Outercamp, Hoot Owl Ridge

5 sites · Lodging60 acres · Spruce Pine, NC
You've been given the key. Come experience 60-acres of private mountain land off the Blue Ridge Parkway with big mountain views, lush Appalachian forest, & our very own waterfall! Inspired by the tale of a young gnome who discovers the power of gratitude in the forest. We bring Hoot Owl Ridge to you with in the same spirit. We are within 15 min of three magnificent waterfalls (Crabtree, Grassy Creek, & Tom's Creek), and only 25 mins from Linville Gorge! Though we are very secluded in the mountains, Walmart is only 5 mins down the road. Spruce Pine is 10-15 mins and has food, grocery, gas, hospital, and a brewery. Marion is a bigger town with mostly anything you could be looking for and is about 20mins away down the mountain. If you want some city buzz, head to vibrant Asheville under an hour away, where you'll find endless art, restaurants, breweries, live music, and more. Live closer to the earth, the mountains, the curious creatures, and return home with some gratitude!

Mountain Stream RV Park

40 sites · Lodging, RVs10 acres · Marion, NC
Mountain Stream RV Park recently acquired more surrounding property and now has a half mile of creek frontage, 2 ponds that we will be stocked with plenty of fish, and have already started expanding! The Park is at about 1800′ elevation in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest, nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Beautiful Buck Creek flows through this valley and along two sides of the campground. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 3 miles away, but it’s 5 miles by road. We are surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. You can take in many of the interesting attractions that are only a short drive away or you can just relax by the stream and listen to the cold clear water flowing over the rocky stream bed. And speaking of the stream, there’s trout in that that’s water. All of our sites have full hook-ups – power (30 amp; 50 amp), water, sewer, and cable TV. ***Our location in the mountains also means that there is no cell phone service here but we do have free Wi-Fi and cable TV (40 channels) throughout the park. Our new Wi-Fi System is up and running. Free Unlimited Wi-Fi for all campers. Higher Speed is available for purchase: $4.95/day, $9.95/3 days, $14.95/week. You can also Wi-Fi enable on your phone and use it that way! Our mountain location also means that there aren’t many straight stretches of road in the area. The last 5 miles of NC 80 coming up to the campground from Marion is curvy (but not very steep). Don’t let this discourage you, many of our campers come in 40′ (some in 45′) motor homes and 5th wheels without any problems. But please drive carefully. **WHEN YOU GET TO MARION, BE SURE TO TAKE 70 WEST TO 80 NORTH (ALSO KNOWN AS BUCK CREEK ROAD). DO NOT COME DOWN FROM THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY. IT IS A STEEP AND VERY CURVY ROAD FROM THE TOP OF HIGHWAY 80, AND NOT SUITABLE FOR RVs. IF YOU MISS THE ENTRANCE YOU CAN TURN AROUND AT SUNNYVALE BAPTIST CHURCH OR ON SUGAR COVE RD.** Your pets are welcome – but we do expect you to be responsible owners. Check-in time is 2:00 pm daily. Check-out time is 12:00 pm. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday. Sundays 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sorry, RVs only – no tent sites. There are new rules for firewood and campers can no longer bring their own firewood. Don’t worry we have plenty for purchase at the Camp Store. Click here for details: Firewood We are small and have limited parking space. There is room for one RV and one tow or towed vehicle per site. There may not be parking space available for additional vehicles!
