Beautiful 360 acres of vacant forest land with creeks, springs, views, and trails, surrounded hard-to-access public land with old-growth forests. Old logging roads are everywhere, excellent for mountain biking and hiking or just a walk. Meadows feature flat spots for camping. The property has 990 feet of elevation drop from the top to creek and 1.2 miles of ridgetop. Not far from Highway 199 or town, just 10 minutes to a small store and Highway 199, and 20–25 minutes to Grants Pass and I-5. Take a dip in the creek, bike, hike, hunt for mushrooms, or simply relax in the peaceful atmosphere. A disc golf basket sits in the meadow Roads are bumpy, so no sports cars or overloaded vehicles; SUVs are fine. It’s a beautiful journey to get here, with one mile of gravel/dirt road leading from the pavement to the meadow. You may occasionally hear ATVs far up on the hill, but not often.

Camp right on the Applegate river with us and enjoy the song of water on the rocks! Relax into the end-of-the-road privacy while still being 10 min to Grants Pass and 5 min to the nearest convenience store. We have 5 acres of grass and conifers, with madrone and oak and big leaf maple throughout. There are alders and cottonwood by the water. The main house is at the top of the property. We have several fire pits and places to camp in tents, hammocks, or RVs. We have delicious well water and fire wood stocked. We are a large family of colorful people and animals living a little up river from the merge with the Rogue River. We are open to animal guests, but there are free range chickens and cats, as well as small children on the property.

After four months camping throughout the PNW The Spot is firmly tied for my favorite hipcamp of them all. The host is kind & attentive without being at all intrusive. He went out of his way to make my stay pleasant. The property itself feels endless and is FULL of hidden surprises and incredibly beautiful spots. I'm taking fairy tale beautiful. While I dont hike far at a time...the options for trails are limitless from what I can see and my Frenchie and I have enjoyed seeking out as much hiking as we can handle! The property is far enough away from civilization that you can be out of cell & wifi range on most of it...but close enough to a town that you can get ice

Weekend Trip to Mountains of the Moon

Joe's land is stunning! I enjoyed my time there so much that I'm already thinking about returning for a longer stay. The creekside campsite is exactly the escapist get-away-from-the-noise-of-it-all fantasy that I'm always looking for. After a walk around the woods and a dip in the creek, the sound of the forest lulled me to sleep (the best night of sleep I've had in ages). Joe's a super nice, communicative guy and gave detailed instructions for finding the place (which you will definitely need ... getting there is part of the adventure!). In my opinion, he is the ideal camp host: out of sight while also being on-site, just in case you need him. He's working on improvements to the place and I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

This place had a nice little swim hole at the end of the dirt road going through the property. It also had a nice deck to hang out on. There was bed linen, dishes, a propane cooker, a pot, a pan, and a mini fridge. You do have to walk to the composting toilet out-house. FYI for the females. Travis was a great host though. He made sure to answer any questions we had. He also takes people rafting if you’re interested in stuff like that. The dog just had puppies and my kids loved hanging out with the puppy they kept and the mother. There’s also a shower they built under the tree house.
