Our camp is right off the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway just minutes away from Portland Women's Forum and Crown Point, the Jewel of the Columbia. Our facilities include an outdoor shower, a solar-powered composting toilet, fresh water, fire pits, and plenty of flat ground surrounded by trees for excellent camping! Please read this whole message so you are not surprised when you get here! Note: The use of the sauna, hot tub, and composting toilet are only for Glamp bookings! The campsites and tipi use the port-a-potty and have the use of an on-demand outdoor shower. Our home and farm is on two acres. Your tent site, is all in our ample acreage. Although pets are welcome, we expect them to be well-behaved around our two cats, our own big sweetie of a pup, Frejya, our two crazy goats Cupcake and Muffin, and our free-ranging chickens. Expect to hear some animal noises here on the farm. Our property literally borders the scenic highway. Because we are so close, you can hear the sunset-view-seeking drivers, motorcycle riders, and yes, racers who come out this way for a spin on one of the most scenic highways in the world. Traffic quiets down after dark and mornings are quite 'chill'. If you like what you are reading, please feel free to book with us and take off for your bike journey or hiking adventure from here. Wahclella Falls, Wahkeena Falls, Eagle Creek, and Multnomah Falls are among our favorites. Larch Mt, trails are always great for mushroom hunting or bird watching. Rick and Ellen are your hosts. Rules: - Check in time is strictly between 3-6pm. We are a working farm. We go to bed early and get up early. - No Pets (only canine companions allowed, this does not include emotional support animals) - We must have a credit card on file during your stay to cover any damages that may occur during your stay and to charge for guest fees in case your party has day visitors. - No fires except at communal fire pit - No Smoking on premises - Children must be attended by parents at all times - No firearms of any kind (this includes concealed carry permit weapons) - Do not feed the animals without our prior permission. - Pack out all items you pack in. We do not have garbage facilities. We rescue animals which are free range most of the time. Our horses are BIG and gentle. Our goats are very friendly, and have zero manners. Our horses and goats are prey animals so do not approach them. If the horses approach you they may let you pet them gently on the nose or might be curious and do not want to be touched. - DO NOT leave your children unattended with our animals at any time. We will not be held accountable for any accidents that may occur to you or your party during your stay here at Spirit’s Grove. Spirit’s Grove is on 40 acres of mostly natural forest. A few small streams run through the property, a Creek and 2 ponds, beaver dams, and a busy wildlife highways. A Firepit, Trails, Yurt, Tents, Bunkhouse, Camping Areas and Lodge. Hike around the trails on our 40 acres. Depending on the season you may see deer, elk, a variety of birds, rabbits, the elusive beavers, and more. There are seasonal mushrooms, wildflowers, herbs, a variety of trees, bushes, and plants. Sit, relax, watch the rescue animals, star gaze. DO NOT forage without prior approval! The front lawn and Firepit areas are open to the skies! Late summer, and fall, if the coastal winds are good, the skies are clear for shooting stars, satellites and even the Northern Lights in recent times. Bring a good lounge chair and blankets, and sit out after dark gazing at the stars and Milky Way. There are a couple taverns and restaurants within minutes of Spirit’s Grove, where you can enjoy good food and drinks. And there is a local grocery store about 7 miles from our location as well. The Lodge is available for Events or Retreats for separate fees. CHECK OUT our website for your Event needs. Guided walks are available, when weather permits and appointments are made 2 weeks in advance.

Camp Sandy & Farm!

Located 35 minutes from Portland, Camp Sandy and Farm. This farm is over a 100 years old and the original barn is located on the property with plans to restore and bring it back to it's glory days! Due to the ongoing issues with forest fires in our area, we are not allowing open wood-burning fires. Propane fires are permitted, if you have a portable campfire ring, please feel free to bring your own. For your safety and ours: no check in/arrival after dark sets in. Around 5:15PM during winter months, 8:30PM summer. Campground hosts (Vanessa and Isiah) live on site and will greet you at arrival. There are many reasons why you would want to book a stay at Camp Sandy! We offer the perfect getaway for friends, family, reunions, retreats, or private getaway. PLEASE NOTE (read before booking): Parking is not near your campsite, you will need to park at the top of the hill (look for visitor parking sign) and walk 1/4 miles (15 minutes or less) to your campground. Note, you will need to walk back up the hill on your return, pack light, bring hiking shoes, and enjoy the view!! Other things to note: This is a real working farm, on the way down to your campsite you may see some farmers watering and taking care of their crops, feel free to give 'em a smile and a wave on your way down to the campsite! By next summer, guests will be able to buy farm produce and goods. How to access the river: There are signage indicating where the trail head begins. You will walk through beautiful forest to reach the beach. At the fork in the forest, keep right. We rate this hike medium to easy and will take the average hiker about 20 minutes or less. It’s an adventure and you will be rewarded with amazing views. If you want to access the sandy river by driving, we recommend you check out Dodge Park a 5 minute drive from Camp Sandy. About Camp Sandy: Nestled in the heart of nature's embrace, our campsite offers the ultimate escape from the chaos of everyday life. Breathe in the crisp, clean air as you step outside your cozy tent, ready to embark on a day filled with relaxation and adventure. Camp Sandy sits above the beautiful Sandy River valley, please be mindful of your surroundings. For those who love to fish, bring your gear and license and hike down to the river to enjoy the open BLM land. If you prefer a more laid-back experience, find your perfect spot on the riverbank and immerse yourself in a captivating book, serenaded by the gentle sound of the river.
