The "Farmer For A Day!"

4 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres · Corbett, OR
Our property was homesteaded in 1919 by L.T. (Toot) and Doris Evans. We began working on our non-profit, children's program in 1992 and opened to serve kids in 1998. Old McDonald's Farm, Inc. utilizes Farm Program animals, agriculture, gardens and beautiful, natural resources to "teach and reach" children and youth. We offer many programs and "The Farmer For A Day Program" is just one. This one is open to older children and their families. We look forward to meeting you and having you join us as our guest!

Hoodland Basecamp at Scrumpy Farest

12 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents39 acres · Sandy, OR
*** On/around October 1, 2024 we will be shutting down the waterlines to the camp bathroom/shower to avoid frozen/burst water lines. Sites will still be available, and the toilet will still be operational, but shower/washing/drinking water will not be available until May 2025. Thank you!! Wanna have a home base for your Hoodland escapades? We're right at the doorstep to Portland, Cascades, Columbia River Gorge, even the coast! Sick of city life's craziness? We've got your forest fix without the campground menagerie. Fancy living the farm life for a hot minute? You'll keep company with the sheep, chickens, ducks, and pigs but won't actually have to do the morning chores. Our farm is 20 acres of rewilding forest and 19 acres of orchard, pasture, and farm realness. We're raising food AND making space for wildlife and nature to thrive. Campsites are all private forest hideaways with wood-chip pads and redwood furniture. We like to think of it as Four Seasons camping: more stars, more nature, but a bit less room service. And if pitching a tent is pinching your style, we've got you covered with tent-furnished sites too. Explore our trails, peep at the animals, find your zen in a forest bath. Just remember: stay on the trail (Mother Nature's a diva), close the gates (we're not running a petting zoo), and don't play with fire (unless the fire department says it's cool). And please pack out your trash and leave your campsite looking tidy for the next guest. Need more info? See @scrumpyforest or https://scrumpyforestfarm.square.site.

A Visitors Haven

1 site · RV8 acres · Vancouver, WA
We would love to share our beautiful wooded 8 acres. We live here but your site is far enough from our house for privacy. The RV pad is surrounded by trees. Our RV space will easily park a 38ft. RV. It has full hookups with either 30 amp or 50-amp power. You are only 2 miles from shopping and only miles from Lackamas Lake and Battleground Lake for hiking, swimming, biking, boating and fishing. Down the road about 1/4 mile is Velvet Acres barn where you can buy fresh produce in July, August and September, then in October it's a Pumpkin Patch. Be sure while you’re here you visit Vancouvers waterfront downtown. Great shops and excellent places to eat. On weekends there’s a large farmers market that has all kinds of fresh produce. While here be sure to drive out to the gorge, it is one of the more breathtaking sites in the NW. We are 10 miles from the Columbia River and 36 miles from Multnomah Falls. On a nice day you can drive to the beach to cool off, it's about 90 miles to Longbeach. Being in the wetlands we have a lot of trees for privacy. The RV area is at the end of an area that is gated for security. There is a grassy area outside your door and a grassy area out back of your RV. We have trails you are welcome to use. You will see bunnies and all kinds of birds as well as deer that visit now and then. Although they have built homes on the west side the fence and trees give plenty of privacy. They recently started a home that should be done within a month. Contact me for updates. This is a perfect place if visiting the area or it’s a great place for snowbirds or workers that are in this area for weeks or months. Text me ahead for openings. Please email me about exceptions on dogs weight and group size.

Cold Springs Farm

5 sites · RVs, Tents30 acres · Corbett, OR
Coming in at roughly 30 acres, Cold Springs Farm, established in 1915, sits nestled in its own little valley. A canyon running the north of the property in known for its wildlife population including bear, deer and elk. Our farms sits on an elk migration trail and, in April and October, we often see herds of 30 or more. The farm's namesake spring feeds a small pond that has crawdads, ducks and Blue Heron; of course, there are also curious raccoons about. We eventually intend to stock the pond with Rainbow Trout. Although we are a short 30-minutes to Portland, our private farm is free from unwanted lights and traffic, when the skies are clear starwatchers have many vantage points from which they can indulge their hobby! Our wide-open field is great for kite flying or frisbee; it's also a great place to practice your drone piloting skills. We also have paths in the tree line that you can hike and birdwatch or mountain bike. In August, you have access to pick as many blackberries as you want and trust me they delicious. Cold Springs Farm is also a sanctuary. Our current residents include our KuneKune oinkers; Chris P Bacon, Wilber, Pigit, Hamish McBiscuit and our newest member Rowdy. The resident goats include; Dolly, Freddy McNubbins, Princess Daisy Mae, Mikey, Mildred (Milly), Marvin the bottle baby, Dafne, Booger, Cyranose "Nose" and Delilah the resident therapy goat. Rounding out the bunch are our farm dogs, Oscar Braveheart, Hoppin' Howie and Lulubear. You can see their adventures on Instagram @worst.farmer.ever We look forward to welcoming to our Columbia River Gorge farm and introducing you to what our beautiful area has to offer. We are just minutes from many of the gorge waterfall hikes including the historic Multnomah falls and Vista House sitting on Crown Point. One Oregon's favorite summer concert venue, McMenamins Edgefield, is a short 10 miles. Concerts, wine tasting, and hiking within a short distance of the campsite, plus goat and pigs cuddles. It's memories in the making.

The Burke Cabin

8 sites · Lodging34 acres · Rhododendron , OR
My husband, Chandler and I were both lucky enough to have grown up in the beautiful Mt. Hood area. Now with hard work and determination we are raising our five children in this magical place. A few years ago Chandler sold a large portion of his company and we purchased our rustic log cabin. We love the idea of sharing our peaceful cabin and property with the world! We recently decide to put our primary home on the site, to allow us to catch up on our debt. We are so thankful that both our places are loved by our guests. Renting our homes has allowed us to work a little less and enjoy our little ones while they are still little. Learn more about this land:Rustic log cabin on secluded 34 acres with exceptional Mt. Hood and Zig Zag wilderness views all around. Only 3.3 miles from highway 26. The property is horse trailer accessible. Just moments away from endless hiking, horse trails, and sandy river beaches...not to mention all the other Mt. Hood area attractions. We also rent our property for weddings, family reunions, camp-outs, graduation parties and other events. Bring your own bedding and towels or we can supply them for you to use for an additional fee.
