Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing a user maintained hiking/mountain biking trail with 1.5, 3, 5 and 7 mile loop options. Other nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road or at nearby Clemmons Park. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, and one pull out couch. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and an un-attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, wood fired sauna, and creek access for cold dips. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 1 vehicle charger available for guests. These guys put the hip in #hipcamp. Jim was a wonderful and engaging host. We stayed in the caboose and the highlights were hanging out with the host and his friends, the sauna, and hot tub. If you are bringing kids maybe check with the host or Eric on the vibe before coming. It is a beautiful property and you can tell Jim has put a lot of thought, effort, and himself in the place. We hope to return, go Hoosiers!

We had a wonderful time staying at this special spot for a friends getaway. Our host was extremely helpful and responsive. The cabin is so well thought-out, and it's lovely to see the creativity and time that has gone into this property. It's so nice to be able to walk right out the door and hike their private trails, listen to the creek, and relax. We arrived right after fire restrictions were lifted, so we were able to use the outdoor fire pit and look at the stars. We also used the sauna every day we were there. It has an electric sauna heater and a small woodstove, so you can choose your heat source, and the short little path down to the cold dip in the creek is genius. Some folks in reviews have mentioned the composting toilets--as some of our group lives entirely off-grid, we were actually taking pictures of their setup because it's really well designed. Just think of all the water you're saving in the world. The property itself is well cared for, and their little dog is such a cutie. We would definitely stay here again!

The yurt is very homey complete with kitchen essentials such as full-size fridge, 2-burner hot plate, We had duck eggs each morning, and loved hearing the ducks quacking and watching them bathe. We loved staying at the Alsea family farms creek cabin! Where to begin?! The hosts were so kind and left us veggies and fresh strawberries picked from their garden on the property. Also a fresh vase of flowers sat on the kitchen table when we arrived which was so thoughtful. The cabin has a private hiking trail that was so peaceful and lovely. The streams and small series of bridges behind the cabin was charming and peaceful. I sat on the bigger footbridge for breakfast one morning taking in the surroundings. Small and all children not connected to devices especially would love to explore around near the creek and look and listen for critters. For the space itself was beautiful clean with everything you need. Bedding was lovely to look at comfortable to sleep in and clean. One thing that might throw certain people off would be the composting toilet. The management team works hard maintaining the space and keeping it as clean and functional and good smelling as possible. But it is a composting toilet. I personally had no problem with it. I grew up camping so this was no big deal. Up in the loft my children said they felt like they were in a treehouse. We really enjoyed everything about this place and I would have stayed longer if I could. I look forward to coming back and have shared pictures and my experience with friends. Thank you again for the lovely stay!

Weekend Trip to Burgess Backyard

We are so grateful to Janine and her family for letting our pretty large family rent out her yurt and campsite. We loved the ducks greeting us upon our arrival, which she let the little ones feed. Her dog was also a big hit! The cozy yurt had everything we could need or want. The rain coming down on the yurt roof was magical sounding. We loved hanging around the campfire, Janine sells firewood which was super convenient. We made such great memories here and would recommend to anyone who wants to experience glamping close to town! This was such a tranquil spot for our family. The cabin had everything we needed, was super comfortable, with so many windows looking out into the beautiful woods. This was our first yurt and it was the best experience, so inviting and cozy. We felt so safe and secured, it was quiet from outside noises, and had everything we would need. I’m so jealous of Janine’s gorgeous lot, beautiful pets, fun swing, and cool roof of the yurt! Would for sure love to come back with a bigger group, it was right by the Lake, sand dunes, and sweet creek trails. This place checked all my boxes for sure when searching for glamping.

Elizabeths property was awesome. There were some chickens along the way to the RV which was cool especially for kids to see! There were two awesome friendly energetic pups on the site as well which was a plus as a dog lover. RV itself was plenty for a couple or small family. Land also had a little homemade fire pit & a few hammocks sprinkled on the property.

We loved staying here! The place is charming with little details throughout, and the space is very functional and cozy. The beds were comfortable in the loft and bedroom, but I found the couch that converts to a bed to be a little uncomfortable. To be fair I am in my 50s and not as spry as I once was. The host was exceptional, very welcoming and gave us delicious produce from the garden. I can still taste those sweet cherry tomatoes! Wild turkeys and deer wander through the field which makes this place even more special.

I stayed at Alsea Valley Farm’s Hipcamp with my mom and sister. The cabin was comfortable and cozy and had everything we needed. The property is beautiful and the hosts were very accommodating. They left fresh strawberries and veggies that were grown on the farm in the fridge for us. A lot of hiking, relaxing, and eating was done. We would have stayed longer, but they are so popular that they had to get the cabin ready for the next group. I will definitely be back and recommend to my friends.
