This property was first established in 1976, and the original owner named the property “Pleasant Acres”. He and his wife lived here for over 30 years and still have grandchildren living a few houses down from us. Upon meeting his granddaughter and hearing the story, we decided to honor him and his family by keeping the name. My wife and I have lived here since March 2020, and we are excited to share this little slice of heaven with our friends, family, and future guests. Learn more about this land: Welcome to Pleasant Acres where you will have access to over 7 acres located on the national scenic river, Big Darby Creek. We are centrally located and Less than 10 minutes from Plain City, Dublin, and Hilliard, and only 30 mins from downtown Columbus! A short drive or bike ride to any of these lovely Ohio towns will find you a plethora of bars, restaurants, and shopping. We are on a very quiet and serene piece of land 1 mile upstream from Prairie Oaks metro park. Prairie Oaks is home to miles of hiking trails and Darby Bend lakes which has four lakes, bathrooms, shelter houses, and one the best dog parks in central Ohio. Available activities include kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, axe throwing, volleyball, wildlife watching(there is a bald eagle nest just down stream), and more! Boat and axe rental, shuttle service (availability based on our availability to do so. please ask when booking.), and firewood bundles are available.

Logan county is also home of the Piatt and Mac-O-Chee Castles both located 20 minutes from camp. For those who desire to shoot small or large guns, there is a gun store/range located next door to us. Great way to relieve some stress. (Able to watch the total solar eclipse. April 8th 2024.) We offer two excluded primitive sites with fire rings, spaced for privacy. Both surrounded by trees and wildlife. We have two porta john toilets in a central location with a hand washing station. If weather permits all vehicles have access to both sites. Their farm is very different than the surrounding corn and soybean fields. Jake & Liz use no chemicals. They celebrate the diversity of life found on the landscape. Hundreds of natural birds, amphibians, and insects call this oasis home. Along with a host of farm animals. Chickens, pigs, goats, cows, and turkeys are all raised out doors in a way that regenerates the soil and creates beauty across the landscape. 45 minutes from Columbus, Ohio! We sit 7 minutes off of I-71 just outside of Fredericktown, Ohio, but we never hear the highway. Our farm makes the perfect weekend escape from the big city or a great big breath of fresh air for the traveler coming by! We have a couple of sites to choose from. We have a grassy field with lots of privacy right off the road. We also have a flat gravel drive for larger vehicles or during wet times. Come enjoy a slice of Central Ohio heaven with us! Shady Owl Ranch is a 17 acre non-profit animal sanctuary with dogs, cats, chickens, guineas, ducks and a turkey named Martha Washington. Owners Chuck and Amanda moved from Northern California and are currently re-establishing their rescue here in Central Ohio. We have two finished studio cabins. They are very close (2 miles) to the town of Mount Vernon, OH with hiking trails on the property. Pets are allowed but there are free range chickens, guineas, ducks, dogs, cats on the property so their safety is priority. We have added a 2 acre fenced in area for dogs off leash. It's our version of a Dog Park. Plenty of bike trails around town and only 20 miles to Mohican State Park. Farm fresh eggs from our rescued chickens and local honey are available for purchase. Money from our vacation rental helps with feeding our rescue animals and expanding our non-profit animal sanctuary.

LRB Farm Hidden Escape

Little Riverbend farm was established in 1996 by Dave and Traci Bitler. The original property was settled sometime in the mid 1800s with the main house built sometime between 1872-1875.
