Camping near Warm Springs

Situated between Bend and Portland, where the lush forests of the Mt. Hood National Forest give way to the arid beginnings of Eastern Oregon's high desert, Warm Springs draws in visitors interested in learning about the culture of the Confederated Tribes who live in the area as well as hikers, campers, and fly fishers keen on getting into the rich waters of the Deschutes River. Some of the closest camping options in the area are found in the Mt. Hood National Forest and the Deschutes National Forest, as well as on private acreage just south of town in areas such as Culver as well as Terrebonne, known for its proximity to the rock climbing mecca of Smith Rock. Hipcamps in this part of the state run the gamut, from tent and RV sites on private horse ranches, with a few comfy glampsites with canvas tents thrown in for good measure.
