Clark Shack Acres 

Clark Shack Acres is a miniature horse farm in the Appalachian Ohio area. In the Muskinghum watershed near 5 State Park lakes Piedmont, Clendening, Salt Fork, Tappen and Seneca lakes. Also one mile from Egypt Valley Nature Public land. Close to fishing, boating, horseback riding, hunting, hiking. You can hike on trails at the camp site . We are a 40 acre family farm , not a camp ground .  But you can drive to all of our sites and  Pitch a tent near a pine forest and pond on a miniature horse farm . Private, but walking distance to the main house were water is available for washing and drinking. Many hiking trails on the land with a pond, stream, mediation circle. We have lots of wildlife. Located on a dirt road about 25 miles to nearest city. Fire ring and firewood is available. One tent or camper per site . Only 2 miles to Piedmont Lake where you can fish and go boating . They have a marina and restaurant. Only minutes from an Ohio wildlife reserve Egypt Valley great for hiking and hunting. Located in the Muskingum Water Shed with many lakes and streams including Salt Fork , Clenndening  , Piedmont, Seneca, Tappen Lakes . We have a lot you can park your boat when its not on the lake while camping .  We are located in a  Amish community , so watch for horse and buggys  on your drive to the farm.   primitive camping ~  is defined as being without neighbors, electricity, running water, bathroom facilities and, often times, cell service. You camp in a remote location and provide everything for yourself

Fish Farm Camp

We have a beautiful 20 acre lake. It's 60 ft deep with crystal clear water and is great for swimming and fishing. Kayaking welcome too. We also have a couple other ponds available for fishing as well. We raise fresh water prawn and bluegill in the summertime, so late september we have fresh shrimp available. Lots of waterfowl and deer here to see.

Backwoods Camping

Purchased in 2019, these overgrown acres are now a federally registered Farm with the crop being Trees, and have a 10 year Woodland Stewardship Management Plan with the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources. I  will be working hard over the years to bring this back to a healthy stand of mixed hardwoods, full of wildlife habitat.Learn more about this land:Enjoy approximately 10 wooded acres while being the only campers on site.  
Provided are a 4x8 lean-to, outhouse, fire ring, and a spool table.
Hiking trails are cut throughout the woods, so feel free to explore. Just stay within the wire fence lines to avoid crossing onto neighboring private lands.
This is a Federal and State managed Woodland, so please do no harm to any living tree or plant. Feel free to pick up any dead wood for use in the fire ring. (Cut Firewood also provided for free at campsite.)

You do have to hike in and out between parking area and campsite. The access is on a slope, so you will get your cardio. It's about 500 feet from parking to campsite.
