The large Spruce trees that cover the land, stand with strong branches covered with magnificent green needles. These needles collect water vapor from the air, offering water droplets onto the ground. This process has provided a vibrant natural habitat. Perfect for a large group. We have a big tree swing and an adult size teeter totter for you to enjoy. There is a horseshoe area. The camping sites are back in only, so if you have trouble backing in, I am happy to help. Each spot has a fire pit with first firewood supplied, (additional be purchased) and a picnic table. Surrounding area is sagebrush, 2 miles from Wallowa National Forest with miles and miles of wilderness trails, lakes and Mountain fishing, ATVs, hiking, biking. You can ride your ATVs right from the camp. There is huckleberry and mushroom picking in early summer and late spring. Local wildlife consists of deer, elk, eagles and owls, pheasants, quail, wild turkeys, all kinds of birds, (even an occasional farm chicken may wander by) and coyotes and frogs calling at night. My friendly labs like to come say hi. Campsites are for tents or RVs. Our electric is shared among the campsites. Our water is from a wonderful deep cold well that’s piped to a shared outlet in the middle of the RV camp. Bring a hose to hook up, we have one if you need one. Guest Wi-Fi if you’re close to the store. Cell service is limited. I do allow generators if you are not sharing the park with anyone else. If you’re the only ones, no quiet time, if others are camping, quiet time is from 10:00 pm - 7:00 am. Site 1: largest fire pit, close to the power hook up, the most shady spot but still sunny, closest to the park. Site 2: A bit of shade, most of the day in sun. Closest to water hook up. Site 3: A Sunny site, a little late afternoon shade. A little more privacy as it’s the last spot. Farthest stretch for water and power, but I provide an extension power cord to it. Our little store has items you may need if you run out or forget something. We also sell regular gas.

Spirit's Grove

Spirit’s Grove is on 40 acres mostly natural forest. A few small streams run through the property, along the Creek and its 2 ponds, beaver dams, and busy wildlife highways. A Firepit, Trails, Yurt, Tents, Bunkhouse, Camping Areas and Lodge. Various Classes and Treatments are available with prior arrangements. And also just respite. The resident horses, goats, cows and cats are all rescues that have found their way into our hearts and home, and share the spaces. Within 15 minutes are some taverns and a restaurant, where you can enjoy good food and drinks. The Lodge is available for Events and Parties for separate fees. Contact us for your event needs. The over 2000sqft Retreat Center has a private Kitchen, Bar, Dining Hall, large outdoor Patio area and Gazebo. From April to October, every third Saturday is a public Firepit. Everyone is invited to attend. Bring musical instruments, prepare to talk and share stories, bring snacks, and gaze at the sky. Guided walks are available. Fires are only allowed in the Firepit and designated cooking areas.

Camp Sandy & Farm!

Located 35 minutes from Portland, Camp Sandy and Farm. This farm is over a 100 years old and the original barn is located on the property with plans to restore and bring it back to it's glory days! Due to the ongoing issues with forest fires in our area, we are not allowing open wood-burning fires. Propane fires are permitted, if you have a portable campfire ring, please feel free to bring your own. For your safety and ours: no check in/arrival after dark sets in. Around 5:15PM during winter months, 8:30PM summer. Campground hosts (Vanessa and Isiah) live on site and will greet you at arrival. There are many reasons why you would want to book a stay at Camp Sandy! We offer the perfect getaway for friends, family, reunions, retreats, or private getaway. PLEASE NOTE (read before booking): Parking is not near your campsite, you will need to park at the top of the hill (look for visitor parking sign) and walk 1/4 miles (15 minutes or less) to your campground. Note, you will need to walk back up the hill on your return, pack light, bring hiking shoes, and enjoy the view!! Other things to note: This is a real working farm, on the way down to your campsite you may see some farmers watering and taking care of their crops, feel free to give 'em a smile and a wave on your way down to the campsite! By next summer, guests will be able to buy farm produce and goods. How to access the river: There are signage indicating where the trail head begins. You will walk through beautiful forest to reach the beach. At the fork in the forest, keep right. We rate this hike medium to easy and will take the average hiker about 20 minutes or less. It’s an adventure and you will be rewarded with amazing views. If you want to access the sandy river by driving, we recommend you check out Dodge Park a 5 minute drive from Camp Sandy.
