Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods.
Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away.
Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter.
The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away.
It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs.
We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables..
There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents.
There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin,
but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures.
The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk!

The loft in the trees was the perfect place to stay on a winter night but still be surrounded by nature. The outdoor mood lighting on the property perfectly highlighted the slow falling snow that welcomed my one night stay here. In the morning the land was peaceful with birds chirping and the creek bubbling slowly on my morning walk. The bathroom was Amazing!! Way better than anything I could have anticipated. This is a really well done Hipcamp and I would definitely stay here again. I appreciate Liam & Jolene for being so welcoming and for sharing such a wonderful space. My kitten loved being in the nature and away from cars and other people, thanks for having us!!

We planned a hunting trip and the Friendly Beasts Farm Barn Loft was a perfect choice. Spacious,clean, cookware, spices all the toiletries everything you needed for a quiet getaway,just show up with food and cloths and enjoy. The sunsets from the back deck to all the star gazing,it was truly the perfect choice. Frances and Matthew were wonderful hosts,very attentive with all our needs. Amazing. From the view of the fall leaves and the Allegheny, to how nice the cabin was, to having a chimnied fire pit. Everything was perfect,. We usually do primitive sites, but I figured we could go glamping for once, and it was beyond anything I could expect. Meghan was super accommodating and a really nice host as well. 11/10 we'll definitely be back!

Fantastic property! We rented the tree cabin but the tent sites also looked great. All the amenities you could ask for while still being rustic and private. We visited for our annual fall leaf peeping trip, but we fully intend to come back in the summer--we are excited to take advantage of the cute little pond for swimming and kayaking.

The site felt private yet the common area and restroom were easy to access. I was particularly impressed with the extra touches, fall flowers on our picnic table, very nice soaps and air freshener in the impeccably clean bathroom, and a helpful space to clean up some dishes and get some hot water for cocoa in Hank's Hangout. This site is maintained lovingly.
