Welcome to the Butterfly Yurt! This beautiful yurt is nestled on 6 acres of land with your very own private hiking trails throughout the property. Located inside Wayne National Forest this property is perfect for nature lovers, a group of friends or a romantic getaway. Experience all that nature has to offer while waking up to the sound of birds chirping or soaking in the hot tub. This property provides a unique nature inspired getaway while offering all the modern conveniences. As you arrive at the yurt you will be welcomed by a calm and serene aesthetic. Our portico was constructed from 100 year old barn beams that were salvaged from West Virginia. This unique structure with 10 ft exterior walls and over 17 feet to the center dome was hand crafted by Blue Ridge Yurts in Floyd Virginia. Every space in this property has been custom built to create an unforgettable experience. This is the only 10 ft walled yurt in the region offering a spacious loft. Lay back and enjoy watching the clouds go by and seeing the rustling of the trees in the wind through our 5 foot dome. At night stare up at the stars as you fall asleep on your full sized queen beds with memory foam mattresses. The main floor offers a very spacious living area with in floor radiant heat system to keep you toasty warm in the winter. The space also includes a mini-split unit that offers additional heating as well as A/C in the summer months. A pull out couch is provided to accommodate any extra guest. The living area is open to the beautiful kitchen with custom made cabinets and rustic center island constructed out of old salvaged barn beams. The large marble island top provides ample space for food prep and dining. Our kitchen has all full sized appliances with large farm sink, full sized French door fridge and a convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics you would need to prepare simple dishes including cooking oil, spices, flour, sugar, basic cookware and baking utensils. A Keurig coffee machine and pods are provided as well as a drip machine with ground coffee. Our bathroom provides every convenience and luxury during your stay. A large 6 foot walk-in shower is spacious and inviting. Admire the custom built vanity also constructed from salvaged barn beams. A full sized washer and dryer are located in the nook of the bathroom and guests are welcome to use throughout their stay. Our main floor also includes the master bedroom complete with full sized queen bed with memory foam mattresses, Storage ottoman and TV. As you make your way out the back door you will find a little oasis awaiting. Our patio area provides privacy and the opportunity to relax in nature. Soak in the 6 person hot tub or gather around the fire pit in the evenings with friends and family. A 6 person dining set is a perfect place to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee in the morning. This property was thoughtfully created to provide a unique and special experience for each and every one of our guests no matter what the occasion. This campsite is beautifully situated on an active Amish farm in Chesterhill, Ohio. There’s a fire pit and outhouse for your use. There are no hookup’s, but you can bring your off grid camper or tents. Emanuel and Lilly operate a stunning 60+ acre farm, wood shop, gardens, and chicken coop. Both are wonderful people and always a pleasure to just sit back and have a nice leisurely chat. They belong to a traditional Amish group, so there isn't electricity on site. There are special booking guidelines because the family does not have telephone, however, someone is generally available at the farm house. Once you set up on site Emanuel will stop down to say hello and make sure your settled in just fine. My name is Chad. I am helping the family with bookings because they do not use the internet or any electronic devices. I am available by cell phone to make sure your stay is perfect.

Overview

Zanesville is just an hour from Columbus, but it feels a world away. Everywhere you turn, there’s a state forest, state park, or protected wildlife area. That means one thing: beautiful, convenient camping. Whether you feel like swimming close to camp or sleeping at a forest RV park, this part of Ohio has you covered.

At Dillon State Park, fish for bass and play disc golf just steps from camp. Kids love the basketball court, and hikers can get active on seven trails. If you need to get online, the camp store has free Wi-Fi. You won’t find full hookups here, but most sites have electric; there’s also a dump station.

For some of the best hiking in Ohio, head south to Blue Rock State Park. The campground welcomes big rigs and horses; you can also opt for cabins or tent camping. Rent a boat in the park store and explore the small lake, or swim from the beach. When the lake freezes, come for ice fishing and ice skating.

A little further afield, Ohio offers some surprises. Kayak through hand-operated locks at Muskingum River State Park. At Wolf Run State Park, you can try freshwater scuba diving. To the south, Wayne National Forest is a haven for ATV riders, mountain bikers, and rock climbers.
