Heartline Ranch and Tipi Village

Stay in one of  our Native American Tipis, nestled into the forest next to the Winema National Forest. We have miles of hiking trails, and lots of wildlife in the way of birds, bunnys, chipmonks and the occasional deer and elk, and are across from the Pelican Butte mountains. Experience what few get to know- what it's like to be in a real Native American Tipi. Come experience the outdoors as Natives have lived. This isn't any airconditioned motel room- this is the real deal. Owners are Native American. An experience of a lifetime. Questions will be answered, info. available. Also a art gallery of their artwork is on site in the office. Come and enjoy!

Their ranch, Heartline Ranch & Tipi Village is on Crater Lake Highway (Hwy 62) just 26 miles down from Crater Lake. They have designated 15 acres for a primitive Campgrounds and Tipi village sites. September of 2020 we were sadly effected by the Wildfire- TwoFourTwo which took 5 of our 6 tipis. We have been able to clean up, regrow and make ready for camping guests. We once again have 6 tipis, all beautiful, and in addition, 6 new camping sites for people with their own tents. Sorry, NO rv's (vans are allowed.) Its wonderful to see all the beautiful regrowth, and to see that most of our trees have regenerated. It is now once again a beautiful place to be.

      It is their love for this land and a desire to share the beauty and Native experience with others to led them to open up these campgrounds. There is 15 acres in the immediate campgrounds &  6 tipi sites and 6 camping sites for folks with their own tents, so LOTS of privacy. Our ranch has 250 acres of land, great hiking trails that you will have access to for hiking, next to the Winema National Forest, and connected to the Pacific Crest Trail.

 You will have space to enjoy this beauty. The owner's horses are rescue horses and are their own private property. Please do NOT feed them or go up to them without the owners being there. Horses have delicate stomachs. Our gentle giants are mellow but very big so please stay OUT of their pasture. You may help us during their feeding time, if you ask owners.

Fire pit for marshmallows, or to keep warm on those cold nights.

Oregon for Everyone

Come and set up camp below your own private Butte, steps away from the Fremont Winema National Forest. 

 Small but mighty butte offers panoramic views of the Sprague River Valley.  7 acres of gently sloping terrain with grassland, rabbitbrush, manzanita, gooseberries, juniper, and bitter crab apples, bordering Fremont Winema National Forest. Site is well suited to meditation, hiking, leave no trace camping, orienteering, geocaching, stargazing. Good base camp during hunting season. Highly recommended for folks thinking of moving to the area.  Off grid paradise! 

The feel of this land varies based on your view. On the lower east side by the road you will be able to see the neighbor and his off grid solar setup. On the west side you see national forest property, and your view of neighbor and road will be blocked by the Butte. Hike up to the lower Butte or climb to the upper Butte to see lovely views of the Sprague River Valley, which includes farms, forest and neighboring parcels.

Please make sure to bring a 4x4 vehicle as the road quality can be extremely rutted and rocky for a brief stretch on both routes in to the property.

Recent update (2024):  There seem to be two different pages where you can find this property now - on one of them, hipcamp includes pictures from both of the properties that I have listed, along with the property description. (Kingfisher property no longer campable due to the Golden fire in 2023).

If you are looking at a page that has Oregon for Everyone at the top and Canyon Butte High Desert Camping by the photos, with an option to click on 10 photos, that is the correct page and info.

If your page says Oregon for Everyone but no specific site name, and gives you the option to click on 18 photos, you are seeing photos of both properties. If you search Canyon Butte you should be able to get to the correct page and photos. 

I will contact hipcamp to see if they can fix this.

Junipers Reservoir Campground

Junipers Reservoir RV Resort was created approximately 30 years ago.  The RV resort sits at the end of a one mile gravel driveway, on the edge of a juniper forest overlooking the 200 acre Junipers Reservoir and its surrounding meadows. A large lawn and cedar buildings sit at the center of the oval shaped RV park, with the generously sized camping sites angled along the outside edge to provide the best views.  The resort boasts free fishing in the reservoir for trout, hiking and biking trails, rock-hounding, bird watching, wildlife viewing, horseshoes, and volleyball.  The view from the open air pavilion is spectacular!Learn more about this land:Located in the heart of a 5,000 acre cattle ranch.  We have hot showers, laundry machines, restrooms, BBQ's,  Covered Pavilion, park benches, and lots of lawns.  Plenty of room for tent campers.  We have an enclosed dog off-leash run area.   Plenty of trees for shade, fresh air and blue skies.  At night we are far enough from town that the dark night lights up with stars.  We have a 200 acre lake for fishing (trout) and miles of trails to hike or bike on the ranch.   The rate shown here is for Tent Camping
