My friend and I had a wonderful stay- despite it being cold and rainy, we were able to feel cozy. We returned from a day of hiking in the redwoods and Mea was wonderful about coordinating so the hot tub and sauna were all warmed up when we got back. She also gave us extra towels to keep the floor (and all of us) dry with the rain. It was my first time bringing my puppy/teen dog on a “camping trip” and this was a good way to ease her into it and keep her comfortable! Very kind and thoughtful people on the property. I would definitely recommend staying! We all felt very safe here.

Loved staying in the gnome dome! Watch out for spiders, we had a few of those on the walls but nothing to make it a bad experience overall! Our faves were definitely the sauna and the river overlook showers!!

We had no idea what was to be offered when we booked this campsite. We did open camping during winter, there were cabins as well! The amenities were beautiful. There was so much wildlife. It felt like a beauty retreat!

The Gnome Dome was perfect! I Went the beginning of January, and even with the temperatures below 40 degrees it was warm and cozy! They provided a big buddy propane heater along with natural hemp style blankets! Perfect night! Beautiful setting! Along with the rain hitting the roof with no one around, I couldn’t have asked for a better night! My dog was free to roam and be a dog without worry and Samantha the host was fantastic! Looking forward to staying there again soon! Thanks again for accepting my last minute booking! I adored it!

We had a great time during our stay! The site was well taken care of. The bathrooms/bathing areas were pristine. We didn’t use the kitchen but it looked LEGIT - a true chefs kitchen. We appreciated the sauna and the views. I am grateful to our hosts for making this experience relaxing and nurturing. 10/10 recommend.

I love Cedar Bloom! This is my second time booking open camping. I brought my partner this time and we enjoyed seeing the river, sipping hot drinks in the outdoor tea room, cooking in the screened-in kitchen, and most of all the sauna!!! It was a magical time of year to see this property and I loved watching the mist roll off of the mountains and the winter sun lighting up the mossy trees.

This camp is wonderful. Hot showers overlooking the river. A full kitchen to use. A sauna to use. Clean porta potty toilets with a lot of fresh air and dried lavender. We had a campfire 🔥. It was perfect and beautiful. Highly recommend staying here.

Howling Acres Ranch was the retreat we needed to start our honeymoon. Cara’s property is tucked in a quaint little town with plenty to do locally, yet preserves a feeling of seclusion with beautiful views. Along with the expected accommodations, there was more than we needed: extra blankets, towels (which we forgot to pack), a single electric burner, a French press, coffee grounds, an electric kettle, and mugs. During the day we found ourselves lounging on the spacious and comfortable futon on the ground level. At night we exited through the sliding glass doors which open up to the outdoor patio area. This space was perfect for an evening outside, as there was a gas fire pit and string lights overhead. Within eyesight of the cabin is the bathroom area, comprised of a compost toilet, a sink, and a shower. The space was clean and well maintained. Cara was friendly and responsive through out our stay. And there was even a friendly dog to greet us when we arrived. The property was easy to find and instructions were clear. All in all we highly recommend booking this spot. Wether you are a traveler looking for a place to lay your head, or a local looking for an evening of glamping, this spot will meet your needs. Our honeymoon wouldn’t have been the same without it.

