Red Barn Vintage Airstream

The Red Barn on our funky little farm is a great location for family friendly folks  looking to spend a weekend in Hood River skiing, biking, kiting, wine tasting and exploring without having to bring all your own camping gear. It's more of a glamping vibe in a sweet old Airstream, with access to a restored 1905 barn with your own bathroom and food prep space (hotplate, running water, cozy vibes). In the summers, we run a small flower farm operation on the property and have converted the old pear orchard into a children's garden and playscape with a pirate ship. The barn is also headquarters to our non-profit (Red Barn Community) that hosts monthly music gatherings during the cozy months and nature-based educational programs and workshops throughout the year during the weekdays.

Justesen Ranches is family owned working cattle, wheat and recreation ranch.  Our properties are located in the Columbia River Plateau in North Central Oregon.  
Enjoy wide open spaces, reservoirs for wildlife watching and clear night skies for star gazing. This is a leave no trace, pack it in, pack it out camping area.
The property is located in Tygh Valley and is only a few minutes from the general store and the stunning White River Falls State Park. The Deschutes River whitewater rafting hub of Maupin is just a 10 minute drive away. The lodge two hours from Portland and 30 min from The Dalles.

The Windward Forest

For thirty years, the Windward community has been developing its stewardship forest as a home for a variety of sustainability systems using renewable energy systems and cooperative community. Learn more about this land:Our 40-acre campground is adjacent to our main sustainability research center. It is completely isolated from the world at large. Our forest is located in a transitional zone where you'll see Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine growing side by side among century-old oak trees.  From here you can tube the wild Klickitat, hike the alpine slopes of Mt. Adams or windsurf the Columbia.

Legend has it that the cabin was a stage coach stop for the US Army.  Our deed is signed in 1899 by then President Benjamin Harrison.  Learn more about this land:This is a cozy little RV, 13 years old yet fairly pristine. Queen bed and main room: fold out 3/4 bed and another pull out to a twin. Small kitchen and small bathroom, a bit larger than that of an airplane. Heat and AC. Parked on our rural property, exceedingly quiet, stones throw from Dry Creek which runs from October to May.  You are two miles from the Columbia River, in the Gorge.  Great hiking, biking, fishing, water sports on the river.  You will be sleeping in our little private park. Old out buildings and log cabin on the property might make you think you are in the old west. Great private place while you enjoy family, friends, and all the Gorge has to offer. No smoking, of anything. $40 non-refundable cleaning deposit.

Nadja's Hideway

Happy New Year! 
We’ll be ready to open up again this spring, so start planning for the 2024 season. Hope you can be our guest this year. 

Play in Hood River during the day, relax in the country at night. We're 6.5 miles up in the hills, called High Prairie, above the sleepy town Lyle.

Enjoy the peace on our 5 acre hideaway, wake up with the chickens - we have a rooster just FYI -

(and yes we sell fresh eggs :). Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips.

The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, breakfast place and the Sandbar that has good food and some entertainment.

Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or

The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

 Here we find a lot of agates, Jasper, And many other Rocks so feel free to rockbound away, in 2011 we went thru a crazy 8 days of a wild land fire we refused to leave and stayed to protect our home  as you can see by google maps we where dead center of if. SO please make sure your are very care full with your camp fires have fun I hope you get to enjoy the wild life around hereLearn more about this land:We are Located Just off HWY 97 north of Goldendale Washington In the semcoe mountains. With a lot off cool things to see and do ,Fishing, Biking, hiking, rock hounding, boating, wild life, and many more community activity's,
