Spirit Weavers is an annual women's gathering which happens once a year each June. We host over 1,200 women in just two weeks on the land. This 200 acre property is located within the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument, a land bridge where two mountain ranges meet, creating immense biodiversity and natural beauty. Please note that we are a working farm with sheep, cattle, horses, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats, pigeons and bees. We ask that you are considerate to all the life happening on the land, observing animals at a distance (except the cats, who will not allow for that) and being aware of electric fences. If you bring dogs to the land, (an option only with RV sites) do so at your own risk. Dogs will need to be leashed at all times and cleaned up after meticulously. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe and the land well cared for. Currently there are two vintage trailers and two RV sites available. By summer of 2026 we hope to also offer walk-in campsites by the creek!

Summer recreational areas are nearby with miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby. Howard Prairie Lake is across the road. Howard Prairie Lake is a local favorite for fishing for Rainbow Trout and smallmouth bass. Birdwatchers can see eagles, pelicans, geese, ducks, hawks, herons, and many other bird species. A 20-minute drive will take you to Lake of the Woods, where you can dine, hike, and kayak, or snowshoe and cross-country ski in the winter. Crater Lake National Park is 50 miles away.

Three waterfalls, the Prospect Cafe, and the Historic Hotel are all within a two-mile radius. If you're after that famous pie at Beckie's Cafe, you are 10 minutes close. Our 100 acre ranch allows us to host guests in their own RV's, at camp/tent sites, or in our new A-frame Cabin all located in private, and even secluded, sites. Several well maintained trails wind throughout the property and can be enjoyed by guests. Nature enthusiasts enjoy the hiking, wildlife viewing, and the beautiful ponds and woods. Crater Lake Woodlands is part of the historic Katydid Ranch. Once owned by Boise Cascade who used it both for growing seedlings to replant logged mountain sides and as a vacation getaway for their executives, the story of Katydid Ranch goes back to the early 1900's when it's owner named "Katy" used it as the "half-way" overnight lodging for horse & buggy guests traveling to Crater Lake from the Rogue Valley. Leaving the valley at the crack of dawn, they could arrive at "Katy's" by nightfall, in time for a meal and sound mountain sleep. They'd hitch up at dawn and make it to Crater Lake by nightfall. Historically, the first residents were the Rogue River Takelma and Latgawa native Americans. Latgawa lived in the Rogue Valley of interior southwest Oregon. In their own language "Latgawa" means "those living in the “uplands," though they were also known as the Walumskni by the neighboring Klamath tribes. Specifically, Ha-ne-sakh. The Latgawa were one of two peoples who spoke the Takelma language. They were hunters, gatherers, weavers and fished the Rogue River. They were known to have a stationary settlement and trading post at the Katydid Ranch location. Their tribes lived in the upper Rogue River area extending beyond Prospect and Union up to Crater Lake. Since we've owned the Ranch, we've maintained the custom of welcoming overnight guests and at the same time, we continue to honor the protected wildlife designation given to it back in the 50's. Wildlife viewing is one the delights we share with our guests. Please be mindful of native wildlife keeping dogs on leash so as to avoid chasing and barking at wildlife. Thank you. The animals here include, but are not limited to black tail deer, elk, fox, coyote, ringtailed cat, raccoon, skunk, and also typically farther up the mountain are the elusive mountain lions and black bear which we have never spotted on our property. The ponds and surrounding area are home to migratory to the Oregon Pond turtle, Canada geese, quail, wild turkeys, various owls including the great horned owls, hawks, cranes and eagles. Our pond bird watcher friends spotted Common Mergansers, Ring Necked Ducks, Canada Geese…and a Loon. The bull frogs orchestrate the evening and can be heard at times throughout the day. Katydid Ranch is a wildlife sanctuary. The flora and fauna of the forest is abundant and diverse. This land is home to many native grasses, ferns, and berries, wild flowers, as well as many other edible and medicinal plants and numerous varieties of mushrooms. If you are visiting during blackberry season, feel free to pick, pick, pick and indulge. Katydid trees include old growth Douglas Fir, Ponderosa, Sugar, and Jeffrey Pine, various Cedar tree varieties, Incense Cedar, the majestic Pacific Madrone, Alder, Big Leaf Maple, Black and White Oak, Dog wood, and Vine Maple. Three waterfalls, the Prospect Cafe, and the Historic Hotel are all within a two-mile radius. If you're after that famous pie at Beckie's Cafe, you are 10 minutes close. Our 100 acre ranch allows us to host guests in their own RV's, at camp/tent sites, or in our new A-frame Cabin all located in private, and even secluded, sites. Several well maintained trails wind throughout the property and can be enjoyed by guests. Nature enthusiasts enjoy the hiking, wildlife viewing, and the beautiful ponds and woods. Crater Lake Woodlands is part of the historic Katydid Ranch. Once owned by Boise Cascade who used it both for growing seedlings to replant logged mountain sides and as a vacation getaway for their executives, the story of Katydid Ranch goes back to the early 1900's when it's owner named "Katy" used it as the "half-way" overnight lodging for horse & buggy guests traveling to Crater Lake from the Rogue Valley. Leaving the valley at the crack of dawn, they could arrive at "Katy's" by nightfall, in time for a meal and sound mountain sleep. They'd hitch up at dawn and make it to Crater Lake by nightfall. Historically, the first residents were the Rogue River Takelma and Latgawa native Americans. Latgawa lived in the Rogue Valley of interior southwest Oregon. In their own language "Latgawa" means "those living in the “uplands," though they were also known as the Walumskni by the neighboring Klamath tribes. Specifically, Ha-ne-sakh. The Latgawa were one of two peoples who spoke the Takelma language. They were hunters, gatherers, weavers and fished the Rogue River. They were known to have a stationary settlement and trading post at the Katydid Ranch location. Their tribes lived in the upper Rogue River area extending beyond Prospect and Union up to Crater Lake. Since we've owned the Ranch, we've maintained the custom of welcoming overnight guests and at the same time, we continue to honor the protected wildlife designation given to it back in the 50's. Wildlife viewing is one the delights we share with our guests. Please be mindful of native wildlife keeping dogs on leash so as to avoid chasing and barking at wildlife. Thank you. The animals here include, but are not limited to black tail deer, elk, fox, coyote, ringtailed cat, raccoon, skunk, and also typically farther up the mountain are the elusive mountain lions and black bear which we have never spotted on our property. The ponds and surrounding area are home to migratory to the Oregon Pond turtle, Canada geese, quail, wild turkeys, various owls including the great horned owls, hawks, cranes and eagles. Our pond bird watcher friends spotted Common Mergansers, Ring Necked Ducks, Canada Geese…and a Loon. The bull frogs orchestrate the evening and can be heard at times throughout the day. Katydid Ranch is a wildlife sanctuary. The flora and fauna of the forest is abundant and diverse. This land is home to many native grasses, ferns, and berries, wild flowers, as well as many other edible and medicinal plants and numerous varieties of mushrooms. If you are visiting during blackberry season, feel free to pick, pick, pick and indulge. Katydid trees include old growth Douglas Fir, Ponderosa, Sugar, and Jeffrey Pine, various Cedar tree varieties, Incense Cedar, the majestic Pacific Madrone, Alder, Big Leaf Maple, Black and White Oak, Dog wood, and Vine Maple. Friendly Hosts who greeted me even when I arrived a little late. Bathrooms were clean and showers were warm. Cabin 1 could hold 4 though I came solo. Heater in the cabin kept the place warm. It was nice having a roof over my head given it was storming outside.

