Happy Pastures Campground

7 sites · Lodging, Tents3 acres · Tully, NY
Nestled in the Finger Lakes, Happy Pastures Campground is a place where families can come and stay for a day, a week, a month or even a season. The campground is located between Skaneateles and Otisco Lakes in the town of Spafford. Our mission is to provide a fun, family-oriented getaway, providing opportunities for families to reconnect with nature and agriculture. With an on-site barn and a mixture of animals in pastures, families will have the opportunity to care for and feed the animals at designated chore times. Scheduled guided hayrides to Fesko Dairy’s family operated dairy farm a mile down the road will provide opportunities to engage with the farmer and staff about modern day agricultural practices. During the camping season, programs will be provided at the campground lodge and barn. Programs will cover a variety of topics designed to incorporate agriculture and nature. Such topics can include gardening, fishing, animal husbandry, outdoor cooking, bird watching, using nature and animals to reduce stress, and many others. Our goal at Happy Pastures Campground is to have campers leave with a better understanding of agriculture and nature while gaining a greater appreciation for where their food comes from and the ecosystem it grows in.

Sunswick Farm

2 sites · Lodging, Tents120 acres · Moravia, NY
Welcome to our land. Brooks Mullahy manages Sunswick Farm’s apiary, which includes 20 bee yards and over 200 hives. A bee yard is a collection of anywhere from 4 to 21 hives in one place, and our yards are located at the farm and on private properties throughout Cayuga, Cortland, and Onondaga Counties. We are busy with our bees and at the same time want to share the wonders of our farm with folks so we are very fortunate to have our neighbors Debbie Kahl and Tracy Yardley manage the HipCamp bookings on our behalf. Debbie lives very close and will be your contact person. She will be happy to answer your questions and will meet you when you arrive and introduce you to the your camping site. Tracy will also be available to help in any way she can. It is our pleasure to host campers here. We hope you enjoy this piece of land as much as we do.

Glamping in Upstate New York guide

Overview

Glampers looking for scenic beauty and outdoor activities are spoiled for choice here. The Catskills and Adirondacks will be your best bet for mountain peaks, while water lovers have thousands of lakes, from remote and pristine to developed resorts like Lake George. Chase waterfalls in Watkins Glen and Letchworth state parks, or at Niagara Falls. Explore thousands of miles of trails and millions of acres of forested wilderness in Adirondack Park alone. Historic towns and artsy enclaves abound, especially around the Hudson Valley. Or sample the flavors in the many area vineyards and farms. Although summers are popular, fall brings colorful foliage, and winter brings plenty of snow play. You can find basic cabins and cottages in many state parks in the Allegany, Finger Lakes, and Thousand Island regions, but for a truly luxurious experience full of amenities like pools, clubhouses, and gourmet meals, look to the numerous private glamping sites throughout Upstate New York.
