Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. Prosper Bluff

24 sites · RVs2 acres · Bandon, OR
**Please note: this property is for SELF-CONTAINED campers only - no toilet or hookups available (hose water and trash disposal on site). NO Class A RVs, Fifth Wheels, or Toy Haulers.** Beautiful Prosper Bluff is close to the charming town of Bandon, world class beaches, Bullards Beach State Park, Whiskey Run mountain bike trails, Bandon Dunes golf resort, and more. We are conveniently located right off Hwy 101, just a few minutes from town. Prosper Bluff is close to all the amenities and recreation, yet private and peaceful with a large open field surrounded by river, estuary, forest, and cranberry bogs. We offer two types of campsites at Prosper Bluff: Our Prosper Bluff with river access site can accommodate individuals or small groups of up to 3 small or medium-sized camp vehicles*. This open field camp with expansive views of the majestic Coquille River and Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge is perfect for those who prioritize a spectacular view and privacy away from other campers while being close to town and recreation opportunities. Guests will have river and dock access via a trail that starts at the campsite, and can enjoy fishing, crabbing, or simply taking in the breathtaking scenery. Watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets from your private bluff camp. *This site is not good for tents as the wind can be very strong and there are no trees on the bluff. Our two Lost Valley Van Camp sites can each accommodate one self-contained campervan or truck camper and offer a quiet place to pull up amongst the trees on the outskirts of the field. Each site comes with a convertible bench/table for two and a flat grassy area to camp with plenty of room to turn your vehicle around. The two sites are separated by dense trees to ensure privacy from neighboring campers. While these sites don't come with the epic view or river access of our bluff site, they are peaceful and conveniently located. Please message us with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!

Mosswood Forest

22 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Veneta, OR
Just down the road from the historic Oregon Country Fair grounds, there is a moss covered forest with friendly folks welcoming you to stop off and rest. Nights are quiet with faint to no road noise or light pollution. The driveway and grounds are flat with safe gated parking space for cars/vans and small-med sized trailers, tents etc. It is our pleasure to offer you a safe space to camp with your friends and family. Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

Woodland Hills Ranch

6 sites · RVs, Tents100 acres · Drain, OR
We are located on what used to be one of the stagecoach stops on the Applegate Trail. There is an ancient tree that was if the oral story of the land is accurate, the Trading tree. It was the place where swap meets between the local native tribes would gather and bring their firs, and other goods to trade with the white traders of the time. It's a peaceful place to be, the property backs up to timber property. It feels more isolated than it is. The nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away. Learn more about this land:You can pitch a tent in the middle of 80 acres and feel totally isolated. Wr have a camping area on the front half of the property. Because of storm damage, there's a lot of downed trees and broken limbs further into the land. We are trying to get the land under control but it is slow going. You are welcome to drive up on the dirt road and a quad could be used but there are no riding trails.

11 Mile River Camp

2 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Umpqua, OR
Welcome to the river! This beautiful 10 acre property is located on the scenic main Umpqua River. Enjoy excellent, year-round fishing, kayaking, and swimming right from your private and secluded campsite. Our property is located between 2 boat ramps which makes kayak, canoe, or raft floats a breeze. The property features beautiful, mature trees, fun bedrock to explore, and an amazing swimming hole (in the summertime when the river level is low enough). Sit at the river’s edge and enjoy the sounds of the water. Be sure to watch for soaring Eagles, jumping fish, and the occasional mink on the opposite river's edge! There are multiple wineries nearby and lots of hiking trails within a short drive. There is no cell service at the property - please plan ahead and check local burn ban policies before you go. The "owners area" camping spot is a large, graveled, gated area that has trees between the road and parking. There is a port-a-potty for use in the summer months. There is also a fire pit on the lower level overlooking the river, a hidden tree swing, and deck with picnic table. The "site 1" camping spot has a driveway that is hard-packed grass and is not gated. There is a small fire pit on the path by the river. There are areas under the trees both up top near the road and down near the path that are suitable for tents. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fully manicured campground. There are bushes and grasses that grow year round. We do our best to keep things trimmed and accessible. Sometimes (especially in the spring) things grow more quickly than we can get to them. Please don't expect this to be a perfectly mowed, backyard-type site.

Riverview Properties

1 site · RV, Tent1 acre · Myrtle Point, OR
Notice of weather slowly changing. In the rainy season the river does come up and gets pretty high after December We flood out a bit in Jan/ feb. I just want out of town folks to be aware. Not a safe place for small children during that time. I do welcome long term camping in the rainy season for a lower price.. We are 2 miles down a gravel road from Hwy 42 you will find yourself able to drive a 40' skoolie or rv down to this location. We now have a composting toilet and Shower! Easy access to back in or pull in and be 20' from the river. This site does have 110 outlets and water access from river with pump, small fire pit and camp chairs, The river has some big fish and a little bit of a sandy beach area depending on the tide. Shade trees or sun you have both and summers are very nice out here. No bears or cougars in the area, usually a racoon or possum or fox. Over all very quiet and peaceful. Gets warm down by the river out of the wind so come prepared. My property line is the rocks, please keep on my property. Thank you.

River, stream, or creek and dog-friendly camping near Winchester Bay guide

Overview

Situated where the Umpqua River meets the Pacific Ocean, Winchester Bay is a convenient starting point for exploring Oregon's southern coastline or experiencing the popular Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Here you'll find a solid selection of restaurants, most specializing in fresh seafood, plus a handful of boutiques and markets for picking up supplies and souvenirs. You can even rent an ATV (or get yours repaired or serviced) right in the heart of town. The beach here is also popular for crabbing and clamming, and Lake Marie, inside the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, is just a short jaunt south of the town center.

Where to go

Oregon's Central Coast

Up the coast from Winchester Bay, the Central Coast offers a mix of cozy beach towns and rugged expanses, with plenty of room to camp, both in state parks and on private land. The region also has plenty of attractions, including the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.

Oregon's South Coast

Winchester Bay is right on the South Coast, arguably the prettiest part of an already gorgeous coastline. It's also home to the sweeping sand dunes at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area close by.

Umpqua National Forest

Inland from Winchester Bay, the Umpqua National Forest features gorgeous old-growth forest land, beautiful lakes (including Crater Lake), and numerous waterfalls. It's also a great place to camp, with a variety of options ranging from primitive sites to well-developed campgrounds.

When to go

Winchester Bay and the surrounding region is best visited in summer, as July and August tend to get the warmest temperatures without much rain. September and June are also good bets, though be prepared for light showers. There are two whale-watching seasons on the Oregon coast: one in mid-December through mid-January and a second that runs from the end of March through May.