It was conveniently located just off I5 as stated by others. We had a quiet & peaceful night and morning. There is a nice little walking path that my dog appreciated. The bridge lights weren't on which kinda bummed me out as I would have liked to see it lit up, but I was glad they were off as soon as we settled in. Shower was disconnected for winter, but I love the idea and want to borrow it on my own property! I didn't use the firepit, but it would be nice for a group. The campsite isn't totally level and is down a steepish hill. If there was a lot of snow I might be concerned about getting out. All in all we had a great 1 night stay and it was exactly what we hoped for when booking.

This place was amazing! Hands Down the best HipCamp spot I’ve been to. The Host were super cool and the events on the farm were awesome. Soda Creek was close to town yet far enough away there was zero light pollution, the stars were shining bright! I’d come back here again and again!

I loved staying on Sarah’s land in our RV. It was our first time using Hipcamp and it was a great experience. Good directions, beautiful farm and views. My daughter loved waking up to the sheep and us too! We walked around the property a little bit too. Such a great spot. We will be back!

What a beautiful and cozy spot!! Kit was very accommodating and friendly. The cabin was warm, the fire pit was perfect. I was just bummed the outside bathtub wasn't functional at that time, but all in all a great spot and I highly recommend.

Close to the main road but very quiet. Nice ambience with the string lights and sounds of the creek. Saw a few deer during my stay. Happened to be rainy during my stay but the big trees offered some cover and the covered bridge was another nice place to stay dry. Bathroom was clean.

Weekend Trip to Cedar Bloom
Stayed in one of the A-frames with my two small dogs for a weekend and had a lovely time. It was a stormy, rainy couple of days in October, so I didn’t get to explore the property or surrounding area much, but that ended up being perfect since I had just come to relax anyway. Once I got set up inside (with some string lights, a hot water bottle, and a good book), it felt nice and cozy. I was glad to have brought the hot water bottle and a couple of extra blankets, b/c the temps inside were roughly the same as they were outside. The transparent panels make it feel like you’re sleeping among the trees, and the sound of rain on the roof was wonderful. The roof is corrugated steel, so the first time an acorn pinged off it I just about jumped out of my skin, but we got used to it quickly. Ultimately I think those noises were part of the charm. Saw some beautiful deer and lots of wild turkeys. As a woman camping solo, I felt very safe. The property isn’t completely remote (it’s tucked next to a neighborhood and there’s a private residence onsite) but it still has a peaceful, wilderness feel, especially in late October when there were fewer visitors. For anyone curious (since I couldn’t find this info beforehand), each A-frame has its own fire ring and picnic table. Thank you for the great weekend!

I love this place. I’ll stay here any chance I get. It’s lovely. Spacious camp sites. Hot tea and coffee area. The river. The outdoor showers. And the A frames are so cool! But I recommend arriving in the daylight if it’s your first time. I came after dark and I’m pretty sure I would have been lost if I didn’t already know my way around. It’s not well lit at night. Makes for good sleep— but def bring a head lamp.

Hideouts HipCamp Review I loved this place! Partly the location and partly the very nice people there. About the location: it's not for everyone,; it is a bit of a drive including 5 miles on a scrabble road that is fine. But you get out and away from everyone and into a beautiful spot with a great view. It’s also rather rustic that I like that soon they will have a bath house and it’ll be different. There’s an example of how they were nice to me: I am 72 years old and have some mobility issues. they were very cognizant of it and helped me get around a little bit. That was very sweet. I would come back every year if I could.

Cedar bloom is great! This was my second time staying there and first in the dome. It was cold and having a fireplace was amazing. The community kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes and cookware needed to cook a meal. The bed was comfy, the hosts were very nice and the sauna/shower's worked great. No complaints, I’ll hopefully be back next summer.
