Find an escape on this small blueberry farm in Sherwood Oregon. Campsite is bordered by a small year-round Creek, there is lots of shade and privacy. We also are located for easy access to local summer attractions, wineries, restaurants etc. Campfires and book reading have been very popular here at Bear Hollow! Check in before sunset for your best experience! (Late arrivals can be requested for an additional fee. Our campsite has a compostable toilet, potable water, picnic table, and allows campfires (outside of a burn ban). We are pet friendly. You must keep your pet with you and on leash or lead. This property is owned by the Dauenhauer family and was initially operated as a multi-functional farm raising a thousand acres in various crops. In the early 1980's the family began planting grapes on the property and now the vineyard is the predominate feature for the farm. Most of the vineyard production is sold to wineries located across the state, however the family does retain a small amount of grapes each year for their private wine label "Hauer of the Dauen". You are welcome to stop by the farm for wine tasting on Saturday and Sunday's 12:00-5:00pm. The park and campground area is a recent addition to the farm and had been a vision for quite some time.

Zenith is a 133 acre vineyard with 87 acres of grapes planted. We are a working farm so expect that there will be farm workers and tractors moving but not in your immediate area. We also are a tasting room for our beautiful Zenith wines and we do events. Learn more about this land: Park your RV or trailer in a mowed grassy field (summer months) surrounded by vineyard or on a gravel lot (year round) and enjoy the 133 acre Zenith Vineyard. Please plan to schedule a tasting of Zenith wines at our tasting room. Zenith is a working farm and so there will be vineyard labor and tractors in the area. Zenith Vineyards was a lovely, quiet place for conveniently spending an autumn night in my little tent while visiting family nearby. I simply parked out near the barn at the edge of a vineyard and pitched my tent on a level spot. I didn't need any facilities, so it was just right.

We were camped in the middle of the vineyard which was breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. It was just a short walk through the vineyard to go to the tasting room. The owners and their family were all very gracious and quite friendly and inviting. The staff was very friendly and informative about the wine and the production of the wine! We would definitely come back to Zenith Vineyards especially during the harvest season!

The property is large and beautifully maintained. It has a mix of shaded and open areas for camping and recreation. It was great for a family gathering. There's a great fire pit, wood supplied, electric hookup and lighting and potable water available. The composting toilet was quite pleasant. The hosts were gracious and we had the run of most of the property, including the blueberry fields for picking from the last of the available berries. There was some road noise from the nearby roadway, but it wasn't a big bother.

The spot we put our airstream trailer on was under a shady tree with views over their vineyard and towards the coast. We saw barn owls, a Northern Harrier and heard cayotes in the night. We love camping at Valerie and George's place. Aside from the fact that it is a working blueberry farm, which in itself is wonderful, the camping space is lovely, private and secure. They have put together a very functional camping area, with 2 picnic tables, with lights, a great outhouse and water. Definitely recommended!

Where to go

Tillamook

A short drive from Beaver, Tillamook is home to a number of museums as well as a forest center and a popular creamery offering tours and plenty of cheese samples. The coastal city also has plenty of great dining options where seafood takes center stage.

Along the Oregon Coast

Camping in and around Beaver gives you easy access to miles of beautiful Oregon coastline. Nearby highlights include Tierra Del Mar and Cape Lookout State Park.

The Van Duzer Corridor

South of Beaver lies the Van Duzer Corridor, a beautiful stretch of forest part of the greater Willamette Valley AVA. Here you'll find a handful of tasting rooms and wineries serving up the local specialty: Pinot Noir.

When to go

If beautiful views are what you are after, the Oregon Coast is fantastic any time of year, but the late spring and summer months are generally best, when it’s less likely to be rainy. Summer in particular is ideal for camping in the region, although it’s important to note that campsites fill up quickly and first-come, first-served sites can be difficult to secure, particularly during summer vacation. Things calm down a bit after Labor Day.