Cedar Bloom was purchased in the spring of 2017 by Spirit Weavers Gathering as a place of peace and healing, for all walks of life. Spirit Weavers is an annual women's gathering which happens once a year each June. We host over 1,200 women in just two weeks on the land. Our beautiful forested land is located in Southern Oregon, in a small town off the 199 Redwood Highway. The land which we call home is 100 acres of beautiful protected forest and sits upon a mile of the Illinois River. We are very fortunate to be surrounded by a widely diverse population of flora and fauna. As caretakers of this sacred land, we feel a strong responsibility to honor our plant and animal allies by not only protecting them and their habitat, but also to help educate others about what lives and grows here by providing people with opportunities to experience the beauty of these plants and animals for themselves. For this reason, We are honored to host the many different groups who will gather here on this land for learning and communing with the nature that flourishes here. We are located in southern Oregon near Crater Lake NP, just off of hwy 62, part of the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway, more commonly known as the "highway of waterfalls" and near the little town of Prospect on what is known as the beautiful side of Crater Lake NP. Three waterfalls, the Prospect Cafe, and the Historic Hotel are all within a two-mile radius. If you're after that famous pie at Beckie's Cafe, you are 10 minutes close. Our 100 acre ranch allows us to host guests in their own RV's, at camp/tent sites, or in our new A-frame Cabin all located in private, and even secluded, sites. Several well maintained trails wind throughout the property and can be enjoyed by guests. Nature enthusiasts enjoy the hiking, wildlife viewing, and the beautiful ponds and woods. Crater Lake Woodlands is part of the historic Katydid Ranch. Once owned by Boise Cascade who used it both for growing seedlings to replant logged mountain sides and as a vacation getaway for their executives, the story of Katydid Ranch goes back to the early 1900's when it's owner named "Katy" used it as the "half-way" overnight lodging for horse & buggy guests traveling to Crater Lake from the Rogue Valley. Leaving the valley at the crack of dawn, they could arrive at "Katy's" by nightfall, in time for a meal and sound mountain sleep. They'd hitch up at dawn and make it to Crater Lake by nightfall. Historically, the first residents were the Rogue River Takelma and Latgawa native Americans. Latgawa lived in the Rogue Valley of interior southwest Oregon. In their own language "Latgawa" means "those living in the “uplands," though they were also known as the Walumskni by the neighboring Klamath tribes. Specifically, Ha-ne-sakh. The Latgawa were one of two peoples who spoke the Takelma language. They were hunters, gatherers, weavers and fished the Rogue River. They were known to have a stationary settlement and trading post at the Katydid Ranch location. Their tribes lived in the upper Rogue River area extending beyond Prospect and Union up to Crater Lake. Since we've owned the Ranch, we've maintained the custom of welcoming overnight guests and at the same time, we continue to honor the protected wildlife designation given to it back in the 50's. Wildlife viewing is one the delights we share with our guests. Please be mindful of native wildlife keeping dogs on leash so as to avoid chasing and barking at wildlife. Thank you. The animals here include, but are not limited to black tail deer, elk, fox, coyote, ringtailed cat, raccoon, skunk, and also typically farther up the mountain are the elusive mountain lions and black bear which we have never spotted on our property. The ponds and surrounding area are home to migratory to the Oregon Pond turtle, Canada geese, quail, wild turkeys, various owls including the great horned owls, hawks, cranes and eagles. Our pond bird watcher friends spotted Common Mergansers, Ring Necked Ducks, Canada Geese…and a Loon. The bull frogs orchestrate the evening and can be heard at times throughout the day. Katydid Ranch is a wildlife sanctuary. The flora and fauna of the forest is abundant and diverse. This land is home to many native grasses, ferns, and berries, wild flowers, as well as many other edible and medicinal plants and numerous varieties of mushrooms. If you are visiting during blackberry season, feel free to pick, pick, pick and indulge. Katydid trees include old growth Douglas Fir, Ponderosa, Sugar, and Jeffrey Pine, various Cedar tree varieties, Incense Cedar, the majestic Pacific Madrone, Alder, Big Leaf Maple, Black and White Oak, Dog wood, and Vine Maple. This space has a private, cozy feel to it. The tent consists of a queen-sized bed, memory foam mattress with luxury hotel quality linens, folding table and chairs, Yeti cooler stocked with ice, and outdoor lounge seating. The tent also comes equipped with the essentials such as, wool blankets, plush towels, LED lanterns, board games, his and her robes, folding table & chairs, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and firewood. The composting restroom has a toilet and motion sensor lighting. On the outside of the restroom is the sink with hot and cold running water. As you continue along the stone path to the outdoor shower, you'll find a rainfall shower head as well as all the products you need, not to mention the most incredible views of the river! Our outdoor cookshack comes with a grill, bar sink, trash, and basic cooking and eating utensils. This space also has views of the river and large FarmStyle table and chairs for dining. The site is equipped with motion sensor path lighting around the tent and also the along the path leading from the parking area to the tent. Everything is crafted for relaxation and quality time with your friends or loved one. Take a nap in a hammock, play Jenga on the deck, read a book, or take a hike. There is something here for everyone, any time of year. Guest access The entire property is for your use. The driveway is gated with use of a keypad for entry. Other things to note... Wildlife will often cross the property, mainly deer, turkey, and some elk. There is over 100 acres of BLM land adjoining our property on two sides with miles of trails to explore. Breathtaking river views abound. The tent faces west, making for a nightly sunset show from the tent and deck.
